More info: They put a 30 day "movement" permit on the car, and said in 10-15 days I will get stuff to bring to the dmv to register it and get plate.
FAQs from below:
Where will you park? On the street near my home or in the nearby casinos for free.
How much is insurance? I got full coverage with not too big deductible for $233/mo, Progressive (the cheapest of my search) high was Geico at almost DOUBLE that price.
Did you pay Cash? Yes, I got a cashier check from the bank.
What about DMV Registration fees? For Clark County the fee is estimated to be $458 .. estimate from here: dmvapp.nv.gov/dmv/vr/vr_estimate/vrestimationinput.aspx
What about SMOG Test? Because I reside in Vegas, there is smog requirement, but NEW cars are exempt for 3 registrations.
@@dannythemedic they make you go to DMV? In NY, the dealer does all that for you. You get a temp tag to drive off the lot, then go back, usually in a couple weeks, to pick up your plates from the dealer.

The Costco program is legit. I'm not a member, but my buddy bought a new Ram pickup a couple years ago through Costco and got a great deal compared to what he would have paid otherwise.

Yes Vegas has SOME crazy drivers here. People on pain meds, geriatric drivers who can't see/hear with slow reaction times, people hungover from staying up all night drinking (or maybe they're still drunk), or just downright selfish and aggressive drivers.
BUT....
It's not as bad as you think. I would estimate that 90% of drivers here are actually GOOD and POLITE. I'm shocked too. I moved to Vegas from Washington a year ago and I'm pleasantly surprised at how nice most people in the valley are.
People in some of the other states like Washington, Oregon, and California are way worse.

Back in 1995, we bought a Plymouth from a local dealer as BJs Wholesale Club members (similar to Costco). Very fair deal. 3 years later we did the same for our second car, same dealer and sales rep. Saved a lot of frustration and anxiety. Congrats Danny.

You are smart to get a car with that Vegas heat. I lived in Dallas for 5 years with similar heat, no way I could have survived on public transportation in that Texas heat. Now I live and work in suburban Indy where the bus line stops at the county line, so you have to drive out here. Danny, Congrats on your new car!

Danny,I'm glad you bought a car.You seem very happy with it and your buying experience with Troy seems to have been very positive.I have lived out here for 40 years and this is by far the hottest summer I have ever seen.I am a non driver and have managed somehow with the help of friends but you REALLY need a car out here.Riding buses gets old very fast.I hope you will be very happy with your new car.Besides,once the weather cools down,you can still use the bus if you wish even though you now have a car.Enjoy and good luck.

My current vehicle is a 2011 Dodge Journey(bought new) that is still running great with only 115,000. Km. . But, looking to get a new Toyota next year. Thanks for sharing the whole experience. Congrats on the new car! Buying through Costco, or online is the way to go. The last car I purchased was online. They gave me a good deal. Great thinking purchasing on video as it keeps the salesman honest. Hope you can drive to California again soon when I find the illegal Kwan Loong oil for you. Have fun with your Kia Soul. Congrats Danny! That should be a good car for you. My wife had a Soul for 4 years and it was 100% trouble-free - just put gas in it + oil changes, that was it - still on original tires, battery, brakes at 50k miles when it was traded in.

In 2019 when we bought a new Toyota Camry for my wife we checked out the Costco auto program but we were able to find a dealer who beat the price. They tried to make it up in the financing department but that was when I whipped out my 2.46 APR pre-approval from Navy Federal Credit Union.
I've had my eye on a Kia Soul for a while now. It's a beautiful car - very good choice, Danny 👌

Danny, congratulations on your new car purchase. I hope you asked for the military discount as well. Now you have to check all your casino rewards cards to see which ones give you free parking.
Fountainbleu, MGM, Caesars all give me free Valet parking and self parking. I think Resorts World is free parking for Elite and above, but I don't go there much. Just another thing to consider, now that you have your own "wheels" and the freedom that goes with it.
Good job Danny! I sold cars for 10 years in Seattle at a few different lots including a couple years as a internet sales manager. Costco definitely has a solid deal. Back then it was only a few hundred dollar profit for the dealer. Troy seemed like a good dude, definitely lots of shady salesmen out there. The Kia is great for numerous reasons. First it's made in Korea ( Vin number should start with a k ) so it will be almost maintenence free up to 100k miles. They have decent resale value ( resale value important when you go to trade it or of its totaled) and that soul actually has a ton of room. I'm 6-2 230 lbs and I fit just fine. Only knock is the bad visibility on the back corners. Overall for not knowing the process of buying a car you nailed it. Good job.

Congratulations Danny on your new car. If you have not already done so, besides immediately buying car insurance, you need to buy AAA roadside service even though you have a new car because you may get a flat tire or a blown tire from a pothole or some drunk driver hits your car.
Buy the mid-level (100 mile tow) or the highest level membership (200 mile tow). The cheapest membership only gives you a free tow for 5 miles and anything after 5 miles, you have to pay the towing truck.
I haven’t looked into it yet, but the new Kia came with a five-year roadside assistance plan

Danny I a 2022 new kid soul. Loved it ran good good milage ice cold air. I delivered catering with it. I sold back to the dealer in 2023 for a profit.

We bought a used 2015 soul from Findlay. Happy with the car. Surprisingly big inside, reliable. $26k for new soul is a very good deal. 2012 kia sedona van we drove it till 250k very hard miles until transmission went out.
I’ll be in town soon. Thinking of maybe the first week of September.
