Hey yall:) Sorry this video was delayed (I had some Serious technical difficulties), but I hope you enjoy it! Also let me know what you think of the longer format than usual for me👀
Um I always love more time with you so long videos are fun! I’m always sad when the video is over. Obviously longer videos mean more work with videography and editing, so do what’s sustainable for you, but I do not tire of you!
The longer the better! I love listening to your cheerful slightly rambly opinions on fashion and other stuff ❤❤ but as said, only make it as long as is doable for you.
if you happen to see this comment: what plant is that next to you? i have the same one and i havent been able to figure out what it is! greetings from finland
I love how u pointed out how some younger girls may feel uncomfortable wearing the exact same outfit you wore because their body type. I know for one I stayed away from skirts and low cut tops as a kid because my chest and butt was just to big for it and I didn't want to draw attention.
I'm so sorry you felt that attention on your body as a child!! It sucks how common that experience is. I hope now you get to wear whatever makes you feel good, whether that includes skirts and low cut tops or not
Ugh ,the first time I was cat called from a car by a group of older teenage boys, I was eleven. I was wearing last year's summer shorts and had just started puberty and my bum was developed. Ugh. I will never forget that feeling. No child should ever have that experience it is gross! xx
I stopped doing laundry to watch you climb that tree. It deserved my full attention. I need to go back to doing fun LITERALLY FREE things! Less going out to restaurants and ice cream places and shopping, more picnics with homemade sandwiches and drawing and climbing trees and playing pretend. I’m rediscovering how to have fun oh my goodness.
hahaha So glad the tree climbing commanded your attention. But omg seriously, so much of "fun" for adults is based around consumption and there are really so many wonderful fun activities out there that don't cost a penny. Might have to try to recruit some friends for regular tree climbing
I love going to museums and performances with my student ID so I usually get in for free or with a huge discount! 😍 Student rush tickets are so cool, I got so many expensive seats to operas, ballets, plays, and concerts for less than $10. Of course it depends where you live 🤷🏻♀️
I would love to see a sequel to this video where you don't dress like you actually did as a kid, but take inspiration from how you _wanted_ to dress as a kid. Making your child self's dreams come true!
This was such a cute idea. Child me refused to wear jeans. At the end of last year, adult me realised that child me knew what was up and I no longer have any jeans in my wardrobe.
I think the topic you mentioned about how we are socialized to both care and scoff at fashion would be such a great discussion. This is something I've been thinking about a lot myself and it would be really cool to hear some other perspectives on that topic.
My childhood fashion was 50% school uniforms and 50% whatever my mom made me wear/hand-me-downs, so little me would be so happy that I finally get to wear whatever I want and get to explore fashion now. I probably won't revisit my personal childhood wardrobe 😂 but this was a very great video 🥰
I distinctly remember me and my 12-15 year old friends regularly getting honked at as we walked or biked or rollerbladed around the neighborhood dressed in pretty typical tanks and shorts or outfits like the green shirt/black skirt you were wearing so everything you said about being more aware of your body was definitely something I went through as a child and still think about all the time as an adult. WHEW. All of that to say thank you for saying all that and I love your videos.
This video did make me think of my "not like other girls" era (yikes) and how I dressed for the sake of feeling less girly since it was "bad". This got to the point where I hated my girly attributes and sometimes wondered "hmmm do I really want to be a girl?". YES, I love being a girl, but somehow my mentality made me think less of being a girl and other girls around me. I love dressing girly and womanly nowadays as an adult, it´s one of the most important ways I present myself, at least for me. Anyway, great video as always
The striped tank! I had so many striped tanks and tees until I was told that girls should avoid horizontal stripes (because they make you look wider 🙄🙄🙄).
I remember going shopping with one of my friends in fifth grade and she didn’t buy a T-shirt because it had horizontal stripes and she felt self-conscious 😕 I wish we wouldn’t make literal children feel bad about their bodies, or anyone for that matter
such a breath of fresh air, your excursion in the woods almost made me a little emotional. such a special way to connect to your inner child. you’ve definitely inspired me to try something similar!
This was so fun to watch! I remember all of these styles from my own childhood, the cargo pants, the tropical designs, the 90s hand-me-downs. Also the plaid dress + big collar combo! It's feels really weird to see early 2000s/mid 2000s things coming back into fashion now. I'm currently watching a lot of TV from that era that I used to watch as a kid, too, and it all makes me feel much more connected to my childhood self...
You gave me the confidence to wear my embroidered palm springs butter yellow T. (Ive never been to palm springs) People may mistake me for a grandmother.
I had no style when I was a kid in the 90s-2000s, my mom just dressed me and my sister in mismatched leggings and a T-shirt throughout elementary and middle school. The only exception being a Winnie the Pooh pair of overalls I had that was pretty darn cute now that I think about it.
I remember as a child my favourite outfits, most of them were colorful, full of fun prints, and I LOVED "twirly skirts" as I called them (AKA skater skirts). Now I dress 50s style, lots of prints and colors, pink hair ! Child me can be proud !
vlog concept 10/10, eclipse slideshow 10/10, daily reflections 10/10, also 7:22 if this pastel-bright orange is a skort with the white track stripes on the side … I for sure had that exact one !!
I like to call my personal aesthetic bebeme-core ... I am sewing items that are reminiscent of the clothes I wore as a baby or toddler. My mom based a lot of my handmade clothes on historical garments, so I'm excited about this sewing project.
When you did the kid Liz pose in the coconut girl outfit, it suddenly came so alive! Bizarre how time is a thing and how you are always a person, and idk 😂 I rlly felt it
My current job has no dresscode-- so sometimes I wear my kid self clothes and it's the most comfortable I ever feel out in public. It's so healing and so fun 10/10 recommended! Love this!
I honestly tired up a little when you climbed that tree and looked down at a camera all happy and playfull. This video reminded me of my child self and my own chlotes back then, it was lowkey healing to watch. Thank you!
As a child I dressed SOLELY on what was comfortable. 😅 (okay, and sparkly). As a young college-aged teen I developed my first (recognized) crush on a girl and I suddenly cared about fashion. Now, as an adult, I make my own clothes so I can be both pretty and comfortable. 🧡
Your final thoughts made me think of Brene Brown's work and the difference between belonging and fitting in. I just love your experiments so much! I've been so inspired by your approach to styling, not having to buy new things to recreate specific looks etc. I've been on a sustainable fashion journey for the past 5-ish years and your videos bring so much joy to clothing. Thank you! (I liked outfit 4 best too)
FANCY HISTORICAL BABY I LOVE IT SO MUCH WOW! I want to be a fancy historical baby now. Why do you say things that speak to my soul in such a way, Miss Liz Beepworld? I am truly vexed. Much to ponder…
I would love that longer video discussion about being conditioned to care about how you look, but also at the same time having society look down upon it. Of course, only if you have time 😊 Loved this video as always ❤
Watching you climb a tree healed something in my soul. I’m going to plan an inner child day for myself soon and do all my favorite childhood activities
I always enjoy very much your videos, they are always a fresh breath for me. But, for me, this one has been specially good. You really made me think about my childhood and, me being a 43 year old woman, you made me want to make this same experiment to meet with my inner child, my essence. I think we should all have this connection with ourselves. The older we get the more we loose it and the more we forget our essence. I have never thought the way we dress could have so much impact on this, but it absolutely does! Good job girl! ❤
I began to cry as soon as I saw you climb that tree 😢 I had the video playing in the background propped on my laptop while doing work and just seeing you embody childlike joy made me realize how overwhelmed I have been with my job and adulting. I miss the simpler times of reading my book surrounded by spring greenery, hugged by branches and watching clouds roll by. I gave my inner child a hug and a Debbie snack treat (little me’s favorite!) before going back to work. Thank you for this very interesting and nostalgic video!
This makes me wanna try out this for myself! im gonna have to go through the ole family album and take some pictures 🙈 seems really fun but also introspective
I could never do a challenge like that. My mom dictated my outfits until well into my adolescence and I was being made fun of so much that I stopped going to class. I then went straight to mall goth as soon as I earned my own money and could buy clothes for myself, mainly because I knew that she hated black. And nowadays I am mostly confused about style in general.
This is a really interesting concept (and I was glad to see a video from you!). It did make me start thinking about my childhood clothes and what I liked and what I didn't. Looking back, I can see the roots of my current style (a blend of classic, boho, and 'coastal grandmother, which is really classic). My favorite piece of clothing as a five-year-old was a cotton sundress in a muted teal blue color (totally my color) with bands of red and yellow rickrack on the hem. I would totally wear something like that now. I also fondly remember a dark green velveteen jumper worn with a white blouse with a big collar - again not that different from some of my clothes now (many, many years later).
My style has remained pretty consistent over the years too. Dramatic shapes, bold pattern, colours, and texture. I just really like fabric so I always choose my clothes based on the fabric and comfort. I’m so glad my mother always let me wear whatever I wanted.
I loved how reflective this video was... I feel like being more connected with things that really interested you in your past is such a great place to start being a bit less terminally online (obv idk about you but this is a problem for me). Idk I've been trying hard to spend less time on the internet and more time in my actual real life recently and it's been very good for my sense of self. I thought I would end up feeling connected to people online but I kind of had to relearn how to interact with people in person before I became more confident in my online interactions?? And like... Now interactions over the internet is an option rather than the default. And omg just going outside more and engaging in hobbies has given my brain safe places to wander so I'm not just rehashing anxieties! Critical for me to get anywhere!! Anyway this has got maybe more personal than I meant... Nice to think about what I was obsessed with as a kid (cargo pants and dreaming of being like kim possible, while irl being a shy nerd haha)
I distinctly remember a dark blue gingham dress with white lace trim that i adored when I was a child. I wore it until it only fit as a shirt and then I wore it till it wouldn't fit at all lol I'm still looking for it's replacement in my wardrobe to this day. Most of the clothes I had as I got older were hand me downs so i relate to not being able to really pick your own clothes. So if I did have something I loved, i LOVED it.
This video seemed like fun to revisit! Interesting for me I don’t remember how lil me liked to dress, all I remember was hating strips because my dad would call out STRIPS whenever I wore them 😅
I loved this video, it was so eye opening to reflect on what fashion was me as a kid. For example, for me it was something I used to try to make me feel “normal” or “accepted”. I also realized how hard I’ve worked to separate myself from those beliefs. Thanks Liz for making this lovely video and inspiring me to further explore my fashion sense! - and this was totally inner child work😂💕
I also used to wear the loose, fun T-shirt with baggy shorts a lot as a kid and I recently rediscovered the style without really connecting the dots. But it is so comfy without being too basic and I don't know why I stopped wearing it in the first place.
Dude, my mom always got me second hand clothes from my elder cousins, I rarely got new clothes I chose to buy, and now she wonders why I love thrifting so much and refuse to buy new clothes... Sorry mom, reap what you sow XD
OMG, same. 1½ years ago I even started volunteering at a "Free-of-charge"-Shop (it's kinda weird to explain, people can drop off stuff they don't need anymore and others can take it for free - so it doesn't go to waste and gets a second life) and while I thrifted a lot before, I honestly can't remember the last time I payed money for clothes. This way, my style got a lot more eclectic and courageous - because I just take what I think is interesting, and if I end up not wearing it, I just put it back in the shop ☺️
You inspired me 🩵 I am looking at a picture of me wearing a cute maroon matching set w a collar and embroidered flowers and then a vibrant green striped sweatshirt 😆 I can’t wait to dig up some more photos
As soon as I saw the title I started internally screaming, I LOVE your content but this one is personal to me bc I LOVE dressing for my inner child and Dopamine Dressing and all that jazz omg I am so excited to watch this one!!!
love this video concept! My little child self was very particular abt clothes and it was purely for comfort no thought about styling - but as I got older I had the stupid “nOt lIke tHe OthEr gIrlS” phase + purity culture that caused me to dress in a way that I later ended up hating when I realized I always felt uncomfortable of myself just existing the way I was. So I decided to expiriment with the clothes I loved seeing on others on myself. (I thought I couldn’t wear things only others could cuz I wasn’t enough or whatever lmao and being diagnosed autistic but in denial for a long time there’s a whole lot of lore there) The past 4 years have may look like a complete 180 but I feel like myself now more than I ever did before! I love accessorizing, skirts, dresses, bright colors, etc etc etc
I started doing this a few years ago and for me it was finding patterns and colors from the early 90s even if I wasn’t wearing them at the time! A lot of Ken Done and Laurel Burch lol… I’m like a decade older than you I think and it’s so cool to see how even children’s fashion changed from my time to yours! I think being a fat kid meant less styles available and it does seem even the chubby kids have stylish options now. Great video. I love how accessible and friendly your videos are.
So insightful!!! I so appreciate your contributions here. "Dressing like yourself as a child" never really resonated with me but your observations are bringing all new light to the discussion. Truly great stuff. Highest quality content. :)))
this is such a cool and cute idea and I loved all your thoughtful reflections! Seems like a very good self-reflecting experiment~ I just remembered that as a kid I had a phase of dressing in a certain color of the rainbow each day of the week hahaha. But I only had like one orange top and one green top so every tuesday and thursday people were probably seeing me wear the same shirts over and over hahaha
I loved this video! Mine would be so much pinks, especialy magenta. A teal track suit and purple corduroy pants, I think I wore all the colors in 90s ☺️ oh and red pattent leathes mary jane shoes for picture days and special occasions🥰
omg love this. you also inspireed some reflection on my own childhood. i also dont know if it would like defeat the purpose of truly just letting the childhood outfits be what they were, but i would love to see you take these pieces (or just pieces inspired by your childhood style) and update them to how you would dress now.
This was the perfect video to watch this morning while unpacking my vacation luggage and getting ready for the day. I liked this experiment a lot! And I did not find your thoughts incoherent - it was an authentic reflection of the day in question and really interesting to me. Especially the part about how different certain items feel if you are a grown-up. Thank you! Maybe someday, you could do a similar thing for teenage you?
leaving a comment in hopes of child me visiting me in my dreams! lol but fr loved this longer format video - very insightful and inspiring. makes me want to do something similar (recreating childhood looks)
Omg, that red coat-hat combo your sister wore made me remember that as a child I had a similar red hat with a white bow in the front! Thank you for making this video, it was really sweet and inspiring ❤
As a kid, I distinctly remember loving capri pants - denim, cotton, you name it. Now that I'm seeing them come back in style, I'm really not drawn to them at all! ...but maybe i just need to try a pair on, again 😂
This video totally inspired me to do this!! It honestly made me tear up a few times in weird way because I miss my child self and I want to channel her in my life more 😊🙈
You are not the only person to say this made them emotional! Honestly me too & it's making me emotional now to read comments like this:')) I hope you get to do something to channel little you this week
Personally I love the black mini skirt + green top combo, I think it looks sooo good (however, I'm aware there's a difference btwn an outfit looking good & the wearer feeling comfortable in it)
OMG i've wanted to do this concept ever since I browsed through the family photo album an year ago. Especially with a plaid dress and a pastel cardigan I used to love back then, since I have a similar skirt and a similar sweater now. I think you inspired me to finally do it! Little you had some adorable outfits, and I love your current re-creations!
thank you so much for this video, its such a cool idea!! im so excited to relook through my childhood pics and try the same experiment!! ive also heard an opinion that our hobbies and things we liked to do as kids is also a path towards knowing what job and hobbies can make us happy as adults. i find that pretty accurate, ive recently watched some videos from elementary school where i talk about my hobbies apart from school and these are literally the same things that brings me joy now!
I definitely hope you do the “I’m dressing for me vs Ime dressing to fit in”. I’m neurodivergent and I’ve dealt with this my whole life. I started not caring so much in my 40s.
Oooh longer video! This was such an interesting topic. I think you did a great job replicating the overall vibe of the outfits. The outdoor videos are so reminiscent of the freedom and innocence of childhood, but I know not every kid is that lucky. Maybe I will try this experiment some day!
This looks like it was quite the undertaking of a video, but I really loved how it turned out! I'm off to go climb a tree now, thanks for the inspiration!
Hey yall:) Sorry this video was delayed (I had some Serious technical difficulties), but I hope you enjoy it! Also let me know what you think of the longer format than usual for me👀

There is something so healing about dressing up to go to the library and draw/read in complete silence, i love it. Great concept for a video too!
i relate so much to the childhood "i don't care how i look" judgments while also being fascinated by fashion
yes!!! Literally had fashion design sketchbooks but also didn't feel like I could apply it to myself haha
I love how u pointed out how some younger girls may feel uncomfortable wearing the exact same outfit you wore because their body type. I know for one I stayed away from skirts and low cut tops as a kid because my chest and butt was just to big for it and I didn't want to draw attention.

That lowkey sounds healing af
This was such a cute idea. Child me refused to wear jeans. At the end of last year, adult me realised that child me knew what was up and I no longer have any jeans in my wardrobe.
I also refused to wear jeans for several years as a kid!! Now I only like them oversized & with a little stretch to them
"adulthood is realising over and over again that everything about you was shaped by your parents" i felt that man
Shout out Hamtaro for seeing you thru every era
literalllly. my ride or die!!!!

I came to comment this!
Yea, me too. My poor young teen self. Being whistled at by adult men. It still makes me sad and angry, it's confusing and intimidating.
@@TheNikkePikkerSame here; and love to the kids we were.
I’m fifteen right now and I get honked at all the time, it’s horrible that people think it’s okay to do that
This video did make me think of my "not like other girls" era (yikes) and how I dressed for the sake of feeling less girly since it was "bad". I also had an era like that. Mostly in my teens, so now I am rejecting that idea and embracing "girlieness" in fashion.

Interesting for me I don’t remember how lil me liked to dress, all I remember was hating strips because my dad would call out STRIPS whenever I wore them 😅
7:04 OMG I HAD THAT SAME SHIRT I WORE THE HELL OUT OF IT 😭
SO DID I it was my FAVE
I loved this video, it was so eye opening to reflect on what fashion was me as a kid. For example, for me it was something I used to try to make me feel “normal” or “accepted”. I also realized how hard I’ve worked to separate myself from those beliefs. Thanks Liz for making this lovely video and inspiring me to further explore my fashion sense! - and this was totally inner child work😂💕
I also used to wear the loose, fun T-shirt with baggy shorts a lot as a kid and I recently rediscovered the style without really connecting the dots. But it is so comfy without being too basic and I don't know why I stopped wearing it in the first place.
the visceral reaction that your baby coconut girl photos gave me omg. I swear I had that same teal top with the brown accents
also that outfit really shows the power of accessories wow!! Totally different vibe once you added the necklace and clips
Your hair is beyond gorgeous
You inspired me 🩵 I am looking at a picture of me wearing a cute maroon matching set w a collar and embroidered flowers and then a vibrant green striped sweatshirt 😆 I can’t wait to dig up some more photos
HI LIZ!!! I have been binging your videos at work for the last few weeks and I absolutely love your videos and style!
this was so sweet and thoughtful💕
Such a wholesome video idea, I relate a lot to child Liz's fashion choices 😆.
Your outdoor adventure touched my soul. ❤
I LOVEDTHIS VIDEO
this is such a cool and cute idea and I loved all your thoughtful reflections!
A teal track suit and purple corduroy pants, I think I wore all the colors in 90s ☺️ oh and red pattent leathes mary jane shoes for picture days and special occasions🥰
omg love this. you also inspireed some reflection on my own childhood. i also dont know if it would like defeat the purpose of truly just letting the childhood outfits be what they were, but i would love to see you take these pieces (or just pieces inspired by your childhood style) and update them to how you would dress now.
hoodie around the waist was so me, every damn day at school omg
I ended up getting so much more out of this video than I was expecting. Thank you!
That first outfit is perfect!
I think I had the exact same melon green t-shirt with the fish graphic, when I was a kid! We're about the same age so it makes sense
omg I love that. that was one of my faves!!
This video is so calming and wholesome ❤
leaving a comment in hopes of child me visiting me in my dreams! lol but fr loved this longer format video - very insightful and inspiring. makes me want to do something similar (recreating childhood looks)
This was SUCH a cool video idea :0 I hope others do it too and try to already use what they have to do so!!
I absolutely love this video, Liz ❤ it’s so much fun “hanging out” with you when watching your videos. Thanks for the wholesome content 🌻
Omg, that red coat-hat combo your sister wore made me remember that as a child I had a similar red hat with a white bow in the front! Thank you for making this video, it was really sweet and inspiring ❤
I haven't read Freshwater but I loved Akwaeke Emezi's other book, Pet. It's marketed for younger readers but it's beautiful
Down with the elastic waist stigma!!
As a kid, I distinctly remember loving capri pants - denim, cotton, you name it. Now that I'm seeing them come back in style, I'm really not drawn to them at all! ...but maybe i just need to try a pair on, again 😂
Third outfit is super fun!
Those cool rocks and shells are indeed really cool!
loveeeee this video idea sm!!! and your ideas in general, you’re so creative ❤️❤️
OMG I'm learning the lore of the butter yellow shirt and these shorts that I am desperate to find my own version of
This is a totally awesome video! Felt very emotional through some of the reflections you shared
thank you so much for this video, its such a cool idea!! im so excited to relook through my childhood pics and try the same experiment!!
ive also heard an opinion that our hobbies and things we liked to do as kids is also a path towards knowing what job and hobbies can make us happy as adults. i find that pretty accurate, ive recently watched some videos from elementary school where i talk about my hobbies apart from school and these are literally the same things that brings me joy now!
I definitely hope you do the “I’m dressing for me vs Ime dressing to fit in”. I’m neurodivergent and I’ve dealt with this my whole life. I started not caring so much in my 40s.
I really loved this! Really tender to think back on childhood faves and memories. Really makes me want to do this :))))
Oooh longer video! This was such an interesting topic.
I think you did a great job replicating the overall vibe of the outfits.
The outdoor videos are so reminiscent of the freedom and innocence of childhood, but I know not every kid is that lucky. Maybe I will try this experiment some day!
This makes me feel so inspired thank you! 🥰
This looks like it was quite the undertaking of a video, but I really loved how it turned out! I'm off to go climb a tree now, thanks for the inspiration!
I’ve done this for a couple of years now, wearing what the little girl me would’ve worn and I agree that it’s weirdly comforting
oh I really enjoyed this video!! dressing as your child self is such a fun idea, I might have to dig through some old pictures and try this myself :D
