I hate when people try to say that the show was too complicated, just because some adults had no idea what was happening, doesn’t mean that kids couldn’t follow along
I was 28 when the show came out. I love it. Another great show that came out in the 90's(96) was Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys, but it only got one season.
Oh wow... you just took me down memory lane with that one. I was a freshman in high school and was pretty impressed... then disappointed after the cancellation.
@@Cavillier1970 This is the part when someone might raise the stakes saying she'd look fine with nothing on at all, buuut I'd call that self-evident, wouldn't you?
Yes, Avery Brooks played Nokkar, an alien soldier sent to Earth to stand watch on Easter Island for an alien invasion. An invasion that would have eventually come in the spinoff set in the future. And which would have crossed over with Timedancer, as Brooklyn visited it during his journey thru time.
Jordan Stuteville I liked to imagine what Puck was doing before he was summoned by Demona with that margic mirror she had. I know that Xantos learned that his butler, Owen, was Puck.
Gargoyles is one of my favorite series growing up. It taught me so much about being aware of my surroundings, and of people. It was made for kids, but didn't filter it as such. Kids do understand adult conversation and ideas, this show is proof.
@@brookswilliams5239 I know why. She's a jerk who is just reading a script and didn't watch the series. I hope her husband keeps putting expired milk in the fridge.
I’ve been a Gargoyles fan since it first aired! I love that Lord of the Rings and TMNT vibe that the show brings! Thanks to Disney +, I can now watch the entire series again. Now, I do believe that The Gargoyles deserve a live action reboot movie to help bring their popularity back on track, so hopefully when Disney is done with Star Wars, they can make it happen. 😊👍
Nah, live action would be creepy, weird, and bad. It'd also be hard to create a live action movie without just re-doing the first 5 episodes. It would probably be a lot like The Last Airbender movie.
Gargoyles Success is due to Star Trek because that played an integral part with the show. Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Nichelle Nichols, William Morgan Sheppard, Avery Brooks, Brent Spiner, Paul Winfield, Kate Mulgrew, David Warner to name few really contributed to the show. The likeness of William Ryker from Star Trek The Next Generation was the basis for David Xanatos. You even had other incredible actors like Keith David, Thom Adcox Hernandez, Bill Faggerbake, Jeff Bennett, Clancy Brown, Cree Summer, Matt Frewer, Laura San Giacomo, Salli Richardson Whifield, Jim Cummings, Scott Cleverdon, Diedrich Bader, Frank Welker, John Rhys Davies, Rocky Carroll also were incredible in the roles they played. David Xanatos had that Lex Luthor quality and for him power and control was an obsession. Seeing him always trying to figure out a way some get control over the Gargoyles was a nice recurring theme during the first 2 seasons of Gargoyles.
That may have gotten more people to look at the show. They stayed for the story. I still use the Gargoyles show as a benchmark for judging good stories.
@@TheDurid1 I was just thinking the same thing. I write mysteries and if there's one thing I've learned its this; you can have Hollywood's hottest stars, have Stephen Spielberg & George Lucas directing & producing, John William & the London Philharmonic doing the music, Industrial Light & Magic doing the SFX, but if you don't have a good story that dog ain't gonna hunt.
Raghu Seetharaman you forgot Colm Meaney, who played Chief O’Brien, voiced the father of a young man that met Goliath and friends on their world hopping journey in “The Hound of Ulster.”
@@Cavillier1970 *cough* The Phantom Menace *cough* OK, it's not a bad movie (nor was Spielberg involved) , but it is right up there with "Attack of the Clones" and "The Last Jedi" as the weakest Star Wars movies to date.
Gargoyles statues where not just water spouts, they were statues that protected the buildings they were build on and it was believed they scared away evil spirits.
LOVED this show!! Having Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis as part of the cast was just fab. Keith David is a god. His voice and physical bearing in movies is so compelling.
especially the ending where Goliath & Elisa finally give into their feelings. Now this should have been a true leaping off point for another major arch or two
@@Bxgodson2fl2 Had I been brought in to write for S3 I think I'd have at least started like this; keep the Quarrymen- develop the relationship w/ Goliath and Elissa, Demona becoming pathologically jealous not understanding how Goliath could fall in love w/ a human and attempts to kill Elissa throughout S3 leading to final showdown- perhaps an enemy of Oberon's coming after Alexander and Xanatos and the clan must stop the threat- doing something with the New Olympians, the Outlaws, Arthur and Griff, to give them that launching point for the spin offs, and possibly leading to a S4 wedding of Goliath & Elissa
@@Cavillier1970 The continuation comics did indeed keep the Quarrymen (as Greg Weisman did write that first episode of "The Goliath Chronicles"); further developed Goliath's and Elisa's relationship; and included an arc with Arthur, Griff, and the rest of the London Clan. As for Demona, let's face it, she's always been trying to kill Elisa out of jealousy.
This was a GREAT show. My brother is 10 years younger than me, that’s the reasons I had a chance to watch it. Loved the drama and lore. Thankfully, I never saw third season.
I actually loved “The Goliath Chronicles” too. Yes, it could have and should have been better, but I was as a kid, and still am a die-hard fan. Gargoyles was life-altering for me growing up. Also; I’m so glad Keith David was chosen. I love Patrick Stewart, but Keith was born for this ❤️
The Vikings did actually attack during the day. But the soldiers protecting the besieged Castle would always hold them at bay until the Night when the Gargoyles would defeat the enemy soldiers.
Let’s see... I guess my favorite moments would be Brooklyn becoming Goliath’s second in command, and his defining role at the end of Kingdom. I’m a die hard fan of Brooklyn, plus he looks cute
My personal favorite episode is The Mirror, which happens to be Greg Weisman's favorite as well. It has funny moments, but looking at the episode now, you could cut the tension between Goliath and Elisa's will they or won't they relationship with a chainsaw, especially after Elisa was made into a gargoyle. I'm sure a lot of us keep asking if she could've stayed that way. Gargoyle Elisa is just as hot as Human Elisa.
Is this chick going to mock every one of our favorite cartoons? This is like talking football with one of my girlfriends. Also, someone needs to give their pursuit of being a comedian a rest. "That's right you guessed it" host of the show.
They weren’t cursed to sleep for a thousand years... they were cursed to sleep until the castle was above the clouds.... try at least watching the show before doing a video on it... jeez
I would love to see a Gargoyles movie! Maybe even updated to Live-Action! I even had a great idea for an animated movie sequel! The guardian of Easter Island...he's there protecting the earth from an invasion from outer space right? Have the aliens invade, and the Gargoyles fight them off. I know...I know...its not much. But I would love to see them again in some form or fashion. ANY form or fashion that treats the source material decently! =)
@@lexmatthewtheurbanavenger2046 Peele did make a pitch for it. Disney is sitting on their hands about it. I'm not sure Peele is the right director for this though. I have to agree with sweetcinnamonpnchkin on this one; I'd also be afraid of what Peele might do. He could very well turn it into some freakishly perverse mind-trip that it was never meant to be. Del Toro, J.J. Abrams or James Cameron would be better director choices. Each one has a great deal they could offer a Gargoyles movie. Imagine Goliath gliding across the silver screen in full Avatar-quality CGI [voiced by none other than Keith David]. A cast of CGI gargoyles would make it possible for the original voice actors to reprise their roles. Now that would be epic.
That was basically the plot of the planned 2198 spin-off. Aside from new characters both human and gargoyle, it would've also included previous characters like that alien guardian (naturally), Demona, Alex Xanatos (who don't forget is 1/4 fey), Owen/Puck, and a time-dancing Brooklyn.

It was awesome
Massively underrated show. Far better than Bucky O'Hare.
S Christy lol i was like 4
Oh wow... you just took me down memory lane with that one. I was a freshman in high school and was pretty impressed... then disappointed after the cancellation.
“Captain Simian and the Spaaaace Monkeeeys.”
This was such underrated show!!!! I loved this sooooo much!!!!!
Hands down my fav show as a kid
elkornu8 it was amazing.
Word
One of many good 90s cartoons
"Gargoyles" was freakin awesome. I loved that show.
Halloween episode where Elisa dresses as Belle.
One of the best episodes ever.
Ian Morrison / MovieNutcase Yeah, that was EVERYTHING... I watch it every Halloween!
I think we can all agree the Detective made that costume look Guuuud.
@@RyuGabriev She'd make a potato sack or a Hefty bag look good. lol
@@Cavillier1970 This is the part when someone might raise the stakes saying she'd look fine with nothing on at all, buuut I'd call that self-evident, wouldn't you?
My favorite episode was “The Mirror.” We also can’t forget about Tim Curry AKA Dr. Anton Sevarius.
I can't let you hurt Anton. He's the scientist, you're just the experiment.
Space Aliens, YES! On one episode called the Sentinel.
Yeah he was the Moai looking guy right? In season 2 I believe.
@@danielvilllareal9726 Actually, the Moai statues were made to look like him!
I loved it . Brought the DVD'S and watched it more than my Kid's.
And you're never too old to watch cartoon's.
I love Puck and Oberon. "Oberon does not compromise... Oberon demands!!!
Mrs. host: Broadway wasn't called Broadway cuz fat jokes. Same as Hudson, Bronx, and Lexington, who you JUST named, he was named after New York.
Yeah they all took names after streets/places in N.Y. I don't know why she didn't mention that smh
@@brookswilliams5239 I know why. She's a jerk who is just reading a script and didn't watch the series. I hope her husband keeps putting expired milk in the fridge.
And he loved theater and movies which probably contributed to his name.
"It seems you've discovered my weakness."
"Only you would regard love as a weakness."
OMG.... Disney afternoon was my jam!!!!
I watched all those every day I could!!! Thanks for the Memories!!!
This "host" kind of ruins it.
I loved the Halloween episode were they pretend to be people in costumes and seeing Elisa and Goliath dancing together
One of the most memorable scenes for me was the costume (party? ball? something?) where Golliath and the detective dress as Beast and Belle.
WynlllWynllltrTygertrTyger
My favorite moment was when it was revealed that Xanatos' assistant was Puck the entire time.
We never seen their faces though
Raghu Seetharaman you forgot Colm Meaney, who played Chief O’Brien, voiced the father of a young man that met Goliath and friends on their world hopping journey in “The Hound of Ulster.”
@@Cavillier1970 *cough* The Phantom Menace *cough*
OK, it's not a bad movie (nor was Spielberg involved) , but it is right up there with "Attack of the Clones" and "The Last Jedi" as the weakest Star Wars movies to date.
Gargoyles statues where not just water spouts, they were statues that protected the buildings they were build on and it was believed they scared away evil spirits.
Really really wish this series comes back cuz this is such an underrated show
LOVED this show!! Having Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis as part of the cast was just fab. Keith David is a god. His voice and physical bearing in movies is so compelling.
My favorite moments were the Gargoyles vs the Hunters int he "Hunters Moon" 3 parter, and any episode with Oberon.
especially the ending where Goliath & Elisa finally give into their feelings. Now this should have been a true leaping off point for another major arch or two
@@Cavillier1970 very true! Either that, or that would have been a good note to leave the series on...
This was one of my favorite shows as a kid
It was this street shark and biker mice from mars and mummys alive
This was a GREAT show. My brother is 10 years younger than me, that’s the reasons I had a chance to watch it. Loved the drama and lore. Thankfully, I never saw third season.
I actually loved “The Goliath Chronicles” too. Yes, it could have and should have been better, but I was as a kid, and still am a die-hard fan. Gargoyles was life-altering for me growing up.
Also; I’m so glad Keith David was chosen. I love Patrick Stewart, but Keith was born for this ❤️
It was like Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones
Come on Netflix buy the rights to Gargoyles
...except with a lot fewer deaths...aside from the first episode and "City of Stone," anyway.
Screw Johnny Bravo Brooklyn is where it's at!😍💘 (he's also Raj from Camp Lazlo)
I watched this everyday after school and 4:30pm durning the Disney afternoon. Was my favorite show next to X-men. Watched every episode
Well there was Thailog's gargoyle clone of her.
One of my favorite episodes is lexington saving baby alex
Is this chick going to mock every one of our favorite cartoons? This is like talking football with one of my girlfriends. Also, someone needs to give their pursuit of being a comedian a rest. "That's right you guessed it" host of the show.
Gargoyles & Batman Beyond were my favorites when I was a kid back in the 90's
They weren’t cursed to sleep for a thousand years... they were cursed to sleep until the castle was above the clouds.... try at least watching the show before doing a video on it... jeez
Bob Jones thank you! I hate when people know nothing about the show but try and act like they know everything
I love this show! I remember waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning just to watch vack to back episodes of this every day. I really miss it💕💕💕💕
I remember watching these before going to school when I was 9 I’m 31 now
I loved all of the Star Trek ties in this show. It’s so good.
I heard that Jordan Peele might make a gargoyles movie
I’d be afraid of what Peele would do to it. I’d rather have Del Toro (sp?)
@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin Yes!!!
Still one of my favorite shows of all time. I remember it was so good that my mom would actually watch it with me. It wasn't (at least the first season) just a show for kids. Anyone could enjoy it.
I love the gargoyles they need to bring it back on TV dude
I love how she points out all the star trek actors I've been saying this for years, I was a huge fan of star trek Next Generation I loved hearing my favorite actor in a cartoon.
I loved Gargoyle soo much I dreamt of becoming one when I was a kid. sweet memories.
One of my favorites is "City of Stone" and when Goliath went to Avalon. Oh and any episode were Puck is involved.
Anyone else watching this because of Disney +. Funny how Brooklyn was essentially the bad boy like Raphael and they were both the red one.
Gargoyle a is one my favorite cartoons
Disney needs to make a LIVE ACTION version of this!
With the way things are right now at Disney they might, to put it frankly, fuck it up.
Brandon Stoinski Comics Jordan Peele wants to direct a film franchise.
Do we really need a live action version of the series seriously
Absolutley loved this show. I rewatched it on disney plus! Its so good.
Gargoylesis my favorite cartoon. I rewatch it a couple of times a year
What I don't hear a lot is how diverse this show is.
I still love that intro song.
One of my favorites of all times. Please don't request a reboot!!! It's perfect.
Doesn’t seem like she watched it.
NO...she's a joke...She doesn't realize that the humans did ATTACK during the day, HENCE MOST OF THEM WERE DESTROYED AND ONLY FEW SURVIVED.
This was by far my favorite show growing up (Batman: The Animated Series was probably 2nd, X-Men 3rd) but I still enjoy watching Gargoyles today. A show way ahead of its time.
You could do a video about the *"City of Stone"* storyline alone. The best story in the series history in my opinion.
This was totally my Jam!!! This show and Batman the animated series were awesome.
