    As a currently homeless person, I want to say thank you in behalf of the people you help with those bus passes. I'm very close to having my own place again, but there are so many people who need those bus passes to get to the jobs that will help change their lives! Great work!

      It's the same in Brazil.
      Brazil is very similar to SouthAfrica in many, many ways.
      Keep the fight. I no longer live there but I know what is like.
      Yearly a couple people get killed from mobs killing them because there was gossip about them doing witchcraft. Which is horrendous and shouldn't even exist. All because of religion
      Is religion getting mire fanatical there or has it been getting better in S.A. ?

      That's because they don't follow Jesus. He says everything can be forgiven accept denying the holy spirit which in John is called the spirit of truth. Try being more informed than them by reading 1st 4 books, Matthew Mark Luke and John. Regardless of what he does or doesn't get up to at other times, I don't think Matt gets stoned to do the show. He's very dismissive of callers he suspects are high and from experience I find pot makes you more likely to miss or avoid points of contention.

      @Lucky Catnip I believe he has said before that he does not because he doesn't enjoy the feeling, but he doesn't care if other people want to do that.
      I think most of the people who watch the show don't want to see someone who is high ramble on about God (it's hard enough with someone who's not intoxicated), so that's why he gets so dismissive about it on the show.

      Sal K, Zen is actually not about being 'calm', it is about non-reaction, which is the opposite of what all humans are conditioned to be - all humans react, either positively, or negatively. So firstly, we need to realise that we react, and it doesn't matter if we react positively, or negatively, with like, or dislike, because both are reactions which will manifest in our mind/body phenomena. Zen is about the state of mind, that is non-reactive, it is about letting the mind be at rest in the present, instead of allowing it to jump into the past, or the future. In our day to day life, we are dealing with numerous impressions, and our reactions to them. So Zen is more than anything else, about meditation. Only through the consciously not allowing the mind to jump into the past, or the future, which is what our mind is conditioned to do, will we be able to stay in the present moment, and only then, are we able to allow a kind of purity of thought and how it connects inside the body. The body and the mind are one, they are not in a state of dichotomy, they can not be separated, and therefore mind can always be over matter.

    • @AC-gb7do
      @AC-gb7do 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Nothing. It means absolutely nothing. Besides, most Christians are blissfully unaware that there are no single texts of "The Bible" as "written" just after Jesus's death. Instead, what we have are copies of texts that are themselves translations into Greek and Latin. Commonly, there are 3 different sources for what most Christians accept as "The Bible".
      Two of those sources, the Greek Manuscripts and the Byzantium Manuscripts, clearly identify the number as 666 (χξς:). Two Papyrus scraps from untranslated sources state ἑξακόσιοι δέκα ἕξ, hexakosioi deka hex, 616.
      And so what? Well, if you are a normal "I go to church now and then but don't really look for a 2nd coming" type of Christian, it's just an interesting fact about the nature of the Bible and how it was translated. If, however, you are trying to predict the End Of The World, or assign Anti-Christhood to particular people, or groups of people and you believe that the Bible is inerrant, it suddenly matters a lot.
      The Latin for "Caesar Nero" can correspond to the number 666 in Hebrew, while the Greek for the name of "Emperor Caligula" can represent the number 616. The Emperor Domitian's name can also fit into the number 666, and it goes without saying that every word in the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan is 6 letters long.
      Nero died in 68 CE and no worldwide cataclysm followed. The other Roman Emperors and Ronald Reagan died similarly without the world falling apart.

      @@AC-gb7do yeah it's all silly. My favorite is, if you apply the Hebrew numbering system to the English alphabet, "Make America Great Again" = 586, and Q (ie QAnon) = 80; add them together and it's 666.
      I think what Alvin really needs to ask himself is, is it possible to find anything in a passage like Gen 1:1 that would demonstrate it was written by a human? If not, he has an unfalsifiable hypothesis and is just wasting his time finding things in support of an idea that he's already decided must be correct

They are not doing anything because it fuels the narrative and fools the uninformed.
