Really good explanations about these ball motions! On this pattern it looks like the Ascent would be the starter with the Ion as the second, while the PII sits all lonely in the bag. One thing I didn't think about until recently was the fact that for EQUAL VOLUMES of oil on the lane, the solids would likely burn up more on long patterns because there is actually less oil earlier on the lane and they get all "used up". From what I've seen with many that used the original Summit is that it would just hook earlier and burn up, especially on mid-longer patterns. Just my take FWIW.
Beef Stu, i'm looking at the bowling balls on the rack. Do i see the new Optimum Idol Pearl sitting between the Optimum Idol and Phaze 2? LOL Also, how would you compare this ball to the X-Cell? Thanks for the review
Yeh, it’s a battle for sure. We have been experimenting with lens, cameras, different angles, all to try and show a better perspective. It’s much easier to see ball motion in person, rather than on video unfortunately
Beef Stu low speed 12 mph senior 205 average use the phase ll but seems a little strong. Would you say because of my speed should I drill it pin down or pin up
Depending on your track. I’m a higher track player and pretty much only drill asymmetrical balls down. With your slower speed I would think you will see more downlane motion out of ascent than Phaze 2, with same layout
Those two-pin conversions from the back of the approach were great! 😂 This looks like a great ball but probably too weak for me being speed-dominant/lower-rev lefty. Time for some more coaching. 🤔
Same reason I hate the Original Summit. Too Strong on the house shot and it reacts like a Big Solid Asym, It Burns up and i leave lot of Flat 10's! BUt just had the Ion Pro drilled! so excited about that one!
4 minutes and 12 seconds into this video and I’m already liking this ball better than the Phaze II this Summit Ascent is going in my tournament bag for sure
Yeh, but I would see it more of a different shape rather than ball down. More of an either or type of thing. Absolute power will be more forward downlane, ascent will be more rounded from what I’ve seen
So it's basically an iq tour with a beefed up core. I really like my iq tour and am in the hunt of a ball up from it. Not sure what to get. Maybe this one is a consideration.
@@2AChef-n-BBQ 🤣🤣 Good one. Well in other news, did you see Stu trying to hide that Optimum Idol Pearl behind the other bowling balls on the rack? Then at the end of the video, the optimum idol pearl found it's way on the same side of the camera with the logo showing lol. I can't wait to watch the review of that one.
Great explanation about balls burning up versus not being "strong enough"... that is something I struggle with from time to time
IM cryin. Stu makin those splits look like a walk in the park with no effort. 🤣🤣
Great explanations on ball motions with what’s burning up and how to tell using the other equipment. Thanks beef Stu!
Happy to help!

Pink and Purple!!!! That is so pretty
It is!
Can't wait to see the Optimum Idol pearl video if my eyes are correct on what is on the rack

It is the idol. This is kinda a symmetrical version of xcell. Xcell is definitely earlier and more hook though
Great looking ball. You make it look too easy 😮. All your ball shapes look the same to me.

Nice couple lane play tips in there. Ball rolled good for you. I almost got the summit peak but never pulled the trigger. Hmmmm 🤔
Thanks. Feel like this one is more versatile than the peak
Good stuff
Would the ascent be a good replacement for the exponent gonna be looking for one since exponent is discontinued to be used with phaze 2 as a 1,2 punch

So assyms have lower diff, correct?
Are you Beef Stu just today? LOL. I like the video!

Always good to have variety in the bag…. And some coaching never hurts!
How does it compare to the Xponent?
Would you say this ball is similar to the now discontinued xponent solid? Great vid as usual
I think the ascent is a decent bit stronger overall
Same reason I hate the Original Summit. Too Strong on the house shot and it reacts like a Big Solid Asym, It Burns up and i leave lot of Flat 10's! BUt just had the Ion Pro drilled! so excited about that one!
This one looks better than the first Summit! 😁
Definitely for me!
4 minutes and 12 seconds into this video and I’m already liking this ball better than the Phaze II this Summit Ascent is going in my tournament bag for sure
Thanks
Great review! Been excited for this. Would this be first ball out of bag or transition?
First for me. Think you will be able to use it for longer before needing to change though
@@BeefandBarnzy thank you so much for the reply!! 🙏 going to be ordering mine tomorrow!!
Will this be a good ball down option from the Absolute Power?
Yeh, but I would see it more of a different shape rather than ball down. More of an either or type of thing. Absolute power will be more forward downlane, ascent will be more rounded from what I’ve seen
@@BeefandBarnzyAny suggestion then of a good second ball out of the bag behind the Absolute Power? I currently go from that to a VEBO or Fate.
How does this compare to the original Xponent?
Few boards more hook. Summit ascent is just more ball
How does this compare to the original summit and summit peak ?
Fits in between. Probably a better compliment to peak than original though
Sooo let's talk about that Idol Pearl sitting next to the Optimum Idol :)
Be patient, coming later in the week 😂
Good one Stu. So there is room for the Phaze 2 and Summit Ascent in the same bag?
Depends how many balls. In a 6 ball bag probably not
So it's basically an iq tour with a beefed up core. I really like my iq tour and am in the hunt of a ball up from it. Not sure what to get. Maybe this one is a consideration.
I think this is a good bridge from iq tour to Phaze 2.
Is this ball good for drier lanes ??
No, this is more designed for medium to heavy oiled lanes. Check out the lightning blackout or hustle range for drier lanes
I’m thinking you just threw the phase 2 worse Stew.
That is kinda what I’ve been seeing out of the Phaze 2 in comparison.
Shouldn't an englishman be proficient in speaking English???😂🤣😂
Proficient in the queen's English, not this raggedy stuff we call English 😂
@@CasualGamerPlays the Queen is dead, ascent isnt raggedy, thats proper english, but poor Stu is brain cramping 😝

Lol
Symmetrical Code X? R2S solid on Code X cracked on every one of the X I had. R2S solid has me twice shy.
Usually the core has more to do with cracking than the coverstock , in my experience
