  • Here's a permanent fix for the problem of the Joy Con coming off the Switch without pressing the release button. I show the full process of replacing the damaged latch with a metal one purchased from eBay.

      Yeah, this is a huge design flaw. My right joycon doesn't completely come off yet, but it's already to the point where it acts as if it's detached if it moves too much, and oh boy is it annoying.
      Switches come with a 1 year warranty so if Nintendo customer support can't or won't fix it then I'm just gonna do it myself and get the metal ones.

      ericbazinga the same thing is happening to me! I was trying to fight a lynel in botw and I couldn’t move link, but it wouldn’t give me one of those “press L+R” screens until AFTER I was pounded into dust.

      Really? I thought the red one coming loose was more common? My red one is noticeably loose compared to my blue joy con (which I am now super careful to press down the release button when inserting and removing the joycon from the switch as an added measure).

      After this happening to mine, I feel like it was because you maybe dropped it? I don’t think this is a normal occurrence when just playing games. I have 3 switches and and one console was straight abused by a family member and both controllers slide off and the screen is super scratched. On my hacked switch, I dropped it the other day and the left joycon hit the floor and slid off. So now I have that problem. I hope you didn’t drop your switch after a week lol

    • @NuyoBoy87
      @NuyoBoy87  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This can also occur from putting the wrist straps on backwards thus, damaging the latches. I'm guilty of doing so from time to time and I'm 100% positive that has contributed to my joycon breaking.

      Standard wear and tear. It's all to do with how forceful you are when you remove the joycon and how far you push the button when you release it. I've had my switch for 2 years now and never had a problem. The only time I had to do this repair was when I bought a pair of faulty joycons to fix.

    I actually have a grip case that holds everything in my Nintendo switch but I’m worried if this does any damage to the joy cons because whenever I try to put my Nintendo Switch into the grip case, the grip case sometimes forces the joy cons to pop our without pressing the buttons in the back, I’m just worried if that does any damage to the joy con itself.

    Can you just take the ones from the joycon grips and switch them for the ones on the joycons?

      @NuyoBoy87  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, the Joycon connect to the grip just like they connect to the screen which doesn't contain latches so, I'm gonna say no.

      @@NuyoBoy87 yea you're right. I wasn't thinking at all when I typed that. I only realized until after I posted it. Sorry about that.

    Does this metal piece fit all joycons? I have some aftermarket ones.

      You got find like the correct. Some latches are different from one another so you’ll have to find one that perfectly replicates yours

    Nice, now all you need to do is fix the joycon drag on the trumb stick and your joycon will work fine
