It's also important to make sure that NO pistons are in top position, otherwise you will have piston crushing up against valves when you tighten cam shaft.

I don't know if it is correct, but I would put a few drops of oil between every mating surface: like bearing caps, under cam followers etc. because when this engine starts, all those areas will be dry before the oil pump gets oil there. This can cause heat and scoring.
