House in the show struck me as a man who was completely uninterested in what Vault tec proposed. I think he had already made his own calculations before this meeting. Attending the meeting was probably a courtesy from him and it just confirmed his own calculations. Hes so uninterested in the Vaults when the other attendees start arguing House im pretty sure dosent he lights another cigarette instead.

      @AdamaSanguine 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +21

I'm glad someone else pointed this out. There are so many haters that are/were so upset that House was included in the board meeting.
"Fan Service"? Sure, i feel it's a bit of that. Then again, that's only if you didn't listen carefully to his dialog and how he seemed more interested in how it would benefit his interests.
As you stated, it's because he already had a plan or at the very least, came up with a plan shortly after that meeting!
House literally keeps his "cards" close to his chest. So it's very possible that some of the information he gives to The Courier is only what he wants us to know!
It's also very possible that given how much was cut from the game and how little time Obsidian was given to complete it, that "they" had other ideas on where to go the story.
Plus you never give everything away in one go if A) You don't actually know the full story yourself. B) You don't even know if your getting a sequel. And C) Even if you do get a sequel, you'll have more time to flush out your characters and give more info later.
      Edit
Even if.. *there's no guarantee* they'll have more time.. etcetera.

That's why I want there to never be a definitive answer to who started everything. People seem to act like because the show had Cooper's wife say that line that Vault-tec did it. Well that has been one of the theories supported by evidence in the games but lots of others have eveidence too. I think that is the point. Each one is plausible but we should never know for sure. But I am ok with evidence pointing that it COULD be as long as it is never definitive.

There are so many things i the lore that "contradict" and I think it's on purpose. Was it P.A.M.? Was it Vault-Tec? Was it the Captain on the Yanghzee? Was it Russia? Was it China? Was it what became The Enclave? All of them have evidence. That's how I would like to keep it.

Imo Mr. House didn't play The Great Game because his ego would tell him he'll outlive everyone, and if we go with the highly possible ending of him winning in New Vegas, and if the Walking Doomsday (the Courier) left MT at some point, that House wouldn't ever have a rival because the Courier would protect House. There's also the possibility of The Courier joining the Great Game himself because House would try to make the Courier immortal.

The Great Game was a rivalry between the 19th-century British and Russian empires over influence in Central Asia, primarily in Afghanistan, Persia, and Tibet. The two colonial empires used military interventions and diplomatic negotiations to acquire and redefine territories in Central and South Asia. Russia conquered Turkestan, and Britain expanded and set the borders of British colonial India. By the early 20th century, a line of independent states, tribes, and monarchies from the shore of the Caspian Sea to the Eastern Himalayas were made into protectorates and territories of the two empires.
In the historical sense, the term dates from the mid-19th century. A similar term, the "Tournament of Shadows" was reportedly used by Russian diplomat Karl Nesselrode. In July 1840, in correspondence to Major Henry Rawlinson who had been recently appointed as the new political agent in Kandahar, Conolly wrote, "You've a great game, a noble game, before you." Conolly believed that Rawlinson's new post gave him the opportunity to advance humanitarianism in Afghanistan, and summed up his hopes:
"If the British Government would only play the grand game - help Russia cordially to all that she has a right to expect - shake hands with Persia - get her all possible amends from Oosbegs - force the Bukhara Amir to be just to us, the Afghans, and other Oosbeg states, and his own kingdom - but why go on; you know my, at any rate in one sense, enlarged views. The expediency, nay the necessity of them will be seen, and we shall play the noble part that the first Christian nation of the world ought to fill"
My comments: If you apply that historical term to what could possibly happen behind the scene in Fallout world post nukes, then it might give new spin to the post-post apocalypse genre. There could third world nation in there or NGO trying to conquer all those great pre war superpower nation corpses as the power vacuum wanting to be filled. And this might be how you move this series forward, instead of just cheap "nuking all those civilization back to dust again".

Don't forget that V21 was also located in New Vegas. Hank probably had access to location data for other Vaults near the 31/2/3 trifecta, and figured he might have a chance to get aid at 21. Though of course he has no idea its filled with concrete now.
As for House, I doubt Bethesda would allow such a fan favorite character to be killed off after just having been introduced in the show. So I'm of the opinion that House survived the events of New Vegas. If that's the case then it would soft lock the canon of NV into either the House or NCR routes, similar to how the presence of the Prydwen back on the West Coast in 2296 during the show soft locks the canon of F4 into either a Minuteman or BoS victory over the Institute

    • @vonshroom2068
      @vonshroom2068 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

In all fairness House was always the cannon ending.
The legion beyond vegas had no chance on staying unified without the guidance of Ceasar.
If Ceasar didn't threw his right hand man off a cliff while on fire the legion would have had a future but Lanius simply doesn't have the means to keep the tribes together.
The NCR barely held it together and merely used the impending doom the Legion seemed to be to keep people in line.
Even with a victory that would have only lasted for a couple of years before the NCR would have to fight their own to stave off a cival war over areas attemping to break off and leave.
Yes man was a simply failsave and the failsafe questline tells you House was the winner in the New vegas conflict.
      If House wins all win.
The NCR leaving with a bloodied nose would have to restructure its government to remain intact.
Which is possible with the new supply of Hooverdam power generation.
The legion falling apart would have the tribes probably turn in to a kalifate of tribalstates like in ancient times under Alexander the great.
House as a power broker would keep the State of Nevada as a neutral peace state allowing for negotiations etc.
However i don't see any of these things happen in the show as they jumped the gun and blew up the NCR figuring the legion already fell apart.
I'd rather have had the show be its own thing instead of retreading things and then possibly retconning plotlines for the sake of a show that could have been better being its own thing.
I mean power armor was everywhere why the need of the B.O.S. etc? Fallout 4 had their Atom cats for instance.
It would have been more fun seeing new factions then old ones that already told their stories or are simply no where near the area to be relevant.

The dates all line up too, since Gen 3 synths existed long enough for Muldaver to reach the west coast and start the known events she did in the show. Also the show’s showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also were the show runners for the HBO series Westworld (Hosts and synths have a LOT in common) so it is extremely unlikely that they wouldn’t use a plausible lore friendly storyline about robots that are almost indistinguishable from humans. They also meet Bradurton, essentially inheriting Nuka Cola and have the potential to reinstate Vault 88. So they claimed a lot of power over the Commonwealth by endgame.
By all means, I’d absolutely say they could even be considered for presidency as they practically re-establish an entire economy from trading, housing, manufacturing, and gatekeeping industrial weapons like Nuka Quantum, Hallucinogens, and Alien weaponry. While backing Nuka World raiders, mitigating Far Harbor’s crisis and stomping the Cold War. They qualify moreso then any other survivor in my opinion.

Would they deteriorate quickly, slowly since they might’ve had serum left or just start aging normally from that point? I can’t remember. Been awhile since I did that questline. I think Jack started taking the serum to live as long as his dad to safeguard him and make sure he wasn’t unleashed on the world, even after the apocalypse. However, they became a bit spoiled and possibly somewhat warped under its continued use. But, I don’t feel it was to the point that Jack would then decide to get involved with the Great Game afterward. And, if you side with Lorenzo, he kills his family & there is no Jack. _The Great Game_ is likely why we don't have a definitive answer on who dropped the bombs first.
I've always thought that whoever dropped a bomb first, did so in an attempt to give themselves an advantage in _the great game._
It's been my favorite thing to ponder about Fallout ever since playing Fallout 3 and meeting Desmond Lockhart.

21:54 what about John Caleb Bradburton? He knew about life-extending tech, powerful billionaire, genius, and also connected to vault tech. And he was located north of point lookout, just outside of the Boston area. Perhaps Desmond couldn’t get to him because of how well defended his personal sanctuary was and of course, the endless raiders in his way.

What about Sinclair or Dean Domino from the Sierra Madre?
Sinclair had a good business relationship with Big MT before the war who provided a lot of the technology you see at the casino like the holograms, the hazmat suits and the cloud gas.
Perhaps through them he learned that the apocalypse was inevitable.
Although he mainly built the casino for Vera, I think he also tried to use as a way to make his own survival strategy with all the invincible security guards and countless security systems like the one inside the vault.
Of course he died right as the bombs fell, and there’s not much else we can learn about Sinclair, so it’s just a guess.
Another name that comes to mind is Dean Domino, before the war he was also very influential in the music industry, but also various construction and medical companies.
We also know that he held a long grudge against Sinclair, and maybe that was his reason to participate in the great game, and his strategy was to rob the casino with Vera, and likely take it over.
Sinclair found out however, and turned the vault into a deathtrap. Then when the bombs dropped the holograms started to kill everyone and the gas flooded the villa, but Dean also turned into a ghoul.
Perhaps that was his plan B to survive the apocalypse.
Though this is just a guess on my side, and perhaps I missed a lot that could disprove this.
But if anyone likes this idea, just let me know.

I think that the canonical ending of Fallout New Vegas is already established, because one of the producers of the Fallout show, Graham Wagner, already revealed that Mr. Robert House will appear in the second season. I believe that´s why the NCR is weak in the Fallout show, because Mr. House took control of everything.

You mentioned Lorenzo but we can rightfully strike him off due to already having been hidden forever, JACK Cabot however, entirely plausible. He has many hired guns under his payroll, and not open to giving information out that isn't directly relevant to what's happening at the moment. We have no way of telling how many players he could have eliminated.

Gotta say there might be something to this. In 76’s new update there’s a terminal belonging to dr Stolz’s wife in vault 63’s overseer’s office mentioning prof. Calvert and Desmond in it. It’s just a unfinished thank you note to Calvert and it mentions a discussion they had at an event the three of them at and how Calvert tampered with Desmond invite. Or long those lines there might be a bit more I forgotten. Free to look for yourself.

I wonder if the Biomed Gel, that gives the Robobrains some null telepathic power; is a derivative of the Alien Biogel found in Mothership Zeta. It works not only as a healing item, but it can give random effects. Although in F3 they show as either SPECIAL boosts, or negative effects, it seems reasonable to assume that this is just a limitation of the games engine.
So, somehow Robco and General Atomics get hold of Alien Biogel and used it as a basis for the Biomed Gel for Robobrains. The healing affect works as a long-term preservative for the brains, meanwhile the altering affect (from being design to work on alien lifeforms, not human) can either deteriorate the brain, or even give them some unexpected powers, such as telepathy??

at the end about hank i disagree, i dont see a reason for him to suddenly start hunting for house which he could have started doing at anytime, he might be instructed to since he is one of the pawns of bud askins but there are more of those who all stay in the vault. But he might have learned of the great game and is in search for answers and probs figured out that house is one of the players and wants to know more, is my guess... depending on which ending for house is canon i wonder what will be found there.

I know you don't do speculation videos Ox and you did address this slightly when I brought it up during the livestream, but after rewatching the show to make these videos, I'm wondering if your opinion has changed.
    The Enclave is Vault-Tec...kinda.
Fallout 76: The show decides to call Vault-Tec "Management." In Fallout 76, when they added expeditions, they added an NPC named Orlando in the Whitespring Refuge who states that the refuge is being supplied by management. Management, according to Orlando, is "the owners of the Whitespring." As we know, the Whitespring is owned by the Enclave post war. The Enclave consists only of MODUS (Mr. Otis, according to Orlando) and player characters at the time.
Fallout 3: John Henry Eden is a ZAX AI unit. ZAX units were created by Vault-Tec. Eden's plan is to eradicate everyone on the surface. The same plan that Vault-Tec pitched during the show. They may have programed this into every unit they created and sent out to the government.
Show: Then, there is Wilzig. I haven't rewatched the show, but he knew so much about Lucy. About Vaults.
Fallout 1: I don't remember everything about Fallout 1, but I don't believe they had a computer like ZAX or MODUS. It could be that after building the bunker under the Whitespring, that US government decided that Vault-Tec couldn't be trusted and that's why they decided to go with an oil rig.
In the end, I don't think the entirety of the Enclave is part of Vault-Tec. However, the show introducing them as the big bad and specifically calling them "Management" after Bethesda decided to call The Enclave "Management" just seems to much like a coincidence. The show was announced in 2020 and expeditions were announced in 2021. I don't know how much communication goes on and yes it could be an oversite, but it's canon now (yes to those of you who don't like it, Fallout 76 is canon). So, that's my way of explaining it.

The Great Game, pre fallout show is an entirely different story than the one introduced in the show.
The fallout show is very clearly talking about competition with other businesses to control the post-war world. The Great Game pre-show was about spies and intel operatives continuing feuds from before the war despite the death of the countries they had started their fight for.

The Great Game is my favorite story told in the Fallout universe. It seems so mysterious and important! I love that there are these highly intelligent and high ranking individuals from before the war all trying to outlive one another so that they may have free control of parts or the entirety of the Wasteland. Its the ultimate power struggle and now thinking about it the Fallout show is a perfect avenue to showcase more about the Great Game and its illusive players!

Winters & Calbot had nothing to do with it.... the reference of "The Great Game" was always about the Rich Elite.... many media have made reference to "The Ultimate Game", where Rich people kidnapped regular people, and Hunt them down. So for Fallout, this was the Experiments in the Vaults... obviously, many achieve different forms of Immortality... from Super Mutants, to Ghoul, to Brains, and A.I. like Robco... or even the Creatures in Vault 8.
I think Desmond was referring to this, because he was a Spy... he would have known who the other Important Players were

Also the brotherhood are definitely a "great game" effort. Even if they aren't directly controlled by someone playing it directly. They're something of a catch mechanism, they're "gather, use and control pre-war tech" is exactly what you need to stabley move forward without ANOTHER brand of apocalypse breaking out (think the Garyes escaping containment and out competing the rest of humanity)
