Never been this early, just wanted to thank you for all of your Credit insight you’ve given us. I just turned 21 and I already have the Amex Gold card among other cards with a 758 credit score. I appreciate the videos.

Good idea, I'll break it down with the math in a video! Cash back has a floor value and no upside (can still be good though when optimizing the spending categories at 3-5% back). Cards that earn flexible bank bank points have more upside if you know how to redeem them and can be flexible in travel plans (but not everyone wants to do this or learn this which is understandable).

Hi Daniel, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and you’ve helped me out tremendously throughout the past year. New sub here. I am enjoying your content. Discover was my first card some 30 years ago (currently it is my supplemental card). Currently, I am looking for a card with better multipliers. Thinking about either the Chase Unlimited or Flex to start the Chase trifecta. Somewhere down the road I will probably get the Preferred since I want to travel more. Thanks for information.
should you spend across all credit cards you have or should you use just one for everything? i have about 15 credit cards but i use maybe 2 or 3, i pay the balances off every month. love your channel and your info is the most logical i have viewed.
Chase needs to update their multipliers. I want to get chase but it just doesnt make sense for me. I may fly 1-3 times max a year. I need some other rewards/incentives than just flying. as of right now im just wanting the citi trifecta. That strata premier is awesome.

@daniel I’m trying to teach my parents how to reach the level 3at least. They only use starter cards and max them out. Which level 2 would be good for them to increase credit limit and how to I approach them with the idea of having a higher limit card without them going crazy on spending?
Off topic about the Bilt Card, but I am very curious if it does eventually come through that we can use it for mortgage payments and earn if nothing else, points for transferring out to Hyatt, etc. Of course, if the answer is yes, some other benefit likely will go. I am very interested in seeing what happens.

you should be able to get it later on if you pay off everything, but amex also has a apply with confidence so you’ll know if you’re approved or not without catching that hard ding
Definitely focus on paying off all account balances and collections before getting any additional credit cards. Build up an emergency fund of cash savings first as well - but once you're score is doing good then you can look into the Blue Cash Everyday
Getting married soon about to spend 40k at a Hyatt for destination Currently have Amex Platinum business Chase Saphire prefered Would u recommend doing hyatt card or what crard to use ?
Me currently I’m currently on a beginner card I have a secured card with my local bank and got recently approved for the CFF and am looking into getting the CFU when I can. I really want to utilize the chase trifecta for traveling to help with a few of the expenses. I’m not sure if going for the BILT card once I get the CFU or wait and get the CSP? I rent so I feel like it would be more beneficial but I am also looking to travel next year in the summer. So I don’t know what would work better.
I'd look to go with the CSP first because you can get the sign up bonus of at least 60,000 points after $4,000 of spend. If you're rent was $2,000 per month, you'd have to pay rent for 30 months to earn the same 60,000 Bilt points (obviously the higher your rent, the more valuable Bilt becomes). So Bilt is a nice card to add after going for Chase cards - but I'd prioritize Chase and Capital One first in my opinion
Is BILT even going to be offered next year? Let me know if I fell behind on the news, but it wasn't that long ago that everyone was talking about how the card was going to go away due to it costing WF so much money.
I’ve personally explored options in expanding my card setups in different bank/transfer partner ecosystems. So maybe getting the Amex Gold (very strong for groceries/dining) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred (decent amount of spending multipliers) to expand your options for transfer partners since you’re only in Capital One’s right now.
I'm having difficulty getting approved for "Beginner Cards" since I'm still a student with no income. I do have a FICO score of 766 atm with my 5 year Discover It card. Do I need to wait until I have a job with income in order to get approved for these? I want to climb the ladder as well but seem stuck. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks for the videos!
I’ve been getting offers from chase sapphire preferred an the business ink, capital one to get the venture and Amex offers for their gold/platinum/rose gold cards. Right now i have a chase freedom unlimited and an old capital one platinum card, idk what i should get next chase trifecta, Amex card or capital one venture card 😅
Chase cards make sense to get first while under the 5/24 rule. Then you can try out that setup for a year to see if you like it while getting those bonuses - and later on you can expand to other issuers like Capital One next and eventually Amex if those cards make sense with their credits
Im still sad C1 will never let me have a venture x because i have too many accounts (im on card 9). They only offer for me to apply for the venture one 😒
Why would I have a 7k limit on a Venture Rewards card but then just yesterday only be approved for a Savor One card with a $300.00 limit? Seems horrible
I have discover it since 11 months and capital one platinum since around 7 months, my credit score is 745 and im planning to get amex gold card what do u think?
That’s what happen to me. Getting denial for a Venture X while having good credit and a high income is now a compliment 😂 Congrats, you’re financially responsible!
The Citi Custom Cash earns 5x Thank You Points which can be turned into cash back at a rate of 1 point = 1 cent. Or they can be combined with the Citi Strata Premier where you can transfer points to redeem at potentially higher values if you know how to book award travel with different hotel and airline programs
Usually is recommended to get another credit card after 6 months of use with your first credit card. Your credit history would then average between both credit cards.
I'd say 6-12 months, whatever you're comfortable with. Focus on building good habits with card 1 more than anything else, and then eventually move on to better cards in year 2
@@Daniel_Braun Okay thank you for the advice! I’m actually in my third year with this discover card and no missed payments. Could I make the move? Would it hurt my credit?

Can anyone confirm if the cards that have multipliers on gas and grocery work at places like Sam's Club and Costco? From what i've read, I don't think those places are eligible.
Most cards that are grocery stores don’t work on superstores like Walmart and target but most work on supermarkets. It really depends what they categorize their business as. For gas I use Sam’s and it does work as long as you have the cc linked to the sams mobile app and use it at the gas pump I don’t have Costco but I imagine it’s the same
@@Daniel_Braun What do you think about the Sam’s Club Mastercard if I can’t get good returns from this retailer with other credit cards? Doesn’t seem bad with 5% back on gas and club purchases, just wanted your input.
A fine Level 2 option to add for Costco members! I can't mention every card, and this is also a cash back focused card so there's less options with it compared to flexible point cards. Still a great card for gas, dining, and Costco!
It’s not rated above others - the annual fee is just higher and there’s more potential benefits. Thats sort of the idea with the credit card ladder and this video - as the annual fees increase, so do the potential benefits and value. But also the potential market gets narrower because not everyone will find the card good for their situation, like you said

Long term, yes I agree the multipliers are better on some other cards. Sort term, it makes sense to at least try out Chase cards because there is a ton of value on the table. Hyatt is definitely an advantage that Chase has - without Hyatt, a lot would change for the way the Chase Trifecta is viewed

Most cards that are grocery stores don’t work on superstores like Walmart and target but most work on supermarkets. It really depends what they categorize their business as. For gas I use Sam’s and it does work as long as you have the cc linked to the sams mobile app and use it at the gas pump I don’t have Costco but I imagine it’s the same
Ususally wholesale clubs don't code as grocery stores - not sure about gas for Sam's Club specifically
@@Daniel_Braun What do you think about the Sam’s Club Mastercard if I can’t get good returns from this retailer with other credit cards? Doesn’t seem bad with 5% back on gas and club purchases, just wanted your input.
Why did not you mention the Citi Costco Card?
A fine Level 2 option to add for Costco members! I can't mention every card, and this is also a cash back focused card so there's less options with it compared to flexible point cards. Still a great card for gas, dining, and Costco!
Does Amex gold work at Costco?
No you can’t. Costco also counts as a wholesale club and not a grocery store, so it wouldn’t earn 4x points anyway
Costco does not accept Amex.
Net worth 1,000,000 or 850 credit score??
1mil not even a choice
Why is the platinum rated above others??? It's not prestigious or a good card for most the people who have it
It’s not rated above others - the annual fee is just higher and there’s more potential benefits. Thats sort of the idea with the credit card ladder and this video - as the annual fees increase, so do the potential benefits and value. But also the potential market gets narrower because not everyone will find the card good for their situation, like you said
With the recent data breach, are you concerned about your ssn getting stolen and your credit messed up? Should we freeze our credit?
I heard chase isn’t that good of a bank

How to get black card
I really hope someone can send me their black card to unbox and review for the channel! Would love to make an in depth video on it
Chase multipliers are complete trash. All they have is Hyatt.
My advice would be to stay away from Chase credit cards because they have the worst categories.
👍🏻
Thanks as always for stopping by and watching!
Yeah, none of your followers are going to end up with a Centurion card.
