in the settings you can toggle the combat to 'hit to aggro'

Started playing the game on Xbox game pass 30 minutes ago after watching your video. It does have a few frame drops but over all I am loving it. I honestly feel like it is Stardew but with better graphics and more mechanics and I’m here for it ❤️
There’s a way to turn off combat! If you go into settings you can change combat to “hit to Aggro” which will let you just mine and not need to worry about the monsters until you want to!
Xbox version suffers from very bad gameplay pauses and stutters on Series X. I hope they patch as soon as possible.
ahhh same with steam deck. didnt encounter some of that during the early access period. weird

Yesss and all the lags and objects having no textures and the game crashes. I could go on 😭

You can choose to “disable“ combat in the settings. Love that they added this because combat is really annoying on this game. 😊

Will love it when it adds multiplayer the Savanah ANd underwater farming. This is the BEST farming game EVER made. Hands down.
I am torn between romancing Theo and Semeru, but I might go with Theo first.
Oh man, I hear you on not knowing who you're going to romance. I'm stuck on Noah, Surya, Rafael, Raj, Theo, Kenny, and Wakuu... and that's just who I'm EXPECTING to struggle between, lol.
I want to buy it on the Steam Deck when I can buy one. I might buy it on PS5 instead.

The game is gonna continue having updates. They are gonna implementing multi-player, island hopping, a savannah area and many more features!

As for the game's ending, 2024 has a roadmap to continue the story so some quests right now have a "work in progress" attached to them.
It’s not done… not even close. So many missing things it feels like wish an incomplete game. Makes me sad because I love the direction they’re going in but this def isn’t a full release.
Can you elaborate on what's missing other than the mechanics for the 2024 roadmap?
Town rank S, the dating mechanic, slice of life scenes, children portrait, children dialogue & children grow up should have all been included in the full release and not pushed back for a later date. The game feels empty and incomplete without those mechanics. Also, you can see there is missing dialogue at some of the festivals, combat is still clunky, etc etc. Even all of the merfolk stuff is promised for backers of the game. Not as free DLC but to be apart of the base game.
Them having an EA roadmap they were following for the longest time and then suddenly saying out of the blue that they are not finishing the EA roadmap, are increasing the price and doing full release without finishing their early access road map says it all.
I don’t believe it’s the devs fault but administration that wanted to rush the game out incomplete. That’s how almost everyone in CI groups on FB and Reddit feel as well unfortunately. The game isn’t finished.

I had the same issues with selecting items using a controller. Everything else worked just fine but not being able to select stuff precisely was enough to switch back to the keyboard. I was a Kickstarter backer so have been delighted to see the progress the game has gone through over time.
I believe one of the trigger buttons will help us replicate the Cntrl form the keyboard. But still, it is tedious 🥲

This right here. I actually felt more comfortable for the first time using K+M, and the fact that you can (like SDV) move the cursor far enough away that it doesn't affect the tile you hit? Chef's kiss. I also have a gaming mouse that I bound the dash and strafe to, so I don't have to worry about weird hand positioning
Great video! I love coral island and just to add to what you said in the video you can actually turn combat off so that the monsters only attack you if you hit them with the sword first. Might help those ppl who want to avoid the combat!
YOU CAN TURN OFF COMBAT. By selecting, in options, monsters will not attack unless you hit them first.
I was a huge Stardew fan. So I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. Even though it has a few bugs. Hopefully they fix them soon.

I'm enjoying Wylde Flowers right now, but when I finish it, I'm thinking of getting Coral Island on PS5. I just want to see some reviews of how it plays on the PS5 first. I'm not a PC gamer, so PS5 is my only option right now, unless I wait for a Switch port.

I am one of players who are waiting for this to be released on switch. While waiting, I was playing Sandrock and I realize that although Coral Island looks really good, maybe it wont on the switch. So I sold my switch and bought a Steam Deck.
So I specifically bought a Steam Deck just to have a good experience playing this game 😂 I am that excited to play this game.

Combat can actually be turned off in the settings. The monsters will just stand around then, unless you engage them. It's what I really like about the game, because I'm not a fan of combat, either.
I am loving this game it is wonderful. Its challenging but not too challenging.
Something not touched on when speaking about combat; you can turn it off. Or rather, you can make it to where creatures will only fight you if you hit them first

There should be an option setting that allows you to only enable combat if you run into the monsters in the mines. It's not on by default, tho, so you have to change it in the settings. This option was not available in early access.

My steam deck didn’t really handle it the best. I had to cap lock my FPS to 40 with medium settings and I still get stutters here and there. My character and everyone else looks a bit blurry (might be the textures I should turn up) I wanted to love it so bad, maybe I’ll get used to it
What settings did you have?
Mine's on Medium with FPS locked at 30

Def let the devs know. You can join their Discord server. Mine works fine, so bugs like this will be helpful for the devs to know about

I'm waiting for the 2024 update 🥲 took a peek and almost couldn't stop myself to play but I'm waiting for the hangouts feature and merfolk!!
It's only getting better from here! Gonna keep playing for a month or so and then dive back in at the end of 2024
