What I'm getting out of all of this is dot will accept saliva for a drug test and not just urine but it's really it's up to the company to choose which one they will use for the employees. Basically I'm hoping we do go with the saliva then I can enjoy a couple hits from a vape pen Friday after work and use Saturdays and Sundays for it to leave my system so I should be good by Monday.
As an owner operator, I have to have a C/TPA administer my test… Can I request or demand they use the saliva test or will I have to “shop around” for a new C/TPA that will perform a saliva test on me . As truck drivers, we shouldn’t be demonized if we want to smoke some pot on our off time and still test positive a month later, yet I can get whiskey drunk on every 10 hour break and be able to legally drive the next day. Makes no sense and isn’t right at all

Once I could provide another, I did, he looked at the temp and amount and nodded (all good).. He placed it on the counter and proceeded to fill out the sticker for the cup. When he went to record the temperature he didn't see a reading anymore... He told me I could provide another sample observed and I told him I would if I could but I gave him all I had. Just like that, I got a refusal and lost my job of 11 years..

I’ve stopped smoking for a month and some change and still pissing dirty and I absolutely hate the amount of stress and anxiety. When I'm out on the road and the DOT calls my company owner and says I have to go in for a drug test, the owner will have the option of which test they want to be conducted? I guess I'm not quite clear if this is just for the company when they do their testing, or when I am randomized by the DOT while on the road and have to go to the nearest weigh station/ medical facility if the owner will then have the option. Details still need to be worked out but the standard of which test type you need to take should be set by the employer and then used for all testing as long as that person stays employed at the company
I don't know why Amazon warehouse was drug testing but they did saliva testing. I smoked literally the moment before I took the test and still passed 😂. I didn't really care about getting the job becuase it's literally warehouse job. I quit after 2 weeks because it wasn't worth it. If they doing saliva test, you don't even need to worry

Don’t waste your money. The ONLY thing that works is time. I wasted over 500 bucks on detox, vitamins and urine tests, doctor visits last summer. It took a full 45 days to get rid of the THC. I even followed this doc’s plan to the letter and it did not work.

my state was giving grants for local private cdl mills just to get people off food stamps. Avoid ending up being an indentured servant just to get a cdl, trucking isn't a good place to be anymore. Take some welding classes or something, dodge the bullet

As soon as the FMCSA certifies 2 labs to perform the tests you should be able to select to have those labs perform saliva. Good question!

The mines in the US also follow the DOT guidelines for drug testing.
