Remember that Senku was adopted. I think there more to his origins that just his awesome adoptive father stepping in for a boy in need. Perhaps the Senku we see is a result of some genius development project and, maybe, not the only one created this way. This would explain why his father had so much confidence in a child being the one that breaks out of the petrification and save mankind...
Honestly the whole special bloodline/destiny thing has been overused, sure the characters don't give too shits on who they are related to *S P O I L E R S* but with Naruto being a reincarnation and his dad being Minato, and Luffy having Garp as his grandpa and Dragon being his dad, it always feels like that every protag had an advantage from the very beginning that they didn't know about...and life over here isn't like that, no one has a destiny and having a fancy bloodline means jack squat...Senku shouldn't be ultra special either if this world is supposed to be like ours. He's hungry for knowledge and unique for sure, not a godddamned alien or some shit.

They did that Like a hundred chapters ago. Like during the Village Arc. Everyone was happy as things started getting mechanize and senku just said that their efforts would just be used on The things they can't mechanize yet.

That ending revelation of the voice really surprised me, I would have guessed the voice was going to be Rei. I mean, it still could be, but the fact that it's Senku's voice, or a close imitation, makes it not seem like it. Though maybe this voice is not the same being as the Whyman.

Really happy to see you doing this because it seems like no one is talking about this how amazing this series is. This has to be one of the greatest "prologue" because now we get into the main story.
The Why-Man's willingness to pertify the whole earth can mean a few things: 1. Why-Man has a device to counter the petrification device 2. Why-Man is not a biological being (could be an AI) and therefore immune to petrification. 3. Why-Man is outside earth possibly an orbiting satelite (will also explain how Why-Man is able to monitor earth and know what senku is up to, if the device has no tracker) If the device has a tracker, it will become easier for Senku to locate Why-Man. Why-Man can be also be an AI with access to the satelites.

My theory about Rei being the Whyman was that she crash landed, and eventually caught Senku and the gangs initial radar pulse and was wondering why it took so long, and that the visuals we initially saw were just from the fear the others had that "Something" was sending out morse code in such a repetative manner

You know what's really scary about all of this? Do you remember all the broken statues that are at the bottom of the ocean around the island from previous uses of The Medusa? That’s how it went for me back in Naruto in high school 2008-2010, that was a damn glorious time going to the library at lunch, reading Naruto on Wednesday’s with my best friend reading the same chapter on the computer besides me.
Every time when they showed this mysterious skeleton with the morse code I always got chills ,BUT when they said that that was Senkus's voice AND with that weird stone like Senku panel, I just froze on the spot.Like if you did too.
I just finished read the Dr. Stone side story manga. I think the robot Rei could be the "Why man". Particularly because it is the only "living(?)" thing in space, and it is also a super computer, capable of even "rebirthing" itself. Well, for the "why" part I only can think of a feeling of betrayal? From the story, the robot has been waiting in the ISS for Byakuya to return. The robot has no sense of general knowledge so it doesn't know that Byakuya died long ago and will not return to the ISS. So it probably gained information on the fact Byakuya died and probably feels betrayed or something. Thus resulting in the "whys". As for why it has Senku's voice, from the last chapter of the side story the robot shows that it has memory of Senku talking with Byakuya, so it probably replicated the voice from there. But that was when Senku was quite young so I can't be sure. Other than that, my other theory is that it could be that organism in the comet that the robot brought back.
Spoiler : the why man is actually kars, who's taking revenge on humanity because of what happened after joseph shoots the guy in space. Thank me later.
I think i figure it out. The medusa is a device activated by a specific voice code. Senku doesn't have to experiment the length of the device's range because he is saying it 5 meters in one second and the device activates by that command and expands 5 meters and turns anyone into stone that is at that proximity (He needs to figure out though how far can that device perceive the command). Now the other "evil Senku" began to repeat the diameter of the entire earth 12,800.000 one sec which means if the medusa would had been close to recognize the command it would had activated and petrified the entire earth again like at the beginning of the manga. So "evil Senku" was hoping that someone would have the medusa near the radio that's why he was on a loop with the diameter of earth.
I love Dr. Stone too, but I honestly can't stand the anime. Boichi does such an amazing job with the manga, it's literally a work of art, and the anime just doesn't do it justice. Lots of un-necessary censorship as well as very important and emotional scenes changed or just poorly animated for no reason other than budget. For One Piece i get it (sometimes), but for me one of Dr. Stone's main appeals is it's amazing art
I'm pretty sure, that the 'why man' AI is able to listen in on the radio transmission from senku and that is where he got his voice, but is also gathering information such as the fact that sense is saying distances and time multiple times into radio transmission. That would explain how the AI started broadcasting once senku had the Petrification device, that makes way more sense than GPS as that requires Satellites and those require maintenance and have a fixed life span, and i doubt Rei has been maintain all of those too. But I think Senku has already figured out if not guessed that it's an AI and that is why he wasn't scared when he heard the pertrification order over the radio. Thus a big part of the next arc will be about how senku will locate this AI and will try to make contact, but in the progress connects with Rei and either shifts objectives or incorporates Rei into the plans. Would make a lot of sense as that would be a good tie in point for Rei and with the story and world building behind 'her', its hard to see that being used on a temporary or non main character.
Super cool video Tekking but I wanted to mention was that since the why-man tried to use the science kingdom's petrification weapon to re-petrify the earth, that might be the only one there is. Because if the why-man really is an A.I. why wouldn't he have more than one of them? Or why would he have given away the only one he had instead of using it himself to re-petrify senku and the gang/the possible super genius on the island that re instated science?, since the A.I. wouldn't be human there wouldn't be a reason for it to not use the petrification weapon near itself since it was already proven to only work on humans and sparrows, unless it works with something else we don't know about yet, who knows. I hope to see more Dr. Stone videos in the future.

I think the why man realized that senku has the device when he tried to use the speakers against ibara. It is possible that he could use senku's voice with the instructions for the device because senku already did it once.
There are two inconsistencies about the medusa (assuming that the initial trigger of the device used the same methods as the current one, i.e. the earth's diameter with a one second delay). Seeing as it generates as sphere with itself as the epicenter, if it did use the Earth's diameter as it's range, it shouldn't have affected people on the other side of the world, but rather, roughly 2/5th's of the world (I don't feel like doing non-euclidean geometry). If it did originate from South America, in order for the sphere's size to encompass the entire world, it would need to have nearly double the diameter. Either Why-Man is ignorant of this fact, is actually attempting something else, or the device has some other properties...because there's another problem. Let's say the initial trigger of the device was correctly calculated to have a large enough sphere of effect to petrify the entire planet. Unless we discover that there are some materials that block it, the green light seems to pass though any form of solid matter. Factor in that the ISS doesn't fly over Russia (and even it would in the future, it would need to take a wildly different path to get where it was in the side story) when the medusa first triggered in South America, they would have been caught in the sphere... unless the medusa light cannot breach the atmosphere.
Senku is the only one who can be Senku's antagonist.

But rei is a robot that senkus father made and was in the doctor stone side story, she was the last one onboard the iss , it's a cool and sad story about misunderstanding and loneliness and desperation to endure and wait for her creator. I dont wanna spoil the whole things it's only like a dozen chapters, please go read it, her and kohaku are best girls of doctor stone.

That’s how it went for me back in Naruto in high school 2008-2010, that was a damn glorious time going to the library at lunch, reading Naruto on Wednesday’s with my best friend reading the same chapter on the computer besides me.
Every time when they showed this mysterious skeleton with the morse code I always got chills ,BUT when they said that that was Senkus's voice AND with that weird stone like Senku panel, I just froze on the spot.Like if you did too.

I just finished read the Dr. Stone side story manga. I think the robot Rei could be the "Why man". Particularly because it is the only "living(?)" thing in space, and it is also a super computer, capable of even "rebirthing" itself.
Well, for the "why" part I only can think of a feeling of betrayal? From the story, the robot has been waiting in the ISS for Byakuya to return. The robot has no sense of general knowledge so it doesn't know that Byakuya died long ago and will not return to the ISS. So it probably gained information on the fact Byakuya died and probably feels betrayed or something. Thus resulting in the "whys".
As for why it has Senku's voice, from the last chapter of the side story the robot shows that it has memory of Senku talking with Byakuya, so it probably replicated the voice from there. But that was when Senku was quite young so I can't be sure.
Other than that, my other theory is that it could be that organism in the comet that the robot brought back.
It's not the final arc, they confirmed recently they are nowhere near the endgame of dr stone.

I think i figure it out. The medusa is a device activated by a specific voice code. Senku doesn't have to experiment the length of the device's range because he is saying it 5 meters in one second and the device activates by that command and expands 5 meters and turns anyone into stone that is at that proximity (He needs to figure out though how far can that device perceive the command). Now the other "evil Senku" began to repeat the diameter of the entire earth 12,800.000 one sec which means if the medusa would had been close to recognize the command it would had activated and petrified the entire earth again like at the beginning of the manga. So "evil Senku" was hoping that someone would have the medusa near the radio that's why he was on a loop with the diameter of earth.

I love Dr. Stone too, but I honestly can't stand the anime. Boichi does such an amazing job with the manga, it's literally a work of art, and the anime just doesn't do it justice. Lots of un-necessary censorship as well as very important and emotional scenes changed or just poorly animated for no reason other than budget. For One Piece i get it (sometimes), but for me one of Dr. Stone's main appeals is it's amazing art
I'm pretty sure, that the 'why man' AI is able to listen in on the radio transmission from senku and that is where he got his voice, but is also gathering information such as the fact that sense is saying distances and time multiple times into radio transmission. That would explain how the AI started broadcasting once senku had the Petrification device, that makes way more sense than GPS as that requires Satellites and those require maintenance and have a fixed life span, and i doubt Rei has been maintain all of those too.
But I think Senku has already figured out if not guessed that it's an AI and that is why he wasn't scared when he heard the pertrification order over the radio. Thus a big part of the next arc will be about how senku will locate this AI and will try to make contact, but in the progress connects with Rei and either shifts objectives or incorporates Rei into the plans. Would make a lot of sense as that would be a good tie in point for Rei and with the story and world building behind 'her', its hard to see that being used on a temporary or non main character.
If Ukyo wasn't a peace loving dude, Dr. Stone would would look very different....

Super cool video Tekking but I wanted to mention was that since the why-man tried to use the science kingdom's petrification weapon to re-petrify the earth, that might be the only one there is. Because if the why-man really is an A.I. why wouldn't he have more than one of them? Or why would he have given away the only one he had instead of using it himself to re-petrify senku and the gang/the possible super genius on the island that re instated science?, since the A.I. wouldn't be human there wouldn't be a reason for it to not use the petrification weapon near itself since it was already proven to only work on humans and sparrows, unless it works with something else we don't know about yet, who knows. I hope to see more Dr. Stone videos in the future.

typing this before watching the video, my theory is related to the byakuya reboot they did, maybe it's the robot trying to send a message to senku? but that wouldn't make sense because with where that left off it seems like they'd be able to respond with radio waves of own voice

It is possible that he could use senku's voice with the instructions for the device because senku already did it once.

There are two inconsistencies about the medusa (assuming that the initial trigger of the device used the same methods as the current one, i.e. the earth's diameter with a one second delay).
Seeing as it generates as sphere with itself as the epicenter, if it did use the Earth's diameter as it's range, it shouldn't have affected people on the other side of the world, but rather, roughly 2/5th's of the world (I don't feel like doing non-euclidean geometry). If it did originate from South America, in order for the sphere's size to encompass the entire world, it would need to have nearly double the diameter.
Either Why-Man is ignorant of this fact, is actually attempting something else, or the device has some other properties...because there's another problem.
Let's say the initial trigger of the device was correctly calculated to have a large enough sphere of effect to petrify the entire planet. Unless we discover that there are some materials that block it, the green light seems to pass though any form of solid matter.
Factor in that the ISS doesn't fly over Russia (and even it would in the future, it would need to take a wildly different path to get where it was in the side story) when the medusa first triggered in South America, they would have been caught in the sphere... unless the medusa light cannot breach the atmosphere.
