Visited the Costco in Machesney Park, IL today. Best offerings were OGD14 for $26 and Heaven Hill 7 Year BIB for $39.99. 🥃
Heaven hill is at every Costco I’m sure of it!
LOVE the Costco visits! Your store visits are always great.
Thanks man!
I have had some nice 1792 FP picks and I have had those that drank crazy hot. It’s so hit or miss. Some I have purchased turned into cocktail whiskey, some were great neat. Cheers
Another banger of a Costco video! Pretty soon here you’ll be the United States leading authority on Costco liquor departments 😂. $22 for buffalo trace is a great buy, probably the second biggest steal in the store, just behind the 1792 you picked up! Great video Patrick
Haha Costco is fun for liquor hunting. Mostly always great prices too.
BT is that price everywhere in L.V. (+8.375% tax) $21.97 at Sam's Club & no membership needed to buy hooch. Local grocery store has the barrel select pics for $22.78.
Wow, that's a lot of Buffalo Trace! Although I have seen quite a lot of it in Colorado lately. As for the 1792 store pick, that is a fantastic price for a really excellent bottle. I'd probably pick up two of them! Cheers Patrick!
If I wasn’t traveling I probably would have Rene!
Definitely get the Peerless...if you like OGD 114
Thanks for the info
Surprised this video didn’t get more views. Fun always seeing different Costcos
We released a few at that time. Maybe for some it got a little repetitive but everyone left awesome comments.
I would have bought at least 4 bottles of that Kirkland Islay. So good. If that Buffalo Trace is a pick those are great.
Sadly it was not a pick. Otherwise I would have picked up a few!
@@TheWhiskeyCove We had the Islay one time and they haven’t gotten it back since. I’ve had three different BT picks and they were all great.
Nice full proof pick up Patrick. Cool Vegas pick!
Thanks for watching west ham
Nice to see a channel hunt at Costco! Keep up the great content.
Thanks Bryan
Please go get that Peerless, it's great and the story/history behind the family that owns it is really cool. Very much worth going on the tour if you are in Louisville.
Thank you for the recommendation!
Thank you for posting this early for me!!
My absolute pleasure.
Yes, you should've picked up a few of those Peerless bourbons. Those go for $81.99 in Ohio, a control state.
I think I should have. A lot of food saying good things about them on this video.
Thank you for doing these vids!! There is no other way I know of to find a store's inventory & prices except for the few stores that have websites with liquor on it (none for Costco, that I know of). Oh, I've seen people posting online of some Costcos having stuff like Old Forester SiB Barrel Strength picks. Only called 1 store & they never had that, but said they sold 30 bottles of the last Larceny Barrel Proof A124 in 2 days for $50.
I love to do them too! It’s always like a little treasure hunt. Sam’s has great prices but wish they did a little better with their whiskey selection. Cheers
Peerless is excellent IMO, decent price too. In NY it ranges from low 50s to near 80, although I've grabbed a few for 39, which was amazing. It comes in a serious bottle with a heck of a topper to boot. Great price on the BT too.
One thing I’ve learned from this video is that I need to get into Peerless! Thanks for the recommendation!
Peerless is really good and around $85 in the Pacific Northwest. If you enjoy the Eagle Rare profile, I think you would enjoy Peerless. Classic bourbon notes done very well, but nothing too complex.
Thanks for the advice. I think I’ve always seen peerless as something I couldn’t just pull the trigger on. I think I’ll need to buy a pour at a local bar.
@@TheWhiskeyCove If you ever buy a bottle on Bourbon Outfitters, I think they sell the 375 ml, at least that's where I got mine. Also picked up a mini New Riff which got me excited to buy a single barrel.
Nice views - and curious, which store were you in? Some nice ones and yes, that 1792 would be in my cart as well. I always pick up that Islay Scotch - $39 for an Islay Single Malt (pretty sure that was at 50%) and its always been a really good summer sipper - or add some ginger ale to it over ice - very good. Hopefully it will come out west here to CA soon. Also, on the standard selections, they all seem to be about $5 more than here in CA, but who knows...thanks again and cheers! Yeah, don't even bother looking for whiskey in UT - even the state stores are sad. Go to Park City if you like High West and get it from their store.
The one I went to I think was the 791 Marks st Henderson. Had so great options and prices!
the Peerless is a good buy at that price, I have seen the smoke wagon uncut around, it it any good?
The smoke wagon is very good. It’s higher abv so not for everyone.
great pickup for that full proof.
Killer prices on the 1792 FP and especially on the BT compared to here. I’ll be out there for work in April. Will have to see if can find anything worth putting in my checked bag.
Hopefully they will have some good stuff for you!
That Yellowstone price is very good. The cheapest I've seen it for is 34$
I would have gotten a few of the full proof and for 21 I would have got a case of the BT. If nothing else for gifts. They had some solid bottles.
They did have some solid picks. Crazy amount of buffalo trace. Luckily for me we find these frequently in Colorado.
I had no idea that the peerless small batch is 110 proof for their standard offering!
That must be why it's about 60-70 bones.
It's a little pricey for me. Whish it was cheaper to get into it. Maybe I can still find a good deal on it.
Plenty of Buffalo Trace in Western WA for between $24-$30. Smoke Wagon uncut unfiltered is around $100, even at Total Wine. Crazy.
Damn. I don’t think I’ve seen smoke again at that price for some time. It’s everywhere in Colorado for msrp even the single barrel picks.
Here in Indiana you have to know somebody to get a $40 buffalo trace
And they have pallets of the stuff in Nevada for $22!!! It’s crazy.
Don't get the hype on BT. Couple days ago reluctantly got a bottle of the BT barrel select #075 for $22.78. Did a blind tasting & it lost to EW BiB ($27.99 1.75L) & Very Old Barton 100P. Just slightly beat EW 86P. BT does clearly have the best nose of those 4.
If you haven't already, there are many options that many people think are better & lower cost that BT. Pretty much all the value 100P stuff. If you want exactly 90P the EW 1783 90P 6-8yr is supposed to be real good & can buy 1.75L for $30-35. If you try it, let me know how it compares to BT. Last time I had EW 1783, was the old version when it was 86P.
Your Costco here has some great bourbons. And side note that HH BIB is 70$ bones on base here in WA!
Just seen its Vegas nvm...
$70 bones. Were they were a black and white stripped jersey? That's crazy talk.
Can you let us know how that 1792 Full Proof is? Since it's Single Barrel, some can be great or not so much, or really hot.
I’ve am generally not a big fan of the full proof however this one is not ethanol hot bomb but does drink its abv.
@@TheWhiskeyCove Thanks, unfortunately they don't have those anymore. You must have went there a long time before posting the vid. The Costco people at that store said those were a 1 off thing & have no plans to ever get them again...
I'm currently looking for the Kirkland SiB 120P 1L $30 made by Barton 1792. If you ever did a review of that, please send the link or when it was posted & I should be able to find it. Thanks
I just noticed that you need to know what prices are actually good. Woodford 1.75 at Total wine in Vegas is only $.10 more than at the Costco. Interesting there is no price difference.
I feel total wine charges a lot more for their store picks. I’ve seen double the price for some stuff.
Also, BT in L.V. is everywhere at that price, including store picks for $22.78. Even less at Sam's Club & no membership needed.
@@TheWhiskeyCove Yes, looks like they do. Their BT store pick is $28+ & standard is $22. The ECBP pick is $90+ at TW. Though online the OF SiB BS is $90, though out of stock now.. The BT store pick at grocery store is same price as standard BT $22-23.
the LV Nevada Costcos, (Plural!) Never, and I Do mean Never!, have Kirkland Islay Single Malt in stock! and it’s frustrating as Hell.
I've seen that here in Colorado. Have the trued their Macallan imitation?
Illinois Costco never gets buffalo trace
Looks like Nevada got it all!
