Tip for Bandle Tale: if your instinct is to grind for skill points, try throwing a non-story party instead. You’ll probably need to do a food stand at the location (or the same island at least) to raise morale before you can throw a party, but parties are absolutely the way to earn the skill points you need. The early gameplay suggests that parties should be for story beats, but that’s just not true.
i bought moonstone island and i liked it a lot! unfortunately it has some issues on the switch that can be quite annoying (opening chests in your home sometimes doesn't load the content of the chest and the character gets stuck, but time still passes, so you either wait for 2AM or reload everything; and also getting out of the medallion kind of "immobilizes" the character, making the glider not work anymore) and i found myself a but worried about losing my progress while playing, but apart from that it's been enjoyable! will definitely check out Bandle Tale next
Ive just started playing Everafter Falls, its new so not many guides out. Id love to see other people and youtubers make some vids about it! Its a lovely and fun and funny game so far.
@@janharris3800 its SO addictive and fun! I am just loving it. Finally got to Fall and almost through the first dungeon. Feel like Im finally getting the hang of it.
I’m loving everafter falls too, especially now the update came out yesterday to fix the near end game glitch 😊I’m enjoying watching @ladyshelab doing a full play through on her channel 💕
Could you possibly make a Top 10 or Ranked video of best Cozy games for Cooperative/Multiplayer on PC? Like Farm Together 2, Lightyear Frontier, Dinkum, etc.? Would love to see a video like that from someone like yourself with hundreds of hours of experience. Wife and I are looking for new Cozy type Survival, Building or Farm games to play to fill our time together. Cheers! Love your videos btw! :)
It's fun to watch reviews of videogames that simply didn't exist 25 years ago. It speaks to the diversity and creative spirit of the medium and all the many ways you can play. Thanks for sharing!
I didn't think I would like snufkin, but I bought it on a whim and couldn't stop playing it till the end. Just so peaceful and humorous. I loved the coloring and low stress of the challenges.
I bought moonstone island on switch on launch after seeing your video looking forward to it and omg I’m hooked! I also love that there’s nothing you have to do, so you can do whatever you feel like and change your focus as you desire. I’m probably equally excited about the dates as I am taming spirits. 😂
@@amandaleighplans So there’s no major storyline, it’s more of a sandbox game if you are happy to play it that way. But each island has creatures (spirits) and you have to ‘battle’ them (it’s a turn based card game so you can take as long as you like) if you want to catch them - which helps you because you can collect items from them or give them to towns people, and you can also explore harder islands or dungeons this way. But a lot of them are really cute so I quite like looking for new ones. I spent a long time though not even bothering with dungeons and instead just flying around looking for spirits and farming.
Been waiting to hear your thoughts on Moonstone Island! Definitely wanna check that one out. Especially since the 1.6 Stardew update is taking forever to come to Switch
I also love Balatro and agree 100% that it's a cozy game, my first games were card games and this one has such a wacky sense of humor. I also adore Paper Trail and have played through all of it, but will have to play again because I didn't figure out the side quest of collecting the origami figures until I was into the second world. I have also played A Fold Apart which uses a similar mechanic. I am still trying to decide if Moonstone Island is for me, farming sims can be such a time suck. I absolutely LOVED Snuffkin my only complaint was it was too short! Bandle Tale looks adorable but again, time suck. I have the demo of Coffee Talk but honestly visual novels can put me to sleep. Love your channel!
Tavern Talk and Stitch are so good. Along somewhat similar lines to Stitch is the picross game "LogiArt Grimoire." I love any picross game, but this one in particular is extra rewarding as you're basically discovering the things that make up the world by combining the objects, etc from the puzzles you complete to make more puzzles, which you then combine to make more puzzles/objects, etc. There is quite a bit of content, and it's fun enough that I'll probably start over from scratch whenever I do finally complete it. Also, while I know Powerwash Simulator isn't exactly a new release, that latest DLC pack is by far my favorite, and it looks like we have even more top notch levels still to come this year. I have over 700 hours in PWS. Imo, there is no game that's better to pair with a good audiobook/podcast or show in the background. Some good stuff this year, to be sure. ETA: How did I forget Balatro?? Love me some Balatro.
please please try Slay the Spire if you like balatro!!! It’s widely beloved as one of the best deck building roguelikes of all time and it is so well done and fun to play! it’s like balatro but with lore and critters instead of numbers. it’s still card based like this though. it’s soooo addicting. i’m a cozy game girlie at heart. but slay the spire has over 500 hours of gameplay for me. more than my 450 hours in stardew and my 300+ in animal crossing. edit: everything you described as reasons why you love balatro were reasons i love slay the spire 😭😭 so good
Those are quite some good choices and the Moonstone Island is definitely new to me. You know, when I feel lazy or way too relaxed, I also find myself playing some Visual Novel games. Unfortunately most of them are not available in my country which results me into turning on my secondary, hacked switch and pirating those games but over the past few years I also mostly stopped playing those triple A games. I don't know why that is but the last game that I played was The Witcher 3 with all add-ons but the rest were all indie games such as Coffee Talk or Octopath Traveler or Another Code
I stopped playing Moonstone Island to watch this lmao 😂 I'm obsessed, send help Hmm!! I wasn't super interested in Coffee Talk, but Tavern Talk has me VERY interested. 👀✨ Thanks for the review, I will try it out!! And oof, I *need* Bandle Tale but I'm trying to hold out for a good sale. 😭
I recently completed Bandle Tale and absolutely loved it! It may be my favourite game of the year. Currently playing Moonstone Island and so far, it's a close second!
I’m still trapped in the world of Moonstone Island, mingling with those adorable spirits. Just realised that Moonstone Island is the only cozy game I’ve played so far that is released this year. Look forward to play the upcoming Fields of Mistria, Tiny Glade, Plucky Squire, and Zelda game.
So many of these games going on my list! Also, so many games so little time 😂 Did you ever finish BG3 by the way? If so, what did you think? I know it’s very different to the usual stuff you stream!
Paper Trail and stitch. look to be right up my alley. I am hoping they come on sale and I can buy them in the near future. My top 3 cozy games so far are: 1. Balatro - my new obsession 2. Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On (remake of my favorite game on the 3ds, Pocket Card Jockey (by Game Freak), focused around playing solitaire and racing horses. Your performance in the solitaire rounds affect your relationship with your horse and your progress in the races. In my 3ds playthrough, I named all my horses after horse Pokemon like Ponyta and Rapidash! This game was SO addictive on the 3ds and it continues the trend in the Switch remake. 3. Tavern Talk - love the drink making and the quest building mechanics Honorable mentions to Suika Game, Yonder: Cloud Catcher Chronicles, and Wylde Flowers which released in prior years but I only discovered them last month. 😅 EDIT: I learned Pocket Card Jockey is also on Apple Arcade and I expect the user interface is even better there.
@@ruthurban1959I'm so sorry for the delayed response. I just saw your message!! You kind of learn as you go. There's not much of a tutorial but it does have a quick reference guide which tells you how much a hand can score. Your objective is pretty much to play poker hands within a certain amount of hands. When you select cards in your hand, it does let you know if the cards you selected make a poker hand. I hope that helps!!
Botany Manor: a gardening puzzle game where you explore a beautiful Victorian estate. Pros: very beautiful, available on switch. Cons: expensive for the short number of hours of gameplay. Really enjoyed it, would highly recommend if it goes on sale!
I've been so interested in some of the League of Legends games, I'm immediately buying Bandle Tale! Are any of the other League of Legends games good and cozy?
Wait tavern talk seems even more interesting than coffee talk?! haven't played any of them but was looking to buy coffee talk. but the quests part makes me want to be more interested in tavern talk
Hi - every game is time stamped meaning they’re also typed out in the description, I also show the title when I first mention it on screen too when I say the name of the game! So hopefully that helps a bit
Balatro is my current love hate relationship. I am obsessed with the game, but cannot win a match for the life of me 🤣 I got to the last ante and messed up and have never come as close to winning again.
Pandemic! Couldn’t go into the lab or do my uni work, made content for fun whilst I was waiting. Finished my degree, taught at uni part time whilst making vids, by the time my teaching fellowship ended I could go full time
i love bandle tale so much (cause i knit and love pixel games haha) but i stuck after 10 hours cause i cant earn orbs (i cant make parties or picnics, i dont have enough skills) this make me so sad… (sorry for my english)
a PHD in chemistry is actually so impressive!

LOVE when a gaming channel is sponsored by a game!
especially when it's a DLC for a game I already LOVE
Yeah it really makes you believe the channel is independent! Lmao
I am really looking forward to Fields of Mistria. It has a Sailor Moon vibe to it and the fact that Toby Fox made the trailer music had me sold
I've had it on my steam wishlist for a while and i cannot wait for it
My wishlist has been expanded, thank you.
So many good ones on this list! I have been playing Dave the Diver, princess peach showtime, and Moonstone island a lot so far.
LOVE Dave the diver. On the fence about moonstone rn I feel like no main objective would be hard to adjust to
Ive just started playing Everafter Falls, its new so not many guides out. Id love to see other people and youtubers make some vids about it! Its a lovely and fun and funny game so far.
