Rolls of paper, probably headed to a drywall manufacturer. These loads weigh on average of 45 to 48,000 lbs. I don't know how they are normally secured in a dry van, but if they shift, they could absolutely cause a rollover in a curve.
Hauling rolls of paper and that’s the commodity I haul. That size of a roll that the driver was hauling is about the weight of a small size vehicles (each roll) they can’t really be secured from a side to side shift of weight and shift in weight from nose to tail is only secured with a load bar. They are extremely top heavy loads. Those round abouts are not built for travel of semi trucks and trailers and yet they keep putting them up at the entrances of truck stops. The more of those that are being built on the roads these types of accidents involving semis will continually happen and you’ll start seeing it more frequently. Accident was obviously caused by the load shifting and that size that was being transported it would only take movement of one roll.
