The RTX 2080 is better because of the newer Turing architecture so it aged better (except VRAM amount). These features are Async Compute and Mesh Shader support. Good Video.
Perfect video to show the difference between Pascal and Turing. Here the Turing 2080 has fewer cores, less bandwidth, lower clocks, lower power use. And kills the Pascal 1080 Ti in performance in all the newer DX12 titles. However, Pascal is still competitive in the 2 older DX11 games.

I wonder how much extra performance you could get out of running a couple hundred Mhz clock on the 2080. I have an EVGA 2080 and it pushes 1995 Mhz at its fastest and if its cool during winter, it goes up to 2025 and it can push up to 250 watts...about as much as the 1080 Ti
Depends what you play. In DX12 here the 2080 is 22% faster than the 1080 Ti, and coincidentally it's 22% faster than the 2070 (see TPU reviews). So the 1080 Ti only matches the 2070 in current DX12 games. But then the 1080 Ti is as fast as the 2080 in the 2 older DX11 games here which is great. Older DX11 games are the 1080 Ti's strength.
@@lewzealand4717 Don't treat the gtx 1080 ti like garbage. I used both the 2070 super and the 1080 ti, but the performance is the same in any game, whether dx12 or dx11. Don't compare it to garbage gpu like the 2070.

TPU's tests show that the 2080 is also 22% faster than the 2070. Your claims are nice but I see side by side tests coming from NJTech and TechPowerUp which are far more convincing. Deny all you want but 1080 Ti = 2070 in DX12.

@@Ziyoblader $290 for the 4060 is almost twice the price of a 1080 Ti and 60% more than the 2080. That's a big ask for many people.
