    Looks good , I went with a 24" monitor with HDMI port for mine, had to widen the cabinet a little more (still working progress) it will end up being a bout 6" wider than stock though. I wish i had known previous on the 19" monitor you used , it would have been easier but I got the 24" one as a gift so finally had a use for it instead of collecting dust in storage lol.

    I'm hoping sooner or later some business or even A1U will sell a 19" or 20" upgrade kit for us non-wood workers. Also the TMNT cab looks amazing!!

    I'm perfectly fine with the original size of the LCD
    but I'm watching to know how to do monitor mods in general because I might put a 19" CRT inplace of the 19" LCD, or whatever monitor size original Pac-Man cabinets use

      I'm gonna do the same. My plan is to turn a 1Up cabinet into a real Neo Geo MVS cab using my RetroElectronik supergun and a CRT. I currently use it to play on my TV, but considering the MiSTer FPGA has a Neo Geo core now, I'll just use that for my TV needs and use my real hardware to build a cab off of. :)

    Instead of cutting the original panel, why not just buy some MDF & use the original as a template (for external dimensions)?

    So Ralph, one thing I noticed is the amount of wood on the sides. Looks like only an inch or so. Since you already put it in the cab, it appears it will be at least ok for now. Do you feel with the extra weight of the monitor and the larger hole opening causing less wood on the sides that you might potentially have any issues down the road like either warping, cracking or breaking? Do you feel you may need to put a brace over the back of the monitor and secure that to the top and bottom parts running vertically; to take some stress off the sides? It's hard to judge because you know how sturdy it is by having it in your hands vs us just looking at the video. Great job btw man! Love it!

    • @RetroRalph
      @RetroRalph  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 19" display is honestly not that much heavier than the 17" that shipped with the product. I was surprised by that actually. I thought I might need extra reinforcement as well but after picking it up and seeing only a marginal increase in weight, I made the choice to mount it as is. I have had it mounted in my Neo Geo mod for months with no issues, so I'm going to call that battle tested. It's my most utilized cab so it get's put through the paces daily. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel man. I love all the engagement and creative ideas that are coming out of the community!
