      Yeah it was a big thing 20 years ago for sure if your on a sport bike , they would never give you the biker wave as you passed one another, and I can Guarantee it's still the same when it comes to the 1% bikers and Just "Hardcore" 😠🤬Harley only or die bikers..☠ It's pretty sad they have that attitude as if "racist" towards anyone other than Harley rider's, It's freaking Hilarious, because most other manufacturers build better engines that are reliable with more power, The V-rod engine was designed by Porsche for Harley and Porshe designed the V4 "Nova" project for Harley also, but Harley could not afford it and was also Leary of putting a v4 in their bikes that made more power..😆 @@BUILDEMTORIDE

    I have a 2018. I got it used in 2019. It had 2371 miles on it. So the original owner did not like it, or it scared the bazeebers out of him. I will go with option 2. Today, I hit 57k miles. 13 Sets of tires later, I will tell you, it has been miles of smiles. I have had so much fun with this thing. You can cruise for hours. Your weight is on your butt, not your wrists, like a crotch rocket, and it corners so good. There is tons of torque coming out of the corners, enough to make a crotch rocket nervous. In a straight line, from a dig, it is hard to beat. It has no traction control, wheelie control, launch control, nothing but abs. It is just you, and the machine. You have to figure out how to get out of the hole, and not blow off the tire, unlike the modern crotch rocket, that uses computers to help you ride. My monster is not under my bed. It is in the garage. Waiting on me.

      Definitely not 2009.
      2009 was the first year of Gen2 (the 1700cc VMax). There were two anniversary Vmaxes. The 30 years VMax and the 60 years (?) Yamaha.
      Both "special editions" come with special special color, actually the 30 years Vmax is real carbon fibre all way round - not the scoobs though - and it comes with Akrapovic exhausts.

    I have the same year vmax. A new front tire will help but won't cure it fighting you in the corners. It likes to go straight when you're on the throttle. When i bought mine it had metzeler 888's on it and you could roll on the throttle anywhere in 1st or 2nd and melt the tire. Now i have new shinko's and it only spins when its cold. I kinda miss the spin in some ways because it was soo controllable and fun af. It the most fun I've ever had on two wheels! 100 mile range on super only sucks and I'm very careful with my throttle lock.

    Vmax sits in a special niche. It is not a sport bike. It is not really a "Cruiser". The only bikes that fit in with it are the likes of the Rocket 3 and Duval. They are not Nakeds, Standards, or Tourer, they are muscle bikes. The thrill of the acceleration. The smoking of the rear, and just lone wolf persona of it makes it stand tall.

    I’ve never cried over anyone else’s bike. While the VM is a nice enough machine, it would never replace my Road Glide. Just like a Pan America, it would be a nice addition for quick blasts around town or county. But I would never go back to something with the same or worse range than my old 94 Sportster. I gave up my Street Rossi days a while ago, but if I feel them coming on, my bro will lend me his Busa.
    The title made me laugh, because the number of “Harley bros” who tell you about a “real bike” is much lower now than the number of cope bros telling everyone how they don’t even want a Harley and using AMF-era problems such as oil leaks as some kind of burn.

    Thanks Spite. Finally, an in-depth really good normal review on the VMax. Nothing but facts told on this whole review. Especially the fuel thirst and the fun teasing that comes along from your friends. Like, you just topped off, leave the gas station, come up on another gas station after 10 miles of riding and your friends wisecrack and jokingly asking if we all need to pull in again! 😂 Funtimes!! I got my 2014 new and it is still 100% an absolute joy to ride. Such a great bike. Zero issues. It's a super comfortable cruiser, the braking is fierce, and bottom line, it's fast AF!! I could own 10-20 different MC's and my 14' Vmax is still a motorcycle I never see myself getting rid of. Oh yeah, my beard got longer watching this vid.

    The VMAX1700 is the ultimate collector of speed. (and gas station receipts) It's nearly impossible to not smile when riding. You have to use equal amounts of power and nerve to make it go were you want it to go. A literal beast!
    P.S. The throttle lock is pretty much useless on the Max. Any throttle input, at all, simply adds speed. It is nearly impossible to find the minuscule throttle position that will maintain your speed without accelerating. Yes, it's that eager to go faster.

  • @choppergirl
    @choppergirl 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Unless you're racing on a race track, I don't know why anybody would need more than about 40hp on a motorcycle.
    Above that point, all you're doing is burning up gas in large cylinders for no gain at all and your mpg goes down from it.
    The more cc's you have, the lower the mpg's you have. It's a trade off. 450cc and 40hp is about the sweet spot trade off between still having plenty of fun acceleration and a reasonably decent 50 mpg. I looked up the mpg on the Yamaha VMax... 28mpg. Basically, about that of a car.
