As someone who is wearing glasses due to being near sighted myself, the scene when Suika can see properly for the first time was VERY emotional. Thank you for calling it out.
Ithambar - That moment also serves as a reminder of how fundamentally wrong Tsukasa’s arguments are. For all the wrongs science has done as a result of creating weapons like guns, bombs, etc it is also used to perform incredible acts like giving innocent children the ability to see again when that ability was ripped away from them, either as a result of bad genetics or some other factor. The natural world is already a cruel and unfair one, science allows us to tip the balance in our favour and give ourselves and our children a proper fighting chance.
31:35. Not only that. But I like how over time senku explains how society requires everyone and described every part of society with respect. Even people other smart anime characters call simpletons. He tells magma the strong provide the materials later on. And here he is standing in awe at the precision and dedication of someone who dedicated his life to creating things. A craftsman. And the results of his dedication to his work being vital to society
After experiencing and watching this anime I finally say that understand why chemistry teachers get so excited about all of the reactions that can occur when mixing materials. And to be honest, I do now too lol
So because you, several times, brought up the mangaka behind this series I need to gush on my boy for a bit. Riichiro Inagaki is a mangaka who doesn't have confidence in his artwork, but is an amazing writer and researcher to boot. I first got introduced to him when he teamed up with Yusuke Murata(the one who did the main art redesigns that made One-Punch Man the success it is today) to do an American Football based manga called Eyeshield 21. And what stuck out to me the most is that everything that happened in the manga, while being in the upper limits of possiblity admittedly, was obtainable by a real life person working hard at the high school level. But he took it a step further as well by consulting with an expert on physical science who also had knowledge of football to double check that everything he did was possible within the bodies limitations and within the rules of a game he only knew the basics of. And as far as it seems to me, a major fan of his works, he used alot of that experience with Eyeshield 21 to create Dr. Stone as he once again partnered with an artist(Boichi) and a science consultant(referred to as Kurare in the volumes) to produce this masterful telling of the reemergence of civilization in a new world.
@@AnimeWins Something I noticed about your videos is your observation of voice actors. Fun fact: Dr stone has a lot of voice actors from Re Zero. Senku = Subaru, Old man = Rom, Tsukasa = Reinhardt, Hyoga (stone wars) = Regulus Corneas, Asagiri Gen = Lye battenkaitos.
30:50 As someone with glasses since i was a kid, i have to say this scene hit really close to home. How many times did i have to spend several days without a pair because my old ones broke, going around my days in a blurry environment, forcing on my eyes to not bump into pretty much everything around me and have this sensation of 'yeah, the world truly is beautiful' when i finally get them back or get a new pair and can see things clearly again ? Honestly, i've yet to see someone with glasses that didn't have a reaction to this scene.
I like how Tsukasa is smart in a survivalist way. he knows how to fight, skin animals, hunt, human anatomy, how gunpowder and possibly other inventions useful for fighting are made. He may be against science but how he manages to survive was learned through the process of trail and error that is vital to every scientific endeavor. (Correct me if I’m wrong/missed something. I haven’t watched the anime in a while.)
I dont think Tsukasa is against science, just against Senku's plan to revive everyone. He believes this new world should belong to the young and uncorrupted people. People who will look out for each other and not let politics and selfishness get in their way.
@@bloomhug he's against "weapons of science" which are inevitable in human development. the point of his character is irony, he wants human development to stop completely so the world remains pure whilst himself becoming corrupt and using the results of science to survive
@@Zarastro54 I'd say that's personal bias. Tsukasa was in the martial Arts business and its canon that he gathered people he personally knew go revive. He cant control how they act or think, just how he rules them. And he rules them in a way to hone those skills. However, it's just my theory
I really like how stuff breaks the first try sometimes. It’s extremely important that science is extremely organized structured and carefully observed trial and error each failure brings them closer to success
I love Gen. He threw me for a few loops when he was first introduced but he honestly just keeps growing on me as I see more of his interactions with the other characters
Let me make another point about when Taiju and Yuzuriha are talking in the hot spring. He chooses not to tell her he loves her because of the situation. He doesn't think its right until they're further along with Senku's plan to save the world. If I'm not crazy he isn't telling her because at that point in time hes one of only 3 options. Last man on earth kinda thing, so I assume he doesn't want to confess until he feels like she has somewhere to go if he is rejected, instead of her only agreeing to be with him because shes stuck with him (though we all know she wouldn't do that, but hes dumb lol).
I also really liked that moment when Senku was being shown around Chrome’s shed and having a snicker at the basic science before realizing that Chrome had gathered it all himself and been experimenting for years. I can’t remember the quote word for word but he said something like ‘There is always going to be some idiot out there trying everything’ and mentioned that even if Tsukasa had managed to kill him it wouldn’t have stopped technological advancement since there would always be SOMEONE experimenting somewhere. (Also it was really sweet that Chrome was trying to figure out all those traditional medicine plants by trying them on himself just so he could help Ruri. Who knows how he hasn’t managed to poison himself yet)
something I love about this is the fact that it does have a very accurate depiction of modern society at least in essence everyone has a role to play and everyone has their specialties and they play to their strengths to make some amazing things that's a really what modern society is
_"Gives us the understanding that perhaps not everything he tries his hand at is gonna magically work"_ It sets up the scientific process. You try one thing, and if it doesn't work you make an improvement. Repeat until you have a working solution. To show Senku's devices occasionally failing is actually perfectly in line with his character as a scientist. This particular montage of them trying to make the revival fluid is perfectly timed to happen so early in the show because it easily sets up your expectation that science _is_ a process and it can take time to find solutions. It gives you room for the suspension of disbelief at later moments when they seem to speed right through whatever they're working on.
Although I skip this anime's opening, I just LOVE the "Ohayou Sekai, Good morning World" start, plus its a GREAT verse to match the theme of the anime. And one scene that struck me and made me teary was Suika trying out her "glasses", its been around 2 years since I had the laser surgery in my eyes, I was VERY shortsighted and this really struck me as I struggled with contact lenses and glasses since 4th grade and now my sight is better than the DOCTOR'S during the last test when I removed the "bandages" (after laser surgery, you kinda spend a month with clear contact lenses to protect your eyes as they recover). Also, I believe not even the manga reached the origin of the petrification yet, so have no fear of spoilers in the comments.
As a manga reader, I can definitely say Senku has found the science behind petrification and its origin as well, but not the reason behind it. Although I haven't been reading manga since April but will catch up soon.

I'm not going to lie, when i first watched Dr. Stone i didn't realize that Senku was the main character at first so when he was "killed" and then "brought back" i cried so hard.
It's natural for you to think so. Which is one amazing thing I appreciate, like, have you ever found another story of which prologue is narrated by a supporting character?? "What kinda wild-ass Momotaro is that?!" will remain one of my favorite lines in the first season of this show, I almost passed out laughing at Senku's reaction
Oh my god that scene where the little girl sees property for the first time makes me sob every time. I was literally shedding tears when you showed 4 seconds of it. The music is amazing and captures just how special this moment is. I LITERALLY JUST STARTED CRYING THINKING ABOUT IT!
OMG I've watched this video 2 times and I never bored. I like he's comments and the comedy he brings with each video. Plus any "-ohda" moment in any of his video is awesome.
8:15 it wasnt necessarily the same man that he killed, just and old man that was standing on a beach And im like 95% sure the tsukasa showing up to help them at 15:00 was just a "what could have been if we met before" type deal
love how instead of mentioning the greatness of jojo again you mentioned mob psycho 100s reigen when he used the special move i personaly cant see any spetial move that involves running as anything but joseph going "nigerundayo" and the run itself looks so much like it
23:03 No its not just you at all. I am a chem major at a big10 university. (3 yrs down, 1 to go btw) I absolutely loved this anime due to their details of science. A lot of the antibiotic reactions (and the future reactions for making a lightbulb for the phone too) r extremely accurate and the types of things u learn in an organic chemistry class. Surprised the hell out of me. Not to mention they explained college-level chemistry enough where anyone could make sense out of it, which is honestly just impressive.
Awww, I was expecting you to mention the pulley montage with the ending music in the background. That is one of the hypest moments for me in all of the (current) anime.
in one of the manga chapters tsukasa's right hand man(no more) realized how good senku works with his friends. it was one of the best sences in my opinion
Oh I ten billion percent wanted you to talk about the last couple minutes of the first episode where Senku says he's gonna beat fantasy with science. That got me hooked right away. It's so unique in anime. It's so fun to see people being totally clueless when Senku speaks about mixing this and that because I can't relate to it. I study it so I better know it xD
3 reasons why Senku and Subaru are alike 1 - both are main characters 2 - both are being voiced by the same voice actors 3 - both dies in some point of the story but they both bring back to life
I really love the Concept of the anime and I think it is super interesting too learn which steps been taken to Achieve things that we use in Every day life
It's not just that Tsukasa looks and sounds like a JoJo character. In a world that's geared for science edutainment and therefore wants some level of realism, Tsukasa is basically a JoJo character in this less JoJo-esque world. I mean, when he busts out of the stone and kills a lion with one punch, damaging the tree it flies into - just imagine the Pillar Men Awaken theme playing.
"im going to stop them before they make gunpowder" like bro, they already have nitric acid which means they already have nitro-cellulose which means if the show were more consistent you'd be dead.
28:17 come to think of it, what are those blood bags made of? they established that making plastic would be extremely difficult. if it's animal skin then it would be extremely tough and rigid, so it wouldn't be able to wrap like that.
Not sure but you can make soft and pliable animal leather e.g. Chamois the very soft leather made from mountain goats. Especially if it’s a relatively think skinned animal like a squirrel or rabbit and you work it and treat it a lot, it comes out very soft. Otherwise it could be a paper-like bag or small basket that’s been made waterproof with lacquer or mud. It could still be quite stiff as long as it was pierce-able
One of the many reasons I love this anime is the fact that no matter how many times I watch it it always astounds me how much time, effort, and research went into all the wonderful things we have today.
Two scenes i will ALLWAYS love. The first one is the "revival" of Senku and the second one is the one with the first light bulb. So music is addings so fucking mutch to these......and i had a few tears in both of them. Or the talk Senku had with Chrome about the "Future/Past". So good....the fckn feels overwhelming you....
When I first watched this ,(watched he dub first) I immediately noticed that four characters are from MHA Senku-Tamaki Amajiki Ginro-Deku(ma boi and in sub) Kinro-Tokayami Taiju-Miro Senku and taiju best friends Mirio and Tamaki best friends
Haven’t finished yet, but I hope you noticed that when they were showing the worldwide scope of what happened the people begin speaking their actual languages
i love science so much, so i knew i was going to watch this anime eventually. but man i just started today and i love it so much. not only was it fun to try and guess what invention senku was trying to make, but it was really fun to hear the explanations for the next steps in the human progress. i got too excited when i could sense he was gonna make penicillin lmao (i flexed on my sister that i got it right lol) i also just love how it made me appreciate all of the technology we had now. this really hit me during the light bulb scene. the primitive people may have been scared of the dark, but in our age we have already conquered the darkness to the point that modern society as a whole doesn't consider it a problem. seeing senku built this from scratch, it really makes you understand that we have come very far. it makes me a little more grateful I was born in the modern age and not in the primitive world
I love this anime because I'm a scientist and it makes science look cool and is generally accurate (it's so nice to see a TV programme actually get science right). I love this anime because of its unusual folky music. It uses uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) a lot as a main instrument. This is very obscure for most media beyond films like titanic or braveheart ironically. As an uilleann piper myself, it really makes me happy to hear it in used in the contemporary folk style ost.
An absolute brilliant video, I loved it a whole lot😀😀😀 And on a side note, I was actually surprised that you've watched Haikyuu!!(it has nothing to do with the video, but I guess I just enjoyed that anime and of course Dr. Stone more than I initially thought:))))
5:24 I really liked this part lol the music was great and like you said I don't think I've ever seen an anime do a fast forward thing like that. It's a shame they only did it that one time and haven't done it since.
Though, Tsukasa is not really the most intelligent either. Technology progression is guaranteed to happen no matter what. So he has a unrealistic goal of getting rid of science
Suika (Mellow girl) is my favorite character, what they don't show you in the anime is how she actually gets in the mellow, she does the old hugging knees and bring them to your chest motion and also, what she has done in one of the more recent arcs (possibly being adapted for season 3 or season 2 part 2) will make you love her even more. One of the best and most popular characters in the series. Also, not a surprise that she is part of the main cast.
I hope you are all doing well, thanks so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video!

OMG I've watched this video 2 times and I never bored. I like he's comments and the comedy he brings with each video. Plus any "-ohda" moment in any of his video is awesome.
0:03 Damn we lost a pillarman.... R.I.P ESIDISI!
Being a man of science myself, this is one of my favorite anime
8:15 it wasnt necessarily the same man that he killed, just and old man that was standing on a beach
And im like 95% sure the tsukasa showing up to help them at 15:00 was just a "what could have been if we met before" type deal
I have 10 billion percent been waiting for this video
love how instead of mentioning the greatness of jojo again you mentioned mob psycho 100s reigen when he used the special move
i personaly cant see any spetial move that involves running as anything but joseph going "nigerundayo" and the run itself looks so much like it
The fast forward montage is awesome and amazing because it requires a lot more frames than normal animation for a shorter scene. It's very impressive.
I love this anime and I love your channel!
A fun fact about the ED, it’s supposed to be message from Senku to Byakuya!
By far my favorite manga and anime to date. I'm surprised by how much I love this series.
How exhilarating, waited around 3700 years for this video but it's finally here and you win 10 billion points (with hopefully as many likes, somehow)
My favorite line is something like, I'm going to survive this, even if it kills me!
So glad you covered this anime 💃
in one of the manga chapters tsukasa's right hand man(no more) realized how good senku works with his friends. it was one of the best sences in my opinion
I feel like Dr Stone teaches you more science that high school
Oh I ten billion percent wanted you to talk about the last couple minutes of the first episode where Senku says he's gonna beat fantasy with science. That got me hooked right away. It's so unique in anime.
It's so fun to see people being totally clueless when Senku speaks about mixing this and that because I can't relate to it. I study it so I better know it xD
3 reasons why Senku and Subaru are alike
1 - both are main characters
2 - both are being voiced by the same voice actors
3 - both dies in some point of the story but they both bring back to life
Finally!!! I have been waiting for this day :)
Now we can all look forward to the extremely rare double win Gen’s rap is going to get in part two
20:57 Ah The Joestar Secret Technique, Adapted to the stone age.
I love this anime and I'm so happy to see you breaking it down like this. ^w^
I wanna see one of these for GLEIPNIR one day. Good luck editing THAT one.
*This... This does put a smile on my face.*
Yesss! I was waiting for this, thank you! Love your videos!
*15:12*
Akame ga kill: *sweats nervously*
One of the many reasons I love this anime is the fact that no matter how many times I watch it it always astounds me how much time, effort, and research went into all the wonderful things we have today.
Two scenes i will ALLWAYS love. The first one is the "revival" of Senku and the second one is the one with the first light bulb. So music is addings so fucking mutch to these......and i had a few tears in both of them. Or the talk Senku had with Chrome about the "Future/Past". So good....the fckn feels overwhelming you....
When I first watched this ,(watched he dub first) I immediately noticed that four characters are from MHA
Senku-Tamaki Amajiki
Ginro-Deku(ma boi and in sub)
Kinro-Tokayami
Taiju-Miro
Senku and taiju best friends
Mirio and Tamaki best friends
I've finished this series all ready but great to see you enjoy it
This man really did a anime wins video on the first half of dr stone season 1 and didn't even mention the campfire scene about reclaiming the world
I like how sometimes they just laugh with no dialog
Haven’t finished yet, but I hope you noticed that when they were showing the worldwide scope of what happened the people begin speaking their actual languages
I accually was in kamakura and even went inside the great Buddha Statue so that moment had me JUMPING!
i love science so much, so i knew i was going to watch this anime eventually. but man i just started today and i love it so much. not only was it fun to try and guess what invention senku was trying to make, but it was really fun to hear the explanations for the next steps in the human progress. i got too excited when i could sense he was gonna make penicillin lmao (i flexed on my sister that i got it right lol)
i also just love how it made me appreciate all of the technology we had now. this really hit me during the light bulb scene. the primitive people may have been scared of the dark, but in our age we have already conquered the darkness to the point that modern society as a whole doesn't consider it a problem. seeing senku built this from scratch, it really makes you understand that we have come very far. it makes me a little more grateful I was born in the modern age and not in the primitive world
I literally watched Re:zero & Dr.Stone back to back how did I not notice that the protagonists have the same voice actor!?!?!?!?!?!?
I love this anime because I'm a scientist and it makes science look cool and is generally accurate (it's so nice to see a TV programme actually get science right). I love this anime because of its unusual folky music. It uses uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) a lot as a main instrument. This is very obscure for most media beyond films like titanic or braveheart ironically. As an uilleann piper myself, it really makes me happy to hear it in used in the contemporary folk style ost.
About time im glad 0w0 thanks for making this
how did he not count this line as a win:
I'll survive this, EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!!
An absolute brilliant video, I loved it a whole lot😀😀😀
And on a side note, I was actually surprised that you've watched Haikyuu!!(it has nothing to do with the video, but I guess I just enjoyed that anime and of course Dr. Stone more than I initially thought:))))
5:24 I really liked this part lol the music was great and like you said I don't think I've ever seen an anime do a fast forward thing like that. It's a shame they only did it that one time and haven't done it since.
Is that really the only instance of it? I could swear it happens again later on..
@@caistigh2062 I'm pretty sure that's the only time. I mean they do time skips but not a fast forward thing like this
Though, Tsukasa is not really the most intelligent either. Technology progression is guaranteed to happen no matter what. So he has a unrealistic goal of getting rid of science
I love the scene where senku wins the tournament then agrees to the marriage and then instantly devorce her their faces are worth more than gold
You got us in the first half, not gonna lie
I was 10 billion percent sure this was going to be a good video.
As someone who only reads the manga,im fascinated.good job!
21:01 Or just... you know "NIGERUNDAYO!"
