Ahh, yo I hope it's the same for me too! Recently I've been starting to REALLY get in to The Strokes and I listen their music everyday. Whereas in other cases if I listened to something everyday, I got sick of it. Crossing my fingers that doesn't happen with these guys!
I must first say that your pro pic is fucking hilarious. Now about those strokes, I do also hope that you never get sick of listening to them. There were a couple of songs that I didn't like at first but after listening to them I eventually did. One of them was machu pichu* and I know im not spelling it correctly but I like it now. If you do get tired of listening to them don't worry cause the end has no end.
Haha, thank you! And yes I 100% agree about not liking some songs at first. The same thing happened to me with Machu Picchu as well. I wasn't fond of it AT ALL the first time I heard it. I listened to it again a few days later and I thought it was wonderful and really catchy, I was confused to why I thought it sucked before. Similar case with Call Me Back. ik this is an old comment but i totally get what you mean. at first their songs sounded to me like generic rock songs (not necessarily meaning it's bad, just sounds common) but it goes on a different direction you don't expect it to and it sounds even better than it already is😂
They just use tools and techniques a lot of radio pop music doesn’t use, but has always been a choice. A song can go in so many directions, a lot of older music utilises this, it’s a lot of modern music that’s become so uniform and unchanging throughout...

As someone who works with airborne laser scanning data (lidar) in forestry, never thought my love for the Strokes would intersect with my job!

This is one of those bands that made the critics sever, two main opinions sprang out: someone thought that The Strokes were a new way of embodying rock while someone else immediately tried to turn down their efforts because of a personal bias or a sort of jealousy towards their spontaneous approach! Getting into their music deeply you can figure out that supplying such a charge of emotions and concentrating on the tunes that way weren't easy and being appreciated is a hard journey for a different band. The development of a new subgenre often disappoints the listener whose faith plods; sometimes the hidden love comes out after a few listens but in some situations that spark will never get triggered unless you dig for grasping the coherent sentiments of the music creators.
I'm just saying, considering their backgrounds, they could've done better. Julian himself seems pretty salty about everything related to The Strokes.

No matter how much time goes by, I always end up going back to the Strokes
I was studying late one night when I first played this song. Seeing as it was a quiet study area, I desperately tried to fight the suddenly sprouting tears, but my throat started to choke up. Before I knew it I was gasping for breath and had to leave the room.
Still absolutely love this song and have replayed it so many times since then- sometimes with a smile, other times a sigh.

at this point there was no guarantee that Julian and The Strokes would be legendary. Julian Casablancas kept hustling and making great music to ensure The Strokes were the conduit for his songwriting. 12 years ago he wouldn't have imagined he'd be in the best two Daft Punk songs ever written because he had earned his voice.

Ive always loved you guys even when I didnt know I did. The strokes is my youth n my teenage dream when I was in my 10s. I was so afraid of things around me and also attracted to them at the same time. It was such hard time for me but u guys’ music made me get through those periods.
Now im in my 20s and Im still unstable.
