Well, in a simplified form, (which Senku is trying to teach novices) it’s a perfect way to describe penicillin. Where there’s just random ordinary mould, and a rare, super fantastic mould that kills bacteria. Getting more detailed than that would just confuse those who haven’t studied medicine for decades, including simple tribal villagers. (As well as us)

Another thing I like about Dr Stone is that he also fails at times. Just like in real life, it doesn't always go as planned, and sometimes those experiments literally explodes in his face. But then he improves on his ideas until it makes what he was planning. And it makes it more fun to watch.

There's quite a mix of science and engineering in Dr. Stone that in order for the common folks to understand this show, every kind of scientists and engineers must sit and review the episodes together. In the manga as of today, there's not much medical science in the story after the sulfa drug.

When someone works extremely hard at something to the point where they are changing the entire nature of their knowledge and mind-set (i.e: breaking their limits, just like Saitama) it overheats the brain and this is compensated by a loss of hair to help cool the head.

I want to note, you mentioned how you can learn something about branding from the show, but the entire opening is actually a really good way of showing foreshadowing. The entire opening theme has very minor points of foreshadowing thrown in, as a lot of shows do. The first one maybe not quite as much as the second one does, but it explains the plot quite a bit, things like senku being alone for a very long time before taiju is awakened, hence the walking alone in the woods, then we have the foreshadowing of the villain, then we have the other characters being introduced and the foreshadowing of the tournament, and more.

Knowing what we know now about medical experiments and how often "discoveries" end up completely useless, it's kind of amazing that Alexander Fleming got lucky enough to find this mold, notice it killed bacteria, and was lucky that it ONLY killed bacteria and didn't turn out to be poisonous to humans. That and purifying it into drug form must've been challenging.
It really shows you why it took us so long to figure out antibiotics

and has to deal with the moral issue of trying not to cause a butterfly effect.

the anime is based on manga which is still ongoing.
and manga is far ahead of anime. right now its around at chapter 177 but the season 1 is around 60 and season 2 will be upto 80 chapters. you can read manga too. its japenese comic and also a new chapter is released every week.
i am half way through reading manga but i can say in future crazy things will happen basically it gets better and better.
