Your diagrams and models are absolutely fantastic. Wonderfully simple, yet perfectly complete. You really are a master explainer. You should have a hundred thousand subscribers based JUST on teaching alone. Can’t tell you how much I enjoy them. Thank you, Div, yet again…. 😊👍👍
You white board illustration with use of blocks representing height change is perfect. This what Ford used in their commercial back when, showing the benefits of "Fords New Twin I beam Suspension" except they had a number of radius rods break. They blame it on someone else! Like the River Rouge Plant, where castings have been poured since 1919. (River Red). Plus the relationship to chamber with the different colors was perfect. This dark woods engineering. Our, what we call in the states, "Red Neck" engineering! Still perfect illustrations for those planing on changing ride height and suspension geometry, from my point of view... You are a thinker! @@ratrodsafrica I hope I can make things make that much sense on my channel I'm not used to being on camera this is a very intimidating build just because it is one of the more extensive jobs I have ever done. And I'm doing it on camera .
That frigging camera can be very intimidating in the beginning! Have a look at my very first video and you will see how nervous I am!😄 If I can offer some advice, I will say just do it and keep going. It's the only way to learn, get better and more comfortable in front of the camera. I uploaded more than 100 videos before my little channel started gaining traction. TH-cam is a lot of work and persistence is key. One has to make it an enjoyable process! Good luck my friend!
Here in the states its real popular to use a crown vic front subframd to lower the front and gey rack and pinion sterring this my plan for my 66 ford pickup
What would happen if you raised the top bucket where the top of the spring and shock attach? It seems it would allow the front end to drop without changing the spring length.
Yes, it could be done. Quite a bit a work though and difficult to go back to original. At least with changing spring length you could just install another spring if you mess up :)
raise the coil bucket to retain the spring or at least limit the number of coils you have to cut. Also, there should be some camber adjustment at the hub side of those bars.
Some lateral thinking there! Had a look today at this option, but it will require MAJOR surgery! :) Also, the camber problem will get worse if you move it that much. Bending the beam to correct camber is also a major story...So, still toying with it...
@@ratrodsafrica Could the beam pivot points also not be moved higher?... thereby neutralising the camber? We want to drop it, so something has to give. It might be cheaper than kidney belts :). Are you going to use those same wheel rims? Let's not forget how much it'll drop by changing wheels and tyre profile. Skirting around the edges can also create the dropped look, without anything having actually changed.
@@seanhammon6639 checked out the beam pivot points today... might as well cut off the whole front section and start from scratch if I want tp change that! But yes, definitely other tyres, planning to play with tyre profiles as well... Also busy talking to a guy at a spring shop about other tricks with those front coils... instead of just cutting them... feedback soon!

Thanks brother! If my efforts can help someone, it is mission accomplished 😁
Your teachings really work for a guy like me, I am a Monkey see, Monkey do learner. Thanks again for teaching and sharing your knowledge

Thanks bro, gotta figure this stuff out for myself!😄
@@ratrodsafrica You do it well! Very well...
Looking forward to seeing more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
Perfectly explained, even the dumbest person can understand it with no issues. You earned a sub from me, sir!
Thank you very much! Welcome to my shop
that is absolutely the best explanation and example ive ever seen
Thank you man!

Your model would make your own William Kentridge proud- haha. Terrific instruction, btw. Thx
Haha, wish I could get the same kinda money for it!
I like your videos a lot! You're very talented and knowledgeable.

Ja, unfortunately the Crown Vic suspensions are not available down here
Late model stright axle may be z the frame
Love your videos. No guess work!
Thanks!
djm makes a kit of beams pre made to lower your f- 100s they call them dream beams about 700 u.s. dollars also you need to replace king pin bushings..
Problem is, djm is a frigging long way from me! After shipping and import taxes we probably looking at 3 times that amount!🙈

It's been some time since that video... ended up cutting 1 and half coils, camber looks OK, stance is not bad, spring rate acceptable for me 😀
Is there an adjustment? It's the problem with Ford's twin I beam
@@tommills2097 there is no adjustment on fords twin I beam other then bending the beam . Very poor design ever made .
Taildraggers maybe??
Leave the spring as long as it is and raise the UPPER spring pocket/ might that work?
Guess that would also be feasible, but it is a LOT of work to do that! 😅
Camber will still be way off . Twin I beams was for drunk drivers .
Instead of cutting the spring, cutting and removing the WHOLE shock/spring bracket 154mm higher?

Twin I beam was developed by ford so drunk drivers wouldnt get caught driving drunk because the truck was drunk .
😂
Easy to impossible to add back
Sorry easy to cut
