A very big congratulations to my sister Peta here, the quiet achiever at the leading edge of transformation and true emotional freedom, impacting so many lives not only at an individual level, but at the global level of an entire mental health space!
Originally, as a Counsellor, I used CBT but I knew, intuitively, there had to be something more. I believe we're energetic beings and in need of therapeutic interventions with higher resonance, if you will. Through a series of arrangements I met a wonderful EFT coach and my life changed forever, so much so, I became an EFT practitioner myself. Many changes occurred using EFT. Panic attacks [for 18 years] - gone. Continuous, low grade anxiety - gone. Cravings - gone. Self confidence - up. Self esteem - up. Self love and forgiveness - off the radar! Connection with my authentic self, powerful and strong. Dr Stapleton, many thanks for being a pioneer in this field. It's not easy but I salute your courage and dedication to new modalities that are not only safer, healthier and non invasive, they work!!
Wow, Deborah, awesome to read about your transformation! I'm experiencing powerful results for myself as well, and reading this only strengthens my resolve to keep tapping! Thanks for sharing
She explained EFT/tapping beautifully. I have used it to get rid of many issues and improve many things in my life: insomnia, stress, public speaking, anxieties, back pain, constipation (yes!), self-acceptance, self-confidence, etc… and it works great.
Fabulous to see one of the word's leading researchers and EFT experts on TED simply and clearly giving an explanation of the Emotional Freedom Techniques, aka Tapping for a world audience, Bravo Dr Stapleton!
I just rewatched this and am impressed with the clarity of her presentation. EFT is odd looking, but more effective to quickly release stress, pain, phobias, trauma and more. I have a free website with free videos if you want to see more of this. I so appreciate her research to explain what is happening in these quick interventions.
Fantastic presentation on EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques ) by Dr Peta Stapleton on the science behind why and how EFT works,if a lay person like myself can get it,and understand it, so can you.A must watch, especially for you Wikipedia readers.
Thank you so much for this. As an EFT Practitioner, working with clients for over 10 years, it's so refreshing to hear more about the science behind why this works! I've seen it work in every session (& in myself) but understanding more of the research is fantastic. Thank you for making EFT more appealing to a wider audience.
I found an excellent practitioner in Australia. After resolving a number of traumas from childhood including the terror of getting in to trouble and the fear of what other people think - I cannot speak more highly of EFT. It is transformative, takes only 2-4 sessions and is inexpensive compared to years of therapy. 😊❤
Brilliant Peta! - Your explanation of how and why tapping is so effective is invaluable for lay people and health and education professionals to grasp how revolutionary this simple yet profound tool will be in the years to come. Infinite gratitude to you and all the other researchers leading the way and providing the evidence required.
Excellent and compelling explanation of why EFT is so effective and becoming more accepted. Thank you, Peta, for doing the research to show just how powerful tapping is.
I have been using Tapping ( EFT) for about a year. Tapping helped me with a sleeping issue. I would be able to sleep 4-5 and then wake up to go to the bathroom and not be able to sleep again. I used a sleeping tapping script and changed a few words. I used the script for two weeks and I was able to wake up during the night and then sleep again.. I also had nights when I could sleep threw the night and not wake up at all. I even had a night I slept for 9 hours without waking up during the nigh. I have had tapping help me with so many things and Tap every day... David Anderson
So wonderful to see a clear and meaningful short explanation for this wonderful technique I offer to clients, friends, family to clear their agonies! Yes, clear many life-plaguing problems, pains, challenges.....I couldn't explain it any better so I'm going to send it around the net, right now!!!! Thank you again Peta.
Great to have this information in this form for everyone to see how therapy is evolving and showing the potential for EFT. THANK YOU Dr Peta Stapleton for all your excellent work
Such a great talk Dr Peta. Thank you so much for making waves in this field. You certainly are making an impact on the lives of many. I am so grateful for all the time, and research that you have put into this therapy to have it be recognised as an effective technique moving forward.
Wonderful presentation Peta, this feels like a special moment for those of use that are passionate about spreading the word about this simple, gentle, powerful technique!
This is a brilliant, and simple explanation; loaded with science and your research genius. This is another important presentation in our march to bringing EFT mainstream, where it belongs. EFT exactly fulfills the requirements to change the way difficult memories get stored and thus desensitize their impact in our lives. Thank you so much leading so much important research to validate what we EFT clinicians and EFT educators practice.
Thanks so Much for your work. It really helps some people to try something different when their is conventional research demonstrating the significant effects. Your work is invaluable.
I wonder if now, nearly three years later, the GPs in Australia are aware of the fact that the "gold standard" techniques like CBT are not always the most appropriate, but the only ones available for a Medicare rebate... For clients like mine (those with chronic pain issues) the prolonged therapy with a psychologist often adds to the trauma. However, many of them are unable to afford anything else, as the rebate is only available for one type of therapy...
GREAT ... But i DO WISH Eft proponents would mention Dr Callahan who was the pioneer of this technique with TFT and a dedicated psychologist and whom EFT Practitioners almost NEVER mention or are even aware of .. its really tragic and unethical
@@shirrapop Sorry I dont mean to be rude but it definitely WAS NOT Gary Craig. it was Dr Roger Callahan who was a great humanitarian .. even Gary Craig would say that . .and I think it is absolutely TRAGIC that people think it came from him and hardly anyone knows Dr Callahan .. his technique was called TFT but Gary changed it because he thought it was too complicated and called it EFT> Very sad to hear .. with apologies.
Hi, I am an Occupational Therapist in clinical practice for 28 years.. I have been successfully using EFT in my practice since 2013. I ALWAYS reference Roger and his discovery with Mary and her phobia of water. That is the foundation of my explanation of EFT's origins. I have taught this in public education classes for thousands of people over the years. I agree that being true to the timeline of this history is important.
I'm sorry to hear you had a not so pleasant experience with EFT, maybe perhaps trying something else. Because it didn't work for for doesn't mean that someone else might not benefit from it.
You’re literally just tapping your body and saying positive things. There’s nothing dangerous about it. EFT had nothing to do with what you experienced.

CAn you please help me which session helps with public speaking ?
I came across tapping a few years ago. It worked so well I got trained and certified, and quit my career to focus on sharing the technique.
Do you know any online courses? I'm very interested in different methods of tapping. I personally only know one.
Do you have techniques for anger management?
Yes can you suggest any online course ?

Brilliant Peta, great to see you putting EFT out there and showing its potential for such a wide range of issues. Thank you for all you do x
Fascinating and thanks for explaining tapping 😃❤️
Succinct, comprehensive, as a lay person it gives me confidence when sharing with students and administrators the efficacy of EFT just wonderful.

An inspiring presentation with scientific results on EFT presented in way anyone could understand and get curious about - thank you Dr Stapleton!
Keep up the great work Peta - you are leading us into the future!

Well done! I so appreciate your dedication to effecting change through use of EFT.
Outstanding presentation Dr. Peta Stapleton. Thank you. You certainly made every moment count as you covered a lot of very important information.
Bravo and thank you. Roger Callahan thanks you in perpetuity.
I am taking EFT classes in a few weeks and I can’t WAIT
Congrats!!! A great talk in the path of changing minds and emotions with EFT.
Brilliant Peta; always so grateful for the work you do.
Very interesting. I plan to learn more about this approach.
Super important for our world especially now. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love tapping. It was my salvation when I started having panic attacks about two years ago. What do you know about EMDR?
I heard about this on the internet for d a 4 minute TH-cam to learn tapping and used it to finally quit smoking after 15 hrs
15 yrs of smoking. Quit for good
Well done! Thank you, Peta!

EFT WORKS!!
Good overview and demonstration
This is an excellent summary. Great work being done in this area!
Super interesting!
Can EFT also be used for addiction behaviours such as smoking and drinking?
Absolutely
CBT vs EFT compared. I wonder what they will find when they compare Hypnosis, NLP and EFT.
I suspect EFT will be most powerful as it combines the best elements of all therapies.
Meant that Gary Craig disapproved of EFT on u tube?
Why does the camera keep pulling back when there’s something important on the screen
CBT is useless for trauma
wow!
Does this technique work on sensorimotor ocd ..
It seems all these comments are written by the same person every one is almost the same.
Sounds like magic, I always thought eft was pseudoscience.
I hate EFT with a passion, the therapists give false hope to vulnerable people, they took 1000s off me and it made me feel so much worse,
GREAT ... But i DO WISH Eft proponents would mention Dr Callahan who was the pioneer of this technique with TFT and a dedicated psychologist and whom EFT Practitioners almost NEVER mention or are even aware of .. its really tragic and unethical
The person I believe who created the tapping technique is Gary Craig.

A lot of these new therapies are really dangerous
I did eft and faster eft with master practitioners, they were very expensive but made me a lot worse
I'm sorry to hear you had a not so pleasant experience with EFT, maybe perhaps trying something else. Because it didn't work for for doesn't mean that someone else might not benefit from it.
Clinical EFT and Faster EFT are NOT the same things at all. People can get retraumatized using Faster EFT. Clinical EFT has safeguards in place.
You’re literally just tapping your body and saying positive things. There’s nothing dangerous about it. EFT had nothing to do with what you experienced.
