É uma boa orquestra. Tem um resultado excelente, bons músicos, bons instrumentos e maestro. O local tem uma acústica que impressiona, adorei acordar com essa música.
Às vezes, poucas, e principalmente organismos musicais da Europa, colocam em vitrine algumas das maravilhas que o barroco produziu!... Mas, muito há a ser mostrado, e esperamos que seja, porque uma infinidade de autores e suas criações estão no limbo, à espera que deles alguem se lembre! Esperamos por isso, e louvamos quem o fizer.
Such a joy to see Sara Mingardo's recent performance professionally recorded! In most arias and recitatives she still sounds amazing for her age! In slower arias she as good as in her prime!.. Especially the low notes. But such tension and a hard attack in Che faro... is just destroy the beaty... It's such a shame there weren't enough records in her youth... I still adore Sara anyway!.. There's no one like here in the world!
"Addio i miei sospiri" was originally not composed for "Orfeo". It was Berlioz, who added this aria to the "Orphée"-score for Pauline Viardot. He took it from Ferdinando Bertoni's "Orfeo", who himself added this aria from his own opera "Tancredi". After Berlioz's addition, it has become popular to add this aria to performances of Gluck's "Orfeo", either in French or Italian. But it is not part neither of Gluck's Italian nor French composition.
