I'm guessing its custom battle/multiplayer cost will probably change based on which form you choose for it)

Keep in mind that trade income =/= trade tariffs. Trade tariffs are only a very small fraction of your actual trade income. You can see it in the treasury menu in the trade rider. It's like 15 gold per trade agreement or something like that.
Depends on how much you care about the “too many trade partners” penalties. If you’re trading with every faction you’re friendly with (which is often the only way to get them to SHUT THE HELL UP during the AI turn) more often than not you’re out of trade resources and tariffs are all your getting. When you have ten trade partners 150 extra GPT may not seem like a ton but it is another chaff unit paid for in full.
I know that this is one of the least broken things about this nation, but the fact that they don't even have to worry about micromanaging the harmony in their buildings is just silly

3:21 the run is actually very typical for oriental films. If you ever watch films about the Oriental’s medieval/ancient periods from nations like Japan, Korea, China, Etc. you will often see the fighters run like that when they have their sword drawn out. I am unsure if there is a practical reason for it (maybe having the blade behind prevents you from tripping and hurting yourself or something) but it is very common in the depictions of such settings.
@@foreignfat6009 I didn’t believe it was really practical anyway, I think it’s just because it’s meant to convey killing intent when in a fight. Here is an idea for a Cathay playthrough: China used to vassalize outsiders. Play as one of the other 2 Cathay Lords and vassalize at least one faction of every race and conquer the rest, until the entire world is either ruled by you or your vassals.
The only thing you can do to get an easy confederation is to get Miao Ying into a war with all of Chaos and have her main army get slaughtered in the wastes. Totally not how I confederated all of Cathay as Zhao Ming (before 4.0 of course). It's not really easy, but. . . All you need is to tangle them up in too many wars to handle for an AI. Maybe get close to an enemy settlement, hope that she attacks it and decline the attack yourself in hopes that she will lose or get so weak, that she agrees to it. The best way to confederate your friends is to ruin them.

Btw something I only learned recently (and I have 600h+ into the game by now) For a confederation to even have a remote chance to work your relationship has to be above 150 and the faction you want to confederate can't gain another settlement for 7 turns. If they get ANY settlement in that time, be it through their own conquest or you gifting them one, the timer is reset. Even then it might take some more time or convincing, but this is the minimum requirement that must be met. Also, involving them in wars can make it easier. When I played Yuan Bo and Miao Ying was refusing to confed I just said "fugg it" and asked her to join my war against a Chaos faction. When I put that request in the confed button immediately went green ^^'
"...specializes in two things: diplomacy, and killing things." Should I input the Civ reference, or should I expect people to make the connection on their own?
Ehhh, I'm pretty sure you understood the trade tariff wrong. If you look at your trade deals, you sell them the stuff and you buy their stuff. Looking at my trade deals, the tariffs were roughly the same regardless of how much I was selling to them. So as an example in my current Oxyotl campaign it was roughly 300 regardless of if I sold them 800 worth of stuff or 4000. So I think the tariffs depend on how much you *buy* from them, not how much you sell them. The amount of stuff you import is dependent on how much territory you have (I think). So after a quick calculation I gained a bit over 300 Gold in tariffs per trade partner, I had 12 of them, so I made roughly 4000 per turn in tariffs. I had however a 72% increase, so it was a measly 2300 base tariff income. Meanwhile I was selling them stuff for 12000 per turn while I had 53 settlements. I'm not sure how the imports scale exactly, but that 25% increase would bring in 500 per turn for me. I boldly assume the imports scale the same with size etc. With your 4k in trade, you probably made around 800 in tariffs, meaning this building gives you 200 extra instead of the 1k you said.
I know I'm a bit late to this video, but regarding confederations, there is a hidden part of the acceptance. The faction cannot have gained any settlements in the past 7 turns. Generally, the factors are 150+ relations, no settlements gained in 7 turns, and some amount of difference in power. Also note that being given a settlement through changing of the ways will reset the timer, which has absolutely screwed over confederation attempts for me.
Why not split this up to 2 videos and make them a little bit longer? It almost feels like you do these campaigns a little too fast. I would enjoy a campaign as you did before, with a few episodes before it's over? Anyway, it was a great video!
There are a ton of different reasons for that change. 1. Personally, I would prefer to watch this style of campaign/video 2. Making one of these every two weeks (really ~10 days of work. Currently working with an editor to get back to one video a week) takes way less time and effort than making a multi-part series with the same amount of content. This allows me to do more of the challenges that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I have a list of like 40 that I want to try, and I also want to start branching out into more other games. 3. I'm trying to find different ways to show more of the content that I cut from the main videos to those interested in it. For the moment, I'm working with an editor to make one battle video out of each campaign on my second channel @additionalstupidity 4. I'm able to put more time and effort into the editing and try new things rather than having that aspect feel too formulaic 5. By increasing my average views per video, I'm able to make *a lot* more money from sponsorships. I'm hoping to move across the country soon, but that shit is expensive. EDIT: Depending on how things go, I'm open to a lot of options for the future of my content. It all depends on how things work out with my editors and a few new things that I'm working on in the background.
@@BrilliantStupidity Wow man! Thanks for your long explanation. I hope you had a copy and paste answer, because I would almost feel bad taking so much of your time that it must have taken to give such a good answer. ❤️ I had no idea that the average views per video made such a impact on sponsorship dollars! I think I've heard that views usually drops when doing a series instead of a one off. I was thinking a series would be able to extend an idea from 1 vid to 2-3, just to extend the value of the specific idea. Milk it, so to say. But you sure don't seem to need it if you have more than 40 ideas and a ton of work ahead of you. Thanks for taking your time to answer and for the interesting insight! I'll be around, liking and commenting now and then. Have a good one!
I just cant get myself hyped about numbers being tweaked. Is it cool for those global bonuses? Sure. But modders can add text and upgrades in just fine. With dlc I want new really cool units. Here we got some reskins. Great still a good vid btw
Brilliant would you consider doing a Cathy all melee peasants campaign? Cathian infantry are trash and I kinda wanna see how far you can stretch their abilities.
Only 3 new Cathay units is a massive shame. Like, they need some more war vehicles and more artillery. And a sky-ship that's actually. You know. A *ship* and not a pot suspended by balloons with little flappy wings that...somehow moves and steers with a ship's wheel?
You could try a Vlad and Isabella (plus minor lords or something, just no regular units or monsters) campaign. After awhile it gets pretty good with all the ridiculous regeneration.
While playing as imrik I learned a single trade deal can give you 4k gold if you have enough trade buffs it's rather silly watching people pay me 700 gold to get into a trade deal with 500% tariffs
If you want a Cathay campaign, try women only. Only women lords, heroes and unit models. I tried it with a Realm of Chaos campaign but had to cheat and buy the statue thingies for front line.
What's the point of being the Emperor's Executioner if you can't kill anything and everything that even remotely looks at you funny. It's kinda in the job description.
"Though you've such a tiny body, And your head so large doth grow-- Though your hat may blow away Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo! Though you're such a Hoddy Doddy, Yet I wish that I could modi- fy the words I needs must say! will you please to go away That is all I have to say, Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo! Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo!"
So in the recent 4.2 update, they nerfed his execute ability. You can only use it on an enemy with 25% or less health left, but it instantly kills them.
Btw you are misunderstanding what trade tariffs are, so all of those modifiers aren't nearly as powerful. Tariffs represents the trade income made NOT from a resource. So its that base, typically 80 gold, from trade agreements increased by that percentage. The longer you hold a trade agreement with someone, scaling with number of cities they have it does scale. I've seen it hit about 500g a turn before. It's still impactful, but not nearly as good as you thought.
at this point I'm convinced they are deliberately making DLC factions OP af before launch in order to make people pre-order it, to then nerf them into oblivion or complete unplayability *cough* Taurox, Skyrer me-me, Sniktch cough*
Ah yes, just a casual 25% more winds for 25% less winds per cast. It only practically doubles the amount of spells you can cast. Yes, that hero is incredibly broken.
The orcs running off and only coming back when you have a larger army makes perfect sense for orcs, since it means you're now able to give them a better fight.

Lustria is starting to look like the good ol days of royal rumble
lol, they call it stone when that is 100% supposed to be jade
i love that you regularly use runescape music.
"...specializes in two things: diplomacy, and killing things."
Should I input the Civ reference, or should I expect people to make the connection on their own?
"Diplomacy is war without bloodshed. War is diplomacy with bloodshed."-Mao ZeDong.
good music choice! i like em bones
+1 for divinity OS2 music :D
Nice Fodlan Winds at the beginning😊
I’ve been playing since the first game, and I literally just learned about overcasting from you…
Dude, what the fuck...
I approve of the Fire Emblem music choice.
1. Personally, I would prefer to watch this style of campaign/video
For the moment, I'm working with an editor to make one battle video out of each campaign on my second channel @additionalstupidity
4. I'm able to put more time and effort into the editing and try new things rather than having that aspect feel too formulaic
@@BrilliantStupiditythanks for the explanation!
@@BrilliantStupidity Wow man! Thanks for your long explanation. I hope you had a copy and paste answer, because I would almost feel bad taking so much of your time that it must have taken to give such a good answer. ❤️
I had no idea that the average views per video made such a impact on sponsorship dollars!
I think it would be cool if we got one lord or hero who rides on a jade or jet lion
Yes, finally new episode. I love this series.
Dont take this the wrong way but I prefer your other videos with crazy stacks of unassuming units. Was still a good watch though 😁
Bruh, I was just saying to myself how the game needed a new 'Wind of Death' spell. Seriously though, those are some cool gimmicks.
Yuan Bo with Winds of Blossom: Bankai. Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.
You should do a Channeling campaign, like flip a coin for every decision you make or something...
Also, Mazdadundee is not terrible lol
I just cant get myself hyped about numbers being tweaked. Is it cool for those global bonuses? Sure. But modders can add text and upgrades in just fine. With dlc I want new really cool units. Here we got some reskins. Great
still a good vid btw
Brilliant would you consider doing a Cathy all melee peasants campaign? Cathian infantry are trash and I kinda wanna see how far you can stretch their abilities.
Cathay's armor mask keeps reminding me of sadist mask
ahh another Cathayan dragon for Imirk to... forcibly 'befriend'
Only 3 new Cathay units is a massive shame. Like, they need some more war vehicles and more artillery. And a sky-ship that's actually. You know. A *ship* and not a pot suspended by balloons with little flappy wings that...somehow moves and steers with a ship's wheel?
"It's almost like a naruto run, but not quite" - BrilliantStupidity 2023, talking about Yuan Bo
You could try a Vlad and Isabella (plus minor lords or something, just no regular units or monsters) campaign.
After awhile it gets pretty good with all the ridiculous regeneration.
maybe i just have severe mental damage, but Lord Maz-a-done-di is actually pretty funny
You love to see it when BrilliantStupidity posts
he forgot to instal detection on the core settlements
how dare you call my adorable birdmen ugly!
While playing as imrik I learned a single trade deal can give you 4k gold if you have enough trade buffs it's rather silly watching people pay me 700 gold to get into a trade deal with 500% tariffs
bro sounds like Nile Red and I love it.
I see. Gotrix and Felix doing their job not fucking dieing
Godwich and Felix are now dlc lords
I want constilation of the dragon at 200% intensity. That thing is a nuke
If you want a Cathay campaign, try women only. Only women lords, heroes and unit models.
I tried it with a Realm of Chaos campaign but had to cheat and buy the statue thingies for front line.
"The right to discuss is a privilege"
Press the fast-forward button at end turn, no more map-panning.
This is some primo power creep, how much you wanna bet they barely if at all balance the Executioner ability?
I’m hearing Skyrim… oh god the courier is coming to deliver a message…
What if just, more dinos??? Dinos are cool.
What's the point of being the Emperor's Executioner if you can't kill anything and everything that even remotely looks at you funny. It's kinda in the job description.
i love yuan bo
5:44 the enemy lords name is just bird an*s
We need a war hammer version Lu Bu
“It’s almost like a Naruto run”
- a man who apparently has no idea what a Naruto run is
Confederation is a lot easier when you have 150+ relation, you had a bit below that at the end.
I LOVE YUAN BO
When I hear RuneScape music I thumbs up
"Though you've such a tiny body,
And your head so large doth grow--
Though your hat may blow away
Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo!
Though you're such a Hoddy Doddy,
Yet I wish that I could modi-
fy the words I needs must say!
will you please to go away
That is all I have to say,
Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo!
Mr. Yonghy-Bonghy-Bo!"
wait you mean the new dlc faction is op? couldn't see that coming
So in the recent 4.2 update, they nerfed his execute ability. You can only use it on an enemy with 25% or less health left, but it instantly kills them.
is that sea of thieves music in the background ?
I'm pretty sure Yuan Bo was inspired from Jade Dragon Tryndamere fro LoL the running animation is basically the same.
correction he does not start at the bottom of cathay as shang wu is in central cathay aka the middle not the bottom
true flock of doom, crowman only campaign
Ah yes, just a casual 25% more winds for 25% less winds per cast. It only practically doubles the amount of spells you can cast. Yes, that hero is incredibly broken.
Is... that sea of thieves music?...
Can you make a longer series again please? :c
Man did I have to rewatch the first minute a few times until I realised you were saying DI-rections. 😐
7:25:
Simple, elegant, straight to the point…😂
(P.S., I’m not sure why I find this funny.)
