If you've watched Masters of the Air, did you have the same nagging feeling we did? That throughout the whole show there was just one specific group of people that were misrepresented, downplayed, made out to all be the bad guys, and received nowhere near enough credit for their actions.. Yes, that's right, we're talking about the Luftwaffe. Wait... you didn't think we meant the RAF did you?
I love how the Luftwaffe was having meeting before the battle of Britain and Goering believed they had more bombers than they had because he, the head of the Luftwaffe had believed their own propaganda, and he never bothered ro actually check the numbers.
The show was good but it annoyed me how the RAF had basically no representation, and the ending felt a lot like “the Americans save the world look how good we are!” But the show was still great

The beginning reminds me of people I went to High School. Our Social Studies teacher put up an outline of the US with the State boundaries. He went to each student, "Find me Texas" "Find me New Mexico" and then to fill in the blanks with what they thought a State was. So there's now an East Dakota where Minnesota is. Wyoming doesn't exist. New Hampshire is now Massachusetts. Probably for the best.

The tune however is a common one from Western Europe and the British isles, that most likely has been sung in one form or another over the centuries.

I was deeply saddened to see the young and old, depressed Germans in the finale waking to their doom when the prisoners of war were passing by because these German fellows were forced into this war that they didn’t want to be apart of and the fact that they don’t even believe in the man that they thought was greatest meant that the Germans were at an all time low
