I lived in Reno from January 1980 till August of 1984. Then I moved to Washington state and been here ever since. I've always missed Reno and Im planning on moving back.
I'm a Reno junkie, growing up in the Bay Area. Now living in South Dakota, but went out there for March Madness 4 years ago. I know downtown isn't what it used to be, but I enjoy the memories. Great video!
Before we moved there, our first trip was for Hot August Nights in '89. No place to stay and before cell phones, it took a while to find our friends. We parked where the Brite Glass place is @0:28 and slept in the car. It's a longer story why but my girlfriend, our 6 mo. old puppy and I made the walk from there to Circus and back a few times that weekend. Not the best intro to Reno but I was convinced to make the move even then. We knew people who worked at Circus. You could get a mean shrimp cocktail 30 years ago. But my favorite casino (oddly) is Rail City (mostly locals).
@@brendanearly6481 Yea, I hope they bring the buffet back. At the start, it was kind of a little known secret but toward the end things were starting to slip a little.
Thank you. Beautiful video. I think, though, that going up N. Virginia Street and passing the UNR would make the video even more knowledgeable and exciting.
Thank you for the tour! I haven't been here since 1996! We stayed at Circus Circus. When we got married in 1990 we went to the Flamingo Hotel Casino for dinner. I see it's no longer there. We stayed at a hotel far from the strip. I can't remember the hotel but it was walking distance to where the Flamingo was at. I might go there again. :)
Circus Casino is my favorite place to have funs for adults and kids alike. I think Flamingo is connected to Circus Circus now. Thanks for watching and commenting on my post, Trish.
@@MR.OWENCALIFORNIA I was shocked when harrahs closed down due to pandemic and is now an apt i beleive. That was the only place liked staying😕 past hotels included silver legacy, sundowner , mapes and ormsby house
Lived there for 22 years. Wish I could move back, but rents are too high. If you go again, you should spend a lot of time on the river. Especially in the summer.
I would say just avoid rush hour with stop and go traffic and the interstates with all the construction going on but driving on Veterans Pkwy or McCarran is nice and usually you can just drive and not have cars all around you

Reno is a nice place to move to. Let me know when you there. I need a place to crash for a few nights😅

Thinking about moving out there with my friends who live there
It's a nice city and lots of fun places around town :).
Beautiful reno thx so much
Casino right next door to town hall is hilarious. Wouldn't see that in UK. I so want to visit.
My favourite place...heartbeat 💌💓
Mine too😅😅. Thanks for watching Surjit.

Rail City has great daily specials I’d always go there growing up with my dad cause I could get a pizza or burger for pretty cheap.

It'll be on my next trip to Reno. Thankyou for watching this one .
It's a nice thought but I think the Evans Ave. side would be quite interesting too.
Honestly thinking about moving up there and attend UNR rather than UNLV. Looks so much more peaceful and less hot compared to here in Vegas
Tahoe snow Mountain will keep Reno cool, calm and peaceful. Thanks for watching n commenting on my post.

Hello Hello welcome . and thank you Just Driving 4K.
I guess trees don't grow well in Reno. No trees...
You noticed that too?😅

Okay it is on my bucket lists now. Thanks for watching and commenting on this video Wayne. Have yourself a bless day.

I lived there 1998/99. I always thought it was a town without an identity, stuck in the 1960's
