Pearl Jam - Setting Sun [Acoustic Cover]

My acoustic cover of Setting Sun by Pearl Jam, the perfect end to their amazing new album Dark Matter.
When the album came out, within the first week I covered some of my favourites from the album, but I deliberately left this one out because I wanted to hear it live before I formed opinion on it. I also wanted to get it right.
I absolutely love this song, and the whole album, but I had a feeling that seen this song live would take it to new levels for me and I was not mistaken. I did all European non-festival dates on the dark matter tour this summer and I can safely say that this is one of the most amazing songs I’ve ever ever heard live.
When the album came out, I had a feeling that this song was about Cornell (and possibly others) and i’d still make a case for that. The beauty of art and music though is that you can form your own meanings from wherever you like. This song, depending on where I’m at with my day can mean multitudes of different things to me at different times and all of them unbelievably profound. 
“If you could see what I see now, you’d find a way to stay somehow” to me, is what I feel like screaming to my Dad’s spirit. And hearing Eddie deliver that live multiple times has got me through the summer.

Thank you! Took me a while to fall in love with this song after Dark Matter came out because there is so much quality in the album but when I fell, I fell hard. What a song.

Best song from the new album. Recently i've passed an awful time healing myself from a teeth extraction and this song helped me a lot 😂😂😂. Played this every night before going to bed.

Ah no that sounds horrible! My favourite from the album is Got To Give but I love this song so much. Seeing it live this summer took it to new heights for me. I think it’s possibly in my top 10 Pearl Jam songs all time
