Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the game, but hard disagree on this one. Half of the game I spent on the same armor set and the same weapon because I didn't find any armor better than the exile armor and I didn't find almost any dex scaling weapons. The only thing you find exploring is some grease or other consumables and all the hidden walls and puzzles either gave you a mage staff or a memory slot. The other half of the game it gave you more stuff but nevertheless, the mountaintops and the snow area before the haligtree was completely empty
@@mikechartofilis I can see your point, only because you're putting qualifiers on the emptiness of the game. Cause it is very easy to get a weapon inventory crammed full of stuff. Everywhere you go you'll find anywhere from 1 to 3 weapons and just keep piling them on. But, most of them will be strength scaling or will require Faith or Arcane in order to use. But since you're like me, and you prefer Dex weapons, we don't have much luck finding the kinds of weapons we want to use. You're also not wrong about the armor. Armor sets were much harder to come by and I had to research exactly where to track down one that would serve me well for a good long while. But even then, I think the fact that I didn't feel the need to build up my Endurance stat kept me from changing armors, because in order to wear better armor, I'd need more carry-weight so that I don't fat-roll. So once I grabbed the Carian Knight set, I've been wearing that most of the time because it's solid and it looks nice.
As someone with a paralyzing fear of wasps, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard when I see the first guy 😂😂 that would be me but I probably wouldn’t even finish the fight 🤣

what's kinda amazing for me is, some of those things that made them mald wasnt even that hard. maybe it all comes down to the build and weapon of choice. i never even play any soulsbourne series before this one. you just gotta grasp the concept of the game. it is hard at first but as soon as you have access to level up (which is not that far from the starting point), the difficulty of this game is down to a matter of your own choice. because you can completely overpower anything. first thing you need to do is scaling your own power to the enemies, for example, once you get the horse, try go to that gate, a giant drop down, arrows shooting at you, soldiers swarming, a clusterfuck. you'd most likely die right? then maybe you shouldnt go there, walk away, find enemies you can kill, as it gradually getting harder, stay there until its not that hard anymore, then advance somewhere else. rinse and repeat. as easy as that. now its your own choice isnt it? lets say you encounter a boss, you died, its hard, but you think its possible so you keep trying. now that's your own choice right? you can walk away, level up some more maybe find better means to fight like upgrading weapon or magics or something, then comeback and beat the boss's ass, or you keep trying. well.. most streamers would like to go gigachad on anything they encounter just like fighting the tree sentinel and die for 4hours. its alright for content. but remember. that's how they earned their living, they gain something from that pain and agony. but you, as casual gamer, you get none of it but an endless misery. just enjoy the game at your own pace.
I have been saying this since the beginning when all the idiots were demanding an easy mode, I just don't get how people don't understand that there is a way to make it pretty much as easy or hard as you want. That's why as someone new to these games I did some research and figured out that as long as it's an open world with enemies that respawn and allow you to level up then I could do it. I would say that personally I really don't like it when streamers spend a ton of time just throwing themselves at a big boss only to die over and over and over....for hrs. Those are actually the streams that I leave right away because I know that the video is just a time sink and I have better things to do than watch that. If I need information or a guide for a game I don't want to see the same fight 20 times..lol I would rather spend that time either playing it myself, or watching a documentary, or maybe listening to a podcast, book, or something that informs or teaches me. I guess that I just don't like games that repeat the same exact thing over and over, sort of like Dead by Daylight. I like new scenery, exploring, finding and collecting things, and story heavy games. It's ridiculous that ppl expect every game to be exactly what everyone likes....this idea is working it's way into everything around us irl not just in games or online. It's ye old participation trophy syndrome all grown up into adult children.
I agree with you but some people just don't have all that time and they would just like to enjoy the game without wasting time grinding and grinding over and over again, they would like to finish the game, but not on the death bed.
When i first started this game, I also raged a little. But then I told myself "what's the point of getting angry at a videogame? Just get better! Nothing is easy, even in life". Now I'm enjoying the game even more. I might die 500 times, but I know that each death is a new learning.

Just like BoTW in the sense that going in blind and not looking much up at all you will still be finding new areas after 100 hours. I'm at 170 hours in Elden Ring and I am positive there are areas I haven't been. It's the same with me. Once I beat Niall (which took me about 5 hours), I was so excited that I stopped playing when I got to Malenia. It's an amazing feeling to know that you are able to overcome challenges with my own ability.
I wouldn't say there is nothing to find when roming around exploring the map. But I can understand where he is coming from with open-world games. Rather than having a set objective point, you have to explore inorder to gain progress and sometimes stuble upon bosses that you didn't know was there or wasn't planning on fighting. I don't play open world games because I would lose interest quickly having to find my next quest. However, Hats off to gamers out there that enjoy playing open-world!! You guys keep having fun. But that ain't my cup of tea.
Honestly i for example love open world games, where you just run around and find stuff randomly, but I just find it kind of dumb, wenn he says, that he hates open world games especially when the description of Eldenring literally says vast open world. He could just run to the bosses, like in Botw. There you can choose between going straight to Ganonor explore the world first. In Eldenring it's kind of the same. One of the reasons why I like both of the games.
This complaint just doesn't hold up as much to me when the internet exists. If you really don't know where to go there are about 1000 guides online that you can follow step by step, and play it like a traditional souls game
It's definitely a slow burner for me. I play some and then have a break and then play some more, and that's helped keep the game alive. I think if I tried to play it every day I'd get tired of running around too and probably miss the majority of things the game offers when you explore!
I laugh then too, but probably for other reasons ... I'm sorry, but Asmongold in particular not seldom does things in Elden Ring where I would like to say "Dear children, don't do this at home what the nice uncle is showing you here." ... sometimes he just runs straight and rather imprudently and unprepared into any expected difficult fights because he thinks he is the "hero" who defeats them all immediately and then he is surprised if he dies immediately ... a particularly negative example for me is his fight against the "Death Rite Bird" in "Mountaintops of the Giants", against which he fights many times unsuccessfully and behaves quite clumsily, because I killed this bird immediately in close combat on the first try and found it no harder than all the other birds before and I`m not a so-called "expert" and I asked myself "Holy shish kebap, what is he doing there?"
Man, I`ve played this game twice now and I never got rage. Every time I couldn`t do something, I would just take a brake and try it again next day. Is unbelievable how people get upset over this.
I have only raged once evr in all souls game i have payed which i hve played all except ds2, demon's souls & bloodborne and it was in elden ring. And dat too cuz of parkour lol😂😂 Platforming is kinda bad in dis game i swear.

summit is a fps guy, literally can't go for more than 5 secs without a dopamine hit. It's a very L take, but understandable considering he's a fps degen.

Watching that dude lose to the soldier of godrick was amazing lol
2:07, this guy is willing to play fallout four, a open world RPG, but not willing to play Elden Ring, a open world RPG.
what's kinda amazing for me is, some of those things that made them mald wasnt even that hard. maybe it all comes down to the build and weapon of choice.
i never even play any soulsbourne series before this one. you just gotta grasp the concept of the game.
it is hard at first but as soon as you have access to level up (which is not that far from the starting point), the difficulty of this game is down to a matter of your own choice. because you can completely overpower anything.
first thing you need to do is scaling your own power to the enemies, for example, once you get the horse, try go to that gate, a giant drop down, arrows shooting at you, soldiers swarming, a clusterfuck. you'd most likely die right? then maybe you shouldnt go there, walk away, find enemies you can kill, as it gradually getting harder, stay there until its not that hard anymore, then advance somewhere else. rinse and repeat. as easy as that.
now its your own choice isnt it? lets say you encounter a boss, you died, its hard, but you think its possible so you keep trying. now that's your own choice right? you can walk away, level up some more maybe find better means to fight like upgrading weapon or magics or something, then comeback and beat the boss's ass, or you keep trying.
well.. most streamers would like to go gigachad on anything they encounter just like fighting the tree sentinel and die for 4hours. its alright for content. but remember. that's how they earned their living, they gain something from that pain and agony. but you, as casual gamer, you get none of it but an endless misery. just enjoy the game at your own pace.
Thank you! That's the spirit! I was wondering if new players would be enlightened if this was their first instead of DS1 like me. I'm relieved.
When i first started this game, I also raged a little. But then I told myself "what's the point of getting angry at a videogame? Just get better! Nothing is easy, even in life". Now I'm enjoying the game even more.
I might die 500 times, but I know that each death is a new learning.
This game is the definition of if u get angry u get worse. Staying cool is the only way.

Just like BoTW in the sense that going in blind and not looking much up at all you will still be finding new areas after 100 hours. I'm at 170 hours in Elden Ring and I am positive there are areas I haven't been. BoTW has hero's path mode which lets you see where you've been and it shows there are many many places I have yet to go in that game too. I wish Elden Rind had this

Asmon's playthroughs never fail to make me laugh.
