I have this rice cooker for a while and forgot about it. While ordering things I found it and use it with my new power station. It cooked my chicken stew with veggies meal really. fast for a 12 v. I will enjoy my camping trips more now since I do not like fuels in my car.

Yum! I recommend using a wooden spoon since the metal will scratch it.

Yep, think the same thing for sure. I use the small size Silicone spoons and also the spatulas most often. Easier to clean up with disinfectant sprays.

I suggest using the plastic utensil as the metal will scrape the coating and then everything starts sticking and that's a nightmare because then it burns I learned that less in the hard way. I replaced it I absolutely love it!!!

@@ArtfulOutdoorAdventures - I've seen this channel for the first time a minute ago. Just two things I'd recommend (regardless that there’s a chance that someone had done this already).
      a) Induction cooking. Benefits: won’t heat anything except your pot, but is as fast as gas, without the fire hazard. If you use a specific bowl-shaped WOK-induction device you're fine with a WOK-pan only.
      b) If using a standard flat induction, pots like the "Tefal Ingenio" Series are a perfect deal as those provide a handle that could be clicked on/off. That way you can store leftovers in the same pot in your fridge (they even provide plastic lids for it).
BTw, regarding non-stick coating: High heat is its main enemy. If overheated it'll peel off sooner or later. Therefore the above mentioned Tefal pans/pots provide a "heat sensor spot" that changes its color once the pot reaches a specific heat level. So in general for less hot stuff like vegetables a non-stick pan is fine, but for meat etc. that should be browned and crusty you should go for stainless steel (you can make that even non-stick as well!).

My goto dish is sliced carrot and sliced potato in the steamer basket, season with salt, pepper and mixed herbs. Add a frozen (or not frozen) fish fillet or a couple of sausages on top of the rice. Press cook button and then eat.
Obviously not gourmet cooking but easy, convenient and edible.

@@ArtfulOutdoorAdventures rice cookers are incredibly versatile. Something else I do is bulk cook meals e.g. chilli con carne. Separate the meals into portions to freeze. This rice cooker has a small steamer basket so you have to freeze the portions in a shape which will fit into the steamer basket with the lid closed.
When you want to eat, put rice into rice cooker and frozen chilli con carne into the steamer basket. Press cook and eat.
Btw, you can buy or make extension cables. Female connector at one end and male connector on the other. When I first started playing around with solar and 12v dc devices, I defo needed a cigarette lighter extension cable as everything worked from that socket, these were the days before usb chargeable devices.

Very nice to see your little rice cooker demo. 12V is so convenient when traveling, especially when the lid clamps shut good. I have a RoadPro warmer/oven but it doesn't automatically shut off, manual shut off only so I do have to check it when traveling. That can be an inconvenience at times. Your little rice cooker would solve that because of its automatic shut-off ❤. I can think of several great cooking recipes 😋 for that great little low watt cooker! Thanks 😊!

There was some storm surge on the coast, but we are far enough south and inland not to feel much effect from the storm. A couple of windy and rainy days. I feel for those north of us who cannot say the same. 😔 Thank you for asking.

Wow ❤I like your bubbly personality…these are the kind of videos that we want ,take the power stations to real life tasks people ,how many watts did it finally draw ?

    • @ArtfulOutdoorAdventures
      @ArtfulOutdoorAdventures  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks! 😊 I forgot to look when it was finished, but the cooker is listed at 450 watts per hour and it only took about 25 minutes. So maybe 200 watts. That’s just a guess. I was also taking in solar which would offset that use. With good sunlight the solar brings in a little over 200 watts per hour.

@@ArtfulOutdoorAdventures Nice review! So if you only used your vehicle's cigarette lighter it would take considerably longer, yes? ?? I'm still learning about Van cooking options. My Van has a built-in 300 watt pure sine Inverter but I haven't used it much. For rainy day cooking I'm planning to use a portable power station. Thanks 😊!

🙂1/1 turns our perfect for me. If I were cooking it on a stove top then I would add a little more water to account for evaporation.
