Even if he does "forget" for many years it would not be hard to remember again. Even for much less serious subjects, admittedly only like 15 years ago for me, I can suddenly feel a strong connection to a past experience, and Reckful was a good friend of Soda's who killed himself. Remember that Disney movies exist in reality, and so Disney-movie sentiments exist in reality. Just something to add to the equation. And if Soda does remember it wouldn't even contradict the fact that life isn't a Disney movie, because I can't think of a Disney movie where someone's close friend kills themselves. Its been a while since this video was uploaded and this comment will probably not be seen, but I just want to put out there that Byron was such a fucking inspiration to me. I remember being really fucking sad after coming home from school and listening to my parents fight, I didn't have a lot of friends in real life so i would spend hours on world of warcraft. I found Byrons stream and instantly fell in love with his personality. He was incredibly open about everything including his depression, which really helped me reflect on the problems going on in my own life. I don't think I'd be who I am today, or even be here at all if It wasn't for Byron and his streams. Its so strange how someone I've never even met left such a huge impact on my life, and I would give anything to just personally thank him for everything he's done for me and so many other people.

We need a PvP season for Byron. The Gladiator title will be called "Reckful Gladiator". The elite PvP vendor will be named Byron Bernstein. This needs to happen.
I like the "Reckful Gladiator" title, it even sounds "good" for those that dont know him. And to those that do, it has alot of meaning to it. There is already a character in-game named after Byron.

i've never followed reckful much so it never hit me as much as others that were part of his journey. But that last clip.. That last clip hit me just from a raw human emotion. Just this everlasting sadness of physically not being able to ever fulfil that promise or dream because the person is gone. Wish you all the best man and hope byron can rest in peace.
Just because he's not here physically doesn't mean that promise can't be fulfilled. I believe the soul of those we hold dear are intertwined with ours, beyond death. Always with us. Byron's passion will always live within us and it should set an example of how to hold close those we love.
I never realt watched reckful or any other streamer for that mater. But after he hit the respwn button i have invested some time in looking up what kind of relationship these streamers have and now this shit makes me feel those raw emotions too. Hope soda gets to sitt on that bench atleast

its so weird man. everything feels the same/normal until i find myself watching another one of these videos. i miss him, man. suicide is a tricky thing and there's often nothing to be done to save the person, but i just want to tell him that life matters and that HIS life especially mattered to so many. fuck.
He may be gone physically, but he'll always be here in spirit. He's at a much better place now, with his long lost brother, free from suffering. Just so extremely sad for his parents and brother, who have to suffer through not one but two suicides of family members. I can't even begin to fathom how hard it must have been for them.

Reckful and Sodapoppin were the first 2 accounts that I followed on Twitch. I started watching them when I was 13 and I'm 20 now. Byron and Chance both were people I felt I could relate to, and watching their streams helped me through some bad times. Although I quit WoW during WoD, I always checked into their streams to see how they were doing and I followed the latest drama and whatever was going on in the community. I still always watched every youtube video released on both of their channels. In fact, when I heard the news of Byron's passing, I immediately thought about Chance and how he was feeling. I knew this was going to hit him hard because they'd been close for so long. Immediately after I thought about Mitch, who made mistakes that unfortunately cost him friendship with Byron, but just because you don't talk anymore doesn't mean you don't have love for that person, and reflect on good memories from time to time. Stupid temporary things like women and money cause people to do things that hurt others, but once someone passes away, we realize how small these things actually are, and I know Mitch and Chance both felt that way. They both wish they could have one more day to spend with Byron. I thought that Byron needed help, and that his sensitive nature could cause him pain and take away his happiness. I wish he could've found some way to enjoy his life, because he helped many enjoy theirs. I thought that he was an intelligent person, who like me, has trouble getting out of his own head. It hurts to know that Byron felt so awful, that he saw no end to it, and no future where his life is worth living. I wish he could've held on. I know I'll miss him, and I never even met him.

No life is wonderful. Life is what you make it, and we all die. Byron brought a ton a good to this world even if his time was short. THAT is what matters. The things you do and the legacy you leave behind is the ONLY thing that matters. And only you are in control of that. Life is complex. It has good times and bad. Sometimes bad times come with pain and suffering and it feels like those bad times will never end. They do in most cases unless you are terminally ill. The reason that suicide is cowardly and selfish, is because you are harming other people by your actions. Just look at how much suffering his actions has caused those that loved and cared for him. Many still suffer when thinking of him. That is wrong to me. Taking your life may bring you relief, but it does not relieve those you leave behind. Almost a transfer of the pain and suffering onto others. I cant imagine hurting my family and loved ones in this way, and this comes from someone who has serious depression and anxiety and has suffered for 2 decades now. I will continue to endure and accept the ups and downs, the pain and suffering that come with my flawed brain. I will continue to seek help and try to better my life and I will FIGHT for my life. Life is precious and short. If I continue to suffer, it is only a matter of TIME before it ends naturally on its own anyway. Maybe just a bit longer than I would like..

Fuck man, this one really took me. 20 now, watched Chance and Byron since i was 11-12. Sure this will be for so many others aswell, Byron really saved my ass. His ability to be open about his mental state and talk about real issues like depression and anxiety got me to get passed the stigma of not being "okay" and admitting when you need help. Now changed my life for the better, god knows how many others he saved knowing or not. He truly was a gift. As shit as this is hope we can take it as a reminder to check up on your friends and family, most silent tend to be the ones most in pain. Especially to all the men out there young an old, we tend to tuck our true emotions down. Don't feel like you're less of a man if you gotta take a pill to get through a rough patch or even just to open up to one of the bros. Trust me they'll care to hear it.
I think the last clip proves that Byron never intended to commit suicide throughout his life. The lows overwhelmed him and he was unable to overcome them. I miss him and his personality so much. Praying for soda and everyone who knew him personally. Rip Byron.
Yeap, when he was in his happiest or at the very least not completely down, you could see what his mind wanted. He wanted friendships and he wanted to grow old and have nostalgia trips about this shit. But the manic depression was too much.
yes, suicide is irrationnal, once you have suicidal thougts if you overcome them you re good to go until the next ones, and unfortunatly one day it's too much and you feel like you can't take it no more that this is the solution and you commit the irreparable :(
As someone who deals with this issue on a daily, it is really complicated because you're of two minds. One part of me says to live on and see what comes of life, and the other says that it won't amount to anything and it'll just keep hurting. It's a constant battle, and you never know which one wins in the end until it happens. RIP and bless everyone else struggling, no matter what with or how hard.

I don't remember the last time I cried with actual tears. This was such an incredibly sweet and well made tribute to Byron. My friend lost his father due to an heartattack. I grew up with him being an extra father to me because my friend and i were (and still is) close. It’s scary how someone you met or talked to the other day just disappears. Keep your loved ones close ❤️

It’s 3am and I came back to this video because Reckful was a huge inspiration to me and still is to this day. He helped me seek help and get better with my bipolar disorder by watching him talk to Dr K and I’m doing much better now but I don’t think I’d be here today if it wasn’t for Byron. RIP You’ll always be a legend to everyone.
In 3 months, it will be 3 years since his passing. For 3 years, I have only cried for two reasons. Byron's passing is the more soul-crushing of the two. I've lost my ability to feel, I'm in the same mood constantly, but there's something about this, man, that moves me to my core. I thought by now I'd be over it, haven't cried in over a year, but I guess this will be a soft spot forever.

I know this feels like a lot to share, but I always wanted to share how I feel about reckful if I am being completely honest byron was the best friend that I never had or met, which is why this video always makes me break down in tears. I used to always tune up at his streams when I was feeling sad or lonely, and somehow watching him made me feel happy because of his unique and cozy personality. He made me open up on myself and my mental issues because he was the first to talk with dr K and start the whole AOE effect. Losing him was like losing a part of my identity because I resonated so much with so many things he used to say on stream. He provided me with a sense of community as an immigrant who was constantly looking for a place to call home, and even since he left us I feel like my world is torn apart. My only hope in life is that I can become successful to make him and my parents happy, I will forever remember you byron bernstein...... i really appreciate the sentiment, but byron had mental illnesses that brought him to killing himself, not the idea that people didn't care about him or anything like that. we need drastic reform of how we handle mental illness, suicidal ideation, and treatment in this country. you should read merkx's (his roommate) twitlong about byron to understand. i'm not saying this to be rude, but the more people understand the complexity of suicide prevention, the quicker we can do something about it and truly save more people. i hope whoever is reading this is ok, do reach out to people if you need help.

This isn't just someone's mentality, this is caused by the mental illness. This can also lead to them not wanting to seek help, which is why TheBigH's comment reinforces the 'no shame'.

I was there in 2010 Justin TV, the platform was so simple, made my account ~2011, WoW was at the top of the charts most of the times followed by League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth and Starcraft 2, I could never bring myself to check these games I was a Runescape guy and the few that used to stream used Own3d instead, I only started watching Twitch regularly after Skyrim came out (11-11-11) I still remember the dude's channel (BeardedGaming), he showed me what playing a game LIVE could be from a viewer perspective. Later on I picked up Sodapoppin, when he used to rent his house to College girls, those were the times. I only got to know about Reckful after he was banned from WoW, I couldn't put myself together to endure Hearthstone, but I did my research, what an ARENA GOD, very charming and appealing to watch someone peak perform with no sweat, I am so sad I had different stuff in mind around that time, but some things happen a certain way for a reason, because when he picked up IRL and cozy Streaming (League of Legends, TFT, Smash Bros or simply just drinking Tea to his amazing taste in music), I found myself 'late nighting' sometimes past 4AM to wake up at 8AM for classes the following day, and trust me I wouldn't do that to anyone else, just him in particular. He didn't stream much the past year, I watched a lot of Lirik, Sodapoppin, xQc sometimes Forsen, but as soon as I saw that rainbow Icon, my heart lit up, I always knew I'd be in a safe place for the next few hours and I was never wrong. He was an Angel, the most genuine person on the platform, when in the middle of 10k viewers some dude says 'I want [INSERT ITEM] for Christmas/Birthday' and the Streamer reads it in between all these other 100's of messages, and buy him that [ITEM], you know he has attention for details, and his intentions were always great, he could never let a moment go by knowing he could make a difference, and I've been watching countless streamers talking about him and almost 100% of them said something along the lines 'Do you see this?? Yeah, Reckful recommended it.' or 'Yeah, Reckful inspired me to do it.', because that's what he always was, someone that was always there for his friends, someone that had an Aura so welcoming, that within a list of different streamers, my eyes would focus on his 'Rainbow Avatar' every time I'd pick someone to watch that night. He will be missed, I will 100% binge watch some of his most legendary stuff, not just this month, but every time his presence comes to mind, because that's literally what would happen when he was within us physically, 'Lets see who is Live, MAYBE RECKFUL IS...', now that he isn't with us physically, the story remains 'Let's see who is Live, I HAVE AN URGE FOR SOMEONE COSY, that Spain Stream with Forsen is amazing, I need some of that in my Life'. I still come across unseen gems from way long ago, and as I said above some things happen a specific way for a reason, because everyday I find new things about this amazing human being, it's almost as he he left us some much that we rediscover him everyday. I didn't mean to go on a rant, but I really needed to Vent somewhere and after watching all these amazing memories I got inspired once again. RIP Byron (P.S: That Mirror Museum Stream is still one of my all time favorites, the autism was so strong, couldn't stop laughing the whole time PURE GOLD.)

Even if he does "forget" for many years it would not be hard to remember again. Even for much less serious subjects, admittedly only like 15 years ago for me, I can suddenly feel a strong connection to a past experience, and Reckful was a good friend of Soda's who killed himself. Remember that Disney movies exist in reality, and so Disney-movie sentiments exist in reality. Just something to add to the equation. And if Soda does remember it wouldn't even contradict the fact that life isn't a Disney movie, because I can't think of a Disney movie where someone's close friend kills themselves. Appreciate the good and the bad.

Its been a while since this video was uploaded and this comment will probably not be seen, but I just want to put out there that Byron was such a fucking inspiration to me. I remember being really fucking sad after coming home from school and listening to my parents fight, I didn't have a lot of friends in real life so i would spend hours on world of warcraft. I found Byrons stream and instantly fell in love with his personality. He was incredibly open about everything including his depression, which really helped me reflect on the problems going on in my own life. I don't think I'd be who I am today, or even be here at all if It wasn't for Byron and his streams. Its so strange how someone I've never even met left such a huge impact on my life, and I would give anything to just personally thank him for everything he's done for me and so many other people.

i've never followed reckful much so it never hit me as much as others that were part of his journey. But that last clip.. That last clip hit me just from a raw human emotion. Just this everlasting sadness of physically not being able to ever fulfil that promise or dream because the person is gone. Wish you all the best man and hope byron can rest in peace.

He may be gone physically, but he'll always be here in spirit. He's at a much better place now, with his long lost brother, free from suffering. Just so extremely sad for his parents and brother, who have to suffer through not one but two suicides of family members. I can't even begin to fathom how hard it must have been for them.

Reckful and Sodapoppin were the first 2 accounts that I followed on Twitch. I started watching them when I was 13 and I'm 20 now. Byron and Chance both were people I felt I could relate to, and watching their streams helped me through some bad times. Although I quit WoW during WoD, I always checked into their streams to see how they were doing and I followed the latest drama and whatever was going on in the community. I still always watched every youtube video released on both of their channels. In fact, when I heard the news of Byron's passing, I immediately thought about Chance and how he was feeling. I knew this was going to hit him hard because they'd been close for so long. Immediately after I thought about Mitch, who made mistakes that unfortunately cost him friendship with Byron, but just because you don't talk anymore doesn't mean you don't have love for that person, and reflect on good memories from time to time. Stupid temporary things like women and money cause people to do things that hurt others, but once someone passes away, we realize how small these things actually are, and I know Mitch and Chance both felt that way. They both wish they could have one more day to spend with Byron. I thought that Byron needed help, and that his sensitive nature could cause him pain and take away his happiness. I wish he could've found some way to enjoy his life, because he helped many enjoy theirs. I thought that he was an intelligent person, who like me, has trouble getting out of his own head. It hurts to know that Byron felt so awful, that he saw no end to it, and no future where his life is worth living. I wish he could've held on.
I know I'll miss him, and I never even met him.

Even after 8 months, still can't believe it, life is fucked.
No life is wonderful. Life is what you make it, and we all die. Byron brought a ton a good to this world even if his time was short. THAT is what matters. The things you do and the legacy you leave behind is the ONLY thing that matters. And only you are in control of that. Life is complex. It has good times and bad. Sometimes bad times come with pain and suffering and it feels like those bad times will never end. They do in most cases unless you are terminally ill. The reason that suicide is cowardly and selfish, is because you are harming other people by your actions. Just look at how much suffering his actions has caused those that loved and cared for him. Many still suffer when thinking of him. That is wrong to me. Taking your life may bring you relief, but it does not relieve those you leave behind. Almost a transfer of the pain and suffering onto others. I cant imagine hurting my family and loved ones in this way, and this comes from someone who has serious depression and anxiety and has suffered for 2 decades now. I will continue to endure and accept the ups and downs, the pain and suffering that come with my flawed brain. I will continue to seek help and try to better my life and I will FIGHT for my life. Life is precious and short. If I continue to suffer, it is only a matter of TIME before it ends naturally on its own anyway. Maybe just a bit longer than I would like..

Fuck man, this one really took me. 20 now, watched Chance and Byron since i was 11-12. Sure this will be for so many others aswell, Byron really saved my ass. His ability to be open about his mental state and talk about real issues like depression and anxiety got me to get passed the stigma of not being "okay" and admitting when you need help. Now changed my life for the better, god knows how many others he saved knowing or not. He truly was a gift. As shit as this is hope we can take it as a reminder to check up on your friends and family, most silent tend to be the ones most in pain. Especially to all the men out there young an old, we tend to tuck our true emotions down. Don't feel like you're less of a man if you gotta take a pill to get through a rough patch or even just to open up to one of the bros. Trust me they'll care to hear it.

Yeap, when he was in his happiest or at the very least not completely down, you could see what his mind wanted. He wanted friendships and he wanted to grow old and have nostalgia trips about this shit. But the manic depression was too much.
yes, suicide is irrationnal, once you have suicidal thougts if you overcome them you re good to go until the next ones, and unfortunatly one day it's too much and you feel like you can't take it no more that this is the solution and you commit the irreparable :(

As someone who deals with this issue on a daily, it is really complicated because you're of two minds. One part of me says to live on and see what comes of life, and the other says that it won't amount to anything and it'll just keep hurting. It's a constant battle, and you never know which one wins in the end until it happens. RIP and bless everyone else struggling, no matter what with or how hard.

It’s 3am and I came back to this video because Reckful was a huge inspiration to me and still is to this day. He helped me seek help and get better with my bipolar disorder by watching him talk to Dr K and I’m doing much better now but I don’t think I’d be here today if it wasn’t for Byron.

In 3 months, it will be 3 years since his passing. For 3 years, I have only cried for two reasons. Byron's passing is the more soul-crushing of the two. I've lost my ability to feel, I'm in the same mood constantly, but there's something about this, man, that moves me to my core. I thought by now I'd be over it, haven't cried in over a year, but I guess this will be a soft spot forever.
What you are describing is called anhedonia. I struggle with it for over a decade and there were times I could feel again but it comes back. It's really hell and you don't feel any emotion at any time. I wish you the best

I watched him everyday for years. He helped me through some of the saddest and loneliest times of my life. I threw my phone in disbelief when I found out 3 years ago, and I still ball my eyes out every time I get reminded of this. He did not deserve this, he was too young, I wish I was in twitch chat that day, and the people that were in chat and said those horrible things to a man already on the edge struggling you should feel guilt and shame. Rest in peace 🕊️ to this kind soul, may you find happiness in the next life, we miss you 🤍
I know this feels like a lot to share, but I always wanted to share how I feel about reckful
if I am being completely honest byron was the best friend that I never had or met, which is why this video always makes me break down in tears. I used to always tune up at his streams when I was feeling sad or lonely, and somehow watching him made me feel happy because of his unique and cozy personality. He made me open up on myself and my mental issues because he was the first to talk with dr K and start the whole AOE effect. Losing him was like losing a part of my identity because I resonated so much with so many things he used to say on stream. He provided me with a sense of community as an immigrant who was constantly looking for a place to call home, and even since he left us I feel like my world is torn apart. My only hope in life is that I can become successful to make him and my parents happy, I will forever remember you byron bernstein......

i really appreciate the sentiment, but byron had mental illnesses that brought him to killing himself, not the idea that people didn't care about him or anything like that. we need drastic reform of how we handle mental illness, suicidal ideation, and treatment in this country. you should read merkx's (his roommate) twitlong about byron to understand. i'm not saying this to be rude, but the more people understand the complexity of suicide prevention, the quicker we can do something about it and truly save more people. i hope whoever is reading this is ok, do reach out to people if you need help.
@@honeydew1 Just in short: People who are depressed or otherwise suicidal often have thoughts that people don't care, that others don't want them around, or other strongly negative thoughts. This isn't just someone's mentality, this is caused by the mental illness. This can also lead to them not wanting to seek help, which is why TheBigH's comment reinforces the 'no shame'.
@@WufeiLord Doesn't help when you are dealing with this illness like other illnesses that their is a stigma. Which can make people not reach out.

My brother passed away in June 2019. I carry the weight of the loss every single day. It has crushed me and made me so intensely depressed and anxious. I don't know how to keep going when I am exhausted. I don't even have a job or license and I left school. I am so torn and have no one to open up to. 😭💔

Here again, it's been a year since the passing of Byron and Blue622. I just wanted to say that, this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. And I thank you for that. For a lot of us, we never got to know Byron personally, but he reached so many of us in so many ways. I hope that, wherever he is, he is at peace. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being you, for being Byron's friend, confidant, supporter. Thanks for everything. Don't be sad because it's over, smile because it happened. RIP.
I was there in 2010 Justin TV, the platform was so simple, made my account ~2011, WoW was at the top of the charts most of the times followed by League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth and Starcraft 2, I could never bring myself to check these games I was a Runescape guy and the few that used to stream used Own3d instead, I only started watching Twitch regularly after Skyrim came out (11-11-11) I still remember the dude's channel (BeardedGaming), he showed me what playing a game LIVE could be from a viewer perspective. Later on I picked up Sodapoppin, when he used to rent his house to College girls, those were the times. I only got to know about Reckful after he was banned from WoW, I couldn't put myself together to endure Hearthstone, but I did my research, what an ARENA GOD, very charming and appealing to watch someone peak perform with no sweat, I am so sad I had different stuff in mind around that time, but some things happen a certain way for a reason, because when he picked up IRL and cozy Streaming (League of Legends, TFT, Smash Bros or simply just drinking Tea to his amazing taste in music), I found myself 'late nighting' sometimes past 4AM to wake up at 8AM for classes the following day, and trust me I wouldn't do that to anyone else, just him in particular. He didn't stream much the past year, I watched a lot of Lirik, Sodapoppin, xQc sometimes Forsen, but as soon as I saw that rainbow Icon, my heart lit up, I always knew I'd be in a safe place for the next few hours and I was never wrong. He was an Angel, the most genuine person on the platform, when in the middle of 10k viewers some dude says 'I want [INSERT ITEM] for Christmas/Birthday' and the Streamer reads it in between all these other 100's of messages, and buy him that [ITEM], you know he has attention for details, and his intentions were always great, he could never let a moment go by knowing he could make a difference, and I've been watching countless streamers talking about him and almost 100% of them said something along the lines 'Do you see this?? Yeah, Reckful recommended it.' or 'Yeah, Reckful inspired me to do it.', because that's what he always was, someone that was always there for his friends, someone that had an Aura so welcoming, that within a list of different streamers, my eyes would focus on his 'Rainbow Avatar' every time I'd pick someone to watch that night. He will be missed, I will 100% binge watch some of his most legendary stuff, not just this month, but every time his presence comes to mind, because that's literally what would happen when he was within us physically, 'Lets see who is Live, MAYBE RECKFUL IS...', now that he isn't with us physically, the story remains 'Let's see who is Live, I HAVE AN URGE FOR SOMEONE COSY, that Spain Stream with Forsen is amazing, I need some of that in my Life'. I still come across unseen gems from way long ago, and as I said above some things happen a specific way for a reason, because everyday I find new things about this amazing human being, it's almost as he he left us some much that we rediscover him everyday. I didn't mean to go on a rant, but I really needed to Vent somewhere and after watching all these amazing memories I got inspired once again.

(P.S: That Mirror Museum Stream is still one of my all time favorites, the autism was so strong, couldn't stop laughing the whole time PURE GOLD.)
