Billie really wanted to stay in "classic bond" style in honour to the whole Bond series and I think she did it perfect. It's a beauty song with really good live performance.

Her brother is the one who came up with the melody. They had a hard time pinpointing the right sound for it until he came up with the basic Melody the rest of the song followed. He was the creative genius behind the unique sound of the song. Once he started it with the idea he had both of them collaborated and the rest of the song came a lot easier and more natural because they were off and running starting from his idea.
I know all of the giddy fans out there like to praise Billie for all of the credit but her brother is off in the songwriting genius behind a lot of the things you think Billie does. They are a songwriting team and a lot of the ideas for the things you give her credit for her brother actually deserves the credit. Both of them are fantastic at making music and Billie has a beautiful singing voice but her brother is a fantastic producer as well.

My initial reaction was much the same as yours. However, since listening several times and evaluating the lyrics and her performance, I have grown to really like this piece. The admiration shown by Johnny Marr and Hans Zimmer for Billie, and her nervousness about this first live performance with such legends highlights her maturity as a performer.

    • @jaimesk1688
      @jaimesk1688 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Yeah, the admiration....they gave her more room than she used to give herself! They all seemed thrilled to work together. Seemed like Hans was fighting off a sob, and Johnny was being so lush. What a stage performance..

Beautiful, she's beautiful and so is the musicality. Her speech broke my heart, making our artists feel hated is NOT ok, especially in this day and age of solidarity.... Shame on the people who made a child feel like that. She deserves every success and not made to feel hated for it. Bless her heart, us fans will protect her as much as possible, but essentially it's down to people to think before they type💚

Also, hats off to Johnny Marr (The Smiths) on guitar, Hans Zimmer conducting and writing the arrangement for the orchestra, and of course Finneas on piano and harmony. I'm so glad you appreciated it; most reactors are too busy pausing the video and miss it. There are people who don't like this choice of artist, song, etc and it seems to fall on Billie BUT the Bond team asked them at the end of Sept to put something forward. That was before all the nominations and awards. Then it had to be chosen and approved by an entire team of people. It's wrong so much hate falls on Billie.

This is definitely the best Billie Eilish track I have heard. What I heard before, her voice is excellent, but the music has been weak. It was only going to be a matter of time the right music will fit her vocal style. She has good voice for Vintage Jazz. I love Billie Eilish. Her voice is unique and recognizable. For vocalists under the age of 20, very few female vocalists have unique recognizable voices. Diana Akuninova is another.
Now I’m going to treat all you Billie Eilish fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following and I consider her the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s.” Her name
Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Billie. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , TH-cam , etc) within the first 30 seconds ( Like Billie Eilish today) you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard.
If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 3 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. The first 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!!
And hope you add them to your playlist so that others may enjoy.
    Please TH-cam
“ Morgana King Happy Birthday 2017” ( 4:26 in duration). The song is called “ desert hush/I am a leaf” please be sure to click the 4:26 one ( the one with a photo of her with lyrics) and NOT the 4:25 or any of the others.
“ Morgana King Prelude to a kiss” ( 3:49 duration)
And finally one more that is to this day her signature song about a lover that promised to return but never did.
“ Morgana King sings a taste of honey” ( 5:17 duration).
So pleased that the younger generation who I send these songs to are amazed and profusely thank me for turning them on to the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s” Again, if you love Billie , please take a few moments out of your day to listen to Morgana. Her emotionally impactful voice will transport you to another world. I promise.
    R.I.P. Morgana King

And I want you to have my gratitude for sharing about her! I can sense the similarities - both of their voices are really smooth and ethereal. Now I've only heard a couple songs so far but I'm keen to listen more!
Once again thank you for posting this recommendation! I just wanted to let you know :) sincerely, someone from the late 1990s

As far as bond songs and Billie Eilish songs, I think that it's a little weak in both regards... In terms of a Bond song I wanted a bit more vocal dynamics on the stronger end and it didn't play super well into Billie's creativity and style either.... That said, I still really enjoy it and think it was a great effort... Also, I think it's good to see her expand on her repertoire a bit. Hopefully she'll expand on the more belty side of her vocals in order to add even more variety and technique into her songs (there's plenty there already, but it'd be nice to have more as well).

this isn't a bad thing to say but so far, after watching way too much reaction videos, you are the one and only person who commented something otherwise about this song, since this song has been taken incredibly positive. just proves that there will always be at least one person who wouldn't be satisfied. again, don't take this as a bad thing

It took a couple of times for this song to grow on me. I have a question Ms. Schofield, in your educated opinion, is there a vocal health issue with singing while rotating the head back and looking upwards like Billie does in this song. I watched a lengthy discussion of this in another video and I was wondering what you think about it. Thanks in advance if you reply.

Even tho you didn't ask me but here i am ...bending your head backwards actually creates more space as the swallowing muscles get into a position were they can't block or restrict your voice but if you bend too much it would just mess your voice up and you would chock...but bending head backwards isn't healthy for a beginner(that billie isn't)...different ppl hace different opinions about this thing

while not perfect technique, and stated above is not suitable for beginners and probably not the best taught habit. however, it is up to preference and i couldn’t find any negatives to go with it.

    • @makram8836
      @makram8836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@tyhuff9576 yeah...as i said earlier...its not healthy for a beginner but i don't appreciate the perfect technique thing because we don't know about one's voice...they themselves know most about there voice and if they feel easy to do it the way they do its good for them. The *perfect technique* thing isn't applicable to everyone.

Devastating...heartbreaking. It's gorgeous and personal (how could it not be with Billie!)...
If this doesn't seem exactly like Billie's other romantic work, I believe it's that she knew her first duty was to
empathize with the Daniel-Craig-Dire-Bond personna. She is his 'lady soul' in this tune. This is his tortured
story, beyond simple Bond compliance. Billie has a way of phrasing emotions so they
cut across types and genders. Not that I am entirely at ease with the overly-emo Bond lately. Just saying,
she picked up on that super-angsty Bond from the last ~4 films , and did the operatic, wrenching, soaring
send-off for Craig that's been waiting to happen. I think she and Finneas have channeled the personality
that's been lurking under this round of Bond episodes. The secret sauce under the singing is acting.
The intro has traditionally been a script summary, and this song makes the scenes all more intense. It's the opening
to an opera....all that delicious agony. Maybe Barbara Broccoli can lighten Bond up now...we need escapism
again. If she does, I'm sure Billie could do that too! I's amazing, this and Bad Guy from the same mind!
Johnny Marr was a cool touch....reference to origin. I think Billie was thrilled. What a ride!
