    Funny how my GameCube controller, which I’ve had for about 15 years, has stood the test of time and still works perfectly with no drift. Keep in mind I’ve thrown it, slammed it and scuffed it up real nice throughout that decade and a half. Now a new, modern, $80 controller is incapable of going a full year without problems arising, even when I haven’t once dropped it and took great care of it. Get your shit together nintendo

    IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
    This is an excellent tutorial for repairing your left joy con but the subtle differences in fixing a right one are enough that can really set you back. Specifically for me the ribbon cable to connect the ZR button to the board threw me off for ages. In your video you say the pins have to be upright so you're looking at them as you connect it. This is near enough impossible to achieve on the right joy con, I spent a lot of time trying to contort the cable in correctly but it wouldn't work. Turns out on the right one you need the pins facing down when you connect it!
    May be worth doing a follow up video on how to achieve the same thing on the right joy con as the little differences are enough to cause a headache!

    • @ArtisChronicles
      @ArtisChronicles 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interestingly I did the right joycon without issue, but I also didn't follow this video. Basically it'll be the left where I'll probably have issues when I eventually do it since I'm used to ribbon cables mostly facing downward.

    Dude thank you so much! I played your video and worked on it step by step, it works great! Note to others buying kits, you need the Y 1.5 screw driver NOT the Y 2.0. I bought the kit that came with both because half of the Amazon comments said negative reviews because their randomly placed screw drivers didn't fit. Be sure to get the right one. This video saved me at least $50 for the new controller when the $10 joystick works fantastically. Bought it on Amazon, in a kit with the tools for like $20 or so. Came with 2 joysticks. I HIGHLY recommend if you are fixing your joycons to listen to this guy and watch his video. Spot on. Thanks again.

    I'm glad I found this because I love Super Mario Maker 2, but the Joy-Con drift makes it unplayable. Mario walks left at complete random. Using the buttons does not help because it still happens on it's own. To be fair, there isn't much room to fit the joystick with how little space there is in the joy-cons.

      @goingdiagonal6693 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ARealmApart Thankfully the video helped, and I am also glad Nintendo does this now. I shouldn't be too hard on them because there isn't much room to fit a joystick with how compact the controllers are.
