This is so wonderful! Thank you!!! I have been listening to the Pediatric Speech Pals since I discovered the field of SLP. I am currently a senior undergraduate student, and although my career switch has come right before graduation, content like this fills me with the hope that the field of SLP is the perfect fit for me 🥰 Thank you again!!! P.S. - I think it'd be awesome to see a vlog (or even a podcast episode) on how you balance working while in school! 😊
Aww this is great to hear!!! Thank you!! And we actually have a longer vlog of Haley doing work and school life balance in the works right now! Coming soon💕
Omg!! I just found the channel a couple days ago and I’ve been watching. Anyways, I go to USAHS too! This is my second tri, Austin campus. :) what tri are you in?
Hey! I had a question about your program! Does it fulfill all the requirements for a CA SLP license? I'm interested in doing an online hybrid program but I live in CA and I'm so confused if I'll have to do extra things on the side after finishing a program for a school in another state. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank you for your help!
Oh you can go to any school, preferably one that is ASHA accredited and then after the program you take the Praxis exam in the state you want to be licensed! There really isn’t any other extra things you need!
Here is a link to another slp’s blog post explaining the process! You can also check ASHA’s website for more info😊 www.thetravelingtraveler.com/how-to-become-a-travel-slp/
Where did you get your scrubs? Very cute!
Do you recommend this university? I’m between this university and Texas Woman’s university

@Pediatric Speech Pals Oh that's wonderful!!! I can't wait to watch!
Loved to see what a day in the life is for a slp grad student! It would be interesting to see when your doing it online and balancing that with work
We totally agree! We’ll do that next 😊
Do you have any suggestions for an online program for your undergrad to become an SLPA? Primarily an associates.

That simulation cadaver lab is cool! We went to the cadaver lab on Austin campus and they had many real brains! And a whole cadaver body!!!

Grad school intimidates me 😭
It can be intimidating! But it really isn't too bad. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you get in the groove of things!

@Pediatric Speech Pals thank you so much for your response. You guys have been so helpful 🤗 really appreciate it!
There are some programs in California that are accredited by ASHA and are online!
What if you want to be a travel SLP, how does that work?
