    Does the audio go silent at some parts for anyone else or is that just me?

    • @cocusahipie

      Jennifer Kwak 다인 I got some silent parts too I think it was edited that way

      +Jennifer Kwak 다인 It honestly is probably just my editing system 😕 it's been giving me a lot of trouble recently so it's been cutting it audio and corrupting video files recently (that's why it took so long to edit and upload this video). I'm sorry!

    I did the spring 17 college program & I have sooo many regrets so I relate to this so much!! I had a lot of stuff going on in my life at the time & I had to go home to deal with it so I self-termed :( I'm happy with my life now so it all worked out for the best but there were so many things I still wanted to do before I left

    Not eating out more was one of my BIG program regrets too! My roommates I guess were more used to a lifestyle of eating out a lot and spending a lot of money but I have a harder time letting myself spend money...I should have let myself have more fun! But course I was also broke LOL
    Saving before you go is, I think, is the best advice you can give. You are so right- you do NOT make money doing this program! You make enough to get by but not enough to really take advantage of all Disney & FL has to offer.
    I understand about have too high of expectations too, and I think that's a great one to point out...I think now there are just so many vlogs out there and people see everyone with amazing roommates and just having the time of their life and the money to do so much, but everyone's program is going to be different.
    I really enjoyed watching all of your vlogs! You seem so down to earth and relatable, I bet your videos will be really helpful to new CPs :)

      +K Wow thanks for your input! It was so thoughtful :) I'm glad that some people had similar experiences as I did and I COMPLETELY agree about seeing people's vlogs and having high expectations! Typically vlogs only show the good sides of things (cuz who wants to vlog sad things?!)

      I'm in a QSR, and I'm already a small person, but I lost about 15 lbs pretty quickly just from all the walking, both while working and on my days off in the parks. Plus, although I still eat junk food, the crazy schedules and long hours mean a lot less snacking for me!

    My boyfriend did Fall 2016 and on his last few days we went on a helicopter ride. It was super fun to be able to see the parks and resorts, but things don't all look prettier from above! Although I'm sure you would have loved it, don't be too hard on yourself about the things you didn't find time/money to do!

    You may have already answered this in another post DCP video.. But given the opportunity, knowing what you know now, would you do it again?? What would you say is the biggest hurdle that would prevent you from doing it again?? Housing, financial, or being away from family?? And for someone who had never even been to the parks prior to this experience, do you think this has soured you from being able to enjoy the parks in the future?? I know that one is kind of deep and almost personal, but I think that would be pretty important to know for someone who loves the parks and is considering applying for the program..

    A lot of major corporations will not give job references because they're afraid of lawsuits if you get a reference that keeps you from getting another job. You should always find someone you worked with who will be willing to give you a job reference without going through the company itself.

      I think it's natural. The build up from applying, to the interview, to moving.... its a lot.. And you build it up in your head. So I think everyone becomes disappointed. Your idea of reality is never like the real thing.

    What were your shifts like as a Character Performer? When I apply, I want to be a parade performer, and I was wondering how those shifts are as well, since there isn't always a parade going on. I'm assuming they hop from park to park in different parades in one day, or at least do all parades in one park per day? How many days off did you get per week? Was giving away shifts a real thing, I have heard that giving them away now isn't really likely. Sorry for so many questions!

    • @arianaammons4534
      @arianaammons4534 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jourdan Waddell being a parade performer as a cp is rare because you are there for such a short time and they look for people who will be there in the long haul. Not to say that it's impossible because some have definitely done it. As for how many parades you do you could only get trained in one parade, you wouldn't get to learn all of them there are many full timers that only know two parades that have been there for a while. It all depends on what they're looking for.

    • @jourdanwaddell9859
      @jourdanwaddell9859 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh okay! Do you know how pay works then, if you're only trained on one parade, and you do that one parade everyday, you wouldn't get many hours. Unless you're cross trained in both fur/face and parade..? Thanks for replying!

    • @arianaammons4534
      @arianaammons4534 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jourdan Waddell you get a basic pay rate when you're hired. You most likely would not do that role everyday. Everyone who is trained in that role gets scheduled different days so it always changes. You could do it everyday one week then once another and then none at all, it just depends. Everyone in entertainment is trained as fur. That is the very first thing you do no matter if you were hired as a dancer, face or whatever, everyone does fur unless told otherwise. If you are a College Program of Full Time you get a basic minimum hours a week. Seasonal or Part Time get whatever is left over. They don't have minimum hours they have to work a week

    Hi!! Can I just ask like what you were let down by? Or like the what didn't meet your expectations bc I watch so many dcp vlogs and want to apply and it seems so amazing but i don't want to go if it's not something like that?? Thanks!!

    • @itsmeelise
      @itsmeelise  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Bethany Cruz I had REALLY, unrealistically high expectations about everything: roommates, living, my job, the hours I would work, money I would make, things I'd be able to do, friendships I'd make, pictures I'd take... like EVERYTHING. So when I realized those things weren't coming true and reality set in I was naturally disappointed by that fact. That doesn't mean I didn't have great time and memories though

    • @bethanycruz2957
      @bethanycruz2957 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elise Ever After thanks for answering I love your channel!! 😭 but I kind of have a vision of how things would be especially after seeing so many fun vlogs from multiple people but I guess any job comes with a down side it just looks so much fun idk what to do 😰 did you have a lot of roommate problems that's one thing I'm worried about that since there's so many people in one house.. did you still make friendships and have a great time and fun like did any of it come true?

    • @itsmeelise
      @itsmeelise  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Bethany Cruz I had fun. But I didn't really prepare myself for any down sides, which are bound to happen in any category of life. I had roommate problems, but they weren't unbearable. It's just all about perspective.

    Hate to sound like a parent (I'm not one), but your regrets sound an awful lot like being out in the real world... :-) Really, except for the high expectations, I'm glad those are the regrets you left with- seems to me like you had a really good program overall, and don't regret going. It's always tough when you have really high expectations for something, and find reality doesn't meet them, but it seems like you're not "blaming" the college program for not meeting them.

    I just applied for the DCP today and I am on submission 😖 is that normal at first?

      Kelsey Harrigan I'm in submission too. It basically means that you've submitted your application. You can get taken out of submission but it's just a loooooong waiting game.

      Thanks Bailey143UK for your answer. I am just so confused about it though. I first time I applied in August it took me half an hour to get a WBI after applying. I used the same job experience and even added more and I though that I have good key words. I just don't know.

      Owl Boy about the way they treat some of the college programers. they show favoritism to some people. also they really don't care about your health for example a girl had an allegric reaction to something and took them a month before they moved her to different location

      @itsmeelise  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that's something I was really disappointed about as well. Working there, you are a number. At one point I called in and all I got was "alright." Literally. No sympathy, nothing. I understand they have a lot to do and I don't need them coddling me, but it would have been nice to hear a "hope you feel better," or "get well." idk. They are just a machine sometimes.

    Were you an engineering student? How was missing a semester of classes was it doable I am one as well and am worried it won't work out

      I am a marketing student. Missing a semester was doable for me because I didn't care if it put me back a semester. In reality I am still completing my school work in the 4 years I'm working on school. During the DCP I didn't take any classes. It was a much needed break from school for me
