Hello! I think I can speak on behalf of the lower-than-average GPA. I got into SLP extended grad school (3 years program--1 year of pre-requisit, instead of 2 years program) with 3.1 GPA. For those of you who are applying and did not have pre-requisit, please look into extended master program for your college of choice. Also, try to shadow lots of SLP and showcase that on your personal statement, I shadowed 4-5 SLPs in different fields (pediatric, adult, swallowing, and feeding) and it made such a huge impact on my application! Wish you guys the best, hope you guys are not discouraged. Goodluck to our future SLP grad students!
Definitely helpful, I had a 3.8 and after this semester it went down to a 3.6. It can be disappointing and discouraging to see your GPA slowly fall. Thanks for the honest advice!
I got a B+ in hearing science, B in introduction to audiology, and a B in Speech Science (this class was soooo tough). My GPA dropped to a 3.6 and I am hoping to bring it back up to a 3.9.
Hey there I just wanted to mention to anyone thinking about repeating classes for better grades- CSDCAS does not honor repeat grades replacing the past grade in their GPA calculation. Just want to save people from unnecessary disappointment. However, if they are SPHSC or pre reqs and you received a poor grade- it may be worth repeating- just know that CSDCAS calculates ALL ATTEMPTS in their cumulative GPA.
Do you have a video on online mode grad school vs. In person? If not can you make one covering Differences in Cost, cohort size, flexibility, clinical , work load etc?
Hi! We have this video where we detail some differences along with us talking about our experiences randomly in other videos. If you have more questions feel free to reach out again!! th-cam.com/video/PyRJU15DIbs/w-d-xo.html
Hey guys! Is it possible to work a full time while in grad school? I’m applying for the post-bacc program next year, and it’s full time!😅 Again, is it possible to work?
Hi Haley here! I am currently in grad school and I work! It is definitely possible! It’s a lot of work but if you’re good with time management you should be able to do it! Check out some of our other videos where I talk about how I balance both.
Hi, do you guys know any grants or scholarships for graduate school? I cannot find anything. I’m a third year so it’s not too close from now but not far either
Hi!! We mention scholarships, grants, and financial aid in this episode! Hope this helps answer some of your questions!! th-cam.com/video/E7ozGpMdNII/w-d-xo.html
