- I redesign / refinish the old dirty door panels. Custom and easy to do.
For ultimate bonding of material consider using 3M Hi-Strength 90 Adhesive.
Remember materials used may vary, do they expand during summer heat or do they shrink with colder temperatures. These things should always be considered.
Also, when pressing material into seams of a panel. Consider using a push in trim piece, with some type of gel glue. Similar or equal to GOOP glue. I found that Gorilla super glue with the fine tip works well.
The door card the most putting off part of the car!
This is the video I've been looking for!
Now I am now confident on buying this car without putting me off thr gross looking door panels. Cheers from Australia!
I have added a silver trim around the new black area on the door since. I'll do another video in the future, I will be finishing the interior in that video. Stay tuned.
Wow, you're really going all out with the customizations on this! Love the look of the rear deck.
Going all the way with this one, I hit a snag with engine choice because of Covid. But, I will use what I have and improve it. Battery relocation coming soon, plus suspension & brakes. Funds have been tight, I don’t make TH-cam money like much bigger channels on TH-cam.
Nice, would like to see more like this on this car
It's coming, the next video I will be finishing the interior. New custom leather seat covers will be installed.
Fantastic video thank you for posting, You did an awesome job.
I added a chrome trim to the outer edges, I will show in a coming video. In that video I will be installing new leather seat covers, factory fit. Stay tuned!
@@nicklldoit I definitely will everything you’ve done to that is looks fantastic you’re very creative.
Good video cant wait to redo my interior gonna use this as a reference
how did the duplicolor vinyl paint hold up im worried it will look ok for a little but longterm go to shit
@@cameronrob5491 the car is still being built, so no long term results yet.
muy bien amigo, le da otra vista la verdad
2:10 it matches the gas ,brake , foot rest and if it’s manual the clutch pedal .
True that, for sure.
How has it been holding up? Any bubbles appear or does it still look just as great?
I have heat tested it all this summer, not it also depends on the material you use as well. But, I was getting left where it creases into the panel. I have epoxy glue those areas down and added a chrome trim.
Did you tackle the headliner? The tan is hideous and shows all the marks
@@thecookeman I have left it alone so far, it's in great shape. I will end up changing the fabric all together at some point
What head unit are you running?
@@THAT_ZX10RR it's one of those Chinese android units, kinda a no name. I have videos on the install.
You painted an interior component, does it still smell like aerosol spray can in your car now?
Not at all, let it all dry out for a couple of days.
looks good but im too chicken to try this on my is300😂
Can always get some junkyard panels and give it a shot
@@nicklldoit is300 are rare where i live, im the second person in my area to own an is300
@@carlbrooks90 I had a difficult time finding one here as well.
