Ted Lasso is a TV show and this is CinemaWins, a match made in heaven. Apple TV just finished it's run for this show and I think it was… aight. Darts, you know? So come along on a journey with me where I explore that and obviously talk about all the great things that happen in the show. Here's everything right with...wait no...Ted Lasso! It's Ted Lasso. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
I really love how Rebecca and Keeley's friendship is depicted as genuine, and not toxic or passive aggressive. You can tell that they genuinely like and feel comfortable with each other.
Absolutely - it's one of the most genuine depictions of female friendship I've ever seen in fiction.
same here, they always had each other's back and could be completely honest with each other with no judgement.
There’s is my favourite friendship on screen since Sam and Frodo.
Daria and Jane finally have company on the pedestal of perfect female duos ^_^
Keeley being set up to be the 'bitchy WAG model' stereotype only to be revealed as one of the most emotionally competent and intelligent people on the show is probably one of my favourite moments from the series.
It doesn't even take that long - one or two episodes into the series? Her chat with Ted while at a modelling gig was such a delight.
"I learned to love my dad for who he was and forgive him for who he wasn't" has stayed in my heart ever since that episode Higgins said it.
Higgins is the secret MVP of this show
Higgins has the most solid personal life and his world view is so good.
The scene where Roy finally hugs Jamie after punching his dad, @12:30, is one of the best scenes ever. Just an amazingly written and performed episode, and the silence and acting says it all.
Definitely, it was the most emotional part of the show in my opinion
Roy sings along to the words of EVERY song played diagetically in a scene he's in, not just Let It Go. It's a great little easter-egg that shows us so much of his character.
This show saved my life. No elaboration, but no exaggeration, either. I was hours away from unaliving myself and decided to watch what i thought would be some throwaway tv fluff to pass the time until i could put my plan into action.
I ended up watching it all, being therapised by the excellent writing along the way & it completely changed my outlook on my entire life.
Thanks for saving my life, Jason Sudeikis. I owe you, big time, dude.
I feel you. I’ve been in a bad spot for years, but sitting down to watch this show gave me not only something to look forward to, but a highlight of my day. The show embodies so much emotions that made me connect with it to where I felt like I was also ted lasso, a person who is loving, caring, does his best to be thoughtful but is very sad and hurt by his grief, which is very “me” making it an unforgettable relatable experience. Though this is a long comment I’m glad you enjoyed the show, and stayed around to write this comment, I’d rather have you talk about this than not be able to.
❤❤❤
Also! I cannot believe you didn't talk about Jamie's incredible arc and how well-written and acted Jamie is. Season One Jamie is completely different from Season Three Jamie
I enjoyed the moments when they showed how smart Jamie actually is.
exactly! and it was made very clear that Jamie actively tried to change for the better, to be better, it didn't just kinda happen out of nowhere.
Yeah I’d watch a multi part EGA series about Ted Lasso just so all the greatness can be included
If you tell me you didn’t feel the character progression between Episode 5’s “Jaaaamieeee Tartt do do do do do do” and his egotism to you crying in the penultimate episode where the poor guy screams “WHERE ARE ME FUCKING WINGS ROY”
Jamie and Nate are examples of truly great redemption arcs. Zuko is a good character, but his redemption has nothing on those two, because ATLA never made me hate him.
One aspect I really adore about this series is the message that people will remember you for your kindness, empathy and compassion, no matter how small or inconsequential it may appear. A little random act of kindness goes a long way.
This. I’ve genuinely made an effort as a result of this show to follow this ethos. A small act of kindness is little effort and yet it can mean a lot even if you’re not aware of it at the time.
Although everyone speaks about Roy and Jamies arc, seeing Jamie stand up to his dad out of aggression and instantly reverting back to shock and the fear he felt as a child and Roys recognition of the role he plays in Jamie’s life and knowing exactly what to do to comfort him in the moment while the rest of the team stands frozen is amazing writing and acting
I used the “ being alone and being sad” line during my speech at my dad’s funeral. It’s so powerful and means the most to me
Anybody saying this show is too feel good has never experienced a panic attack. That scene broke me. Such a realistic portrayal. No trigger, it just happened to him.
I’ve never felt so seen by a show. And it hurt like hell.
+ he didn't magically get over it once he opened up about his father's suicide, Ted got better but always had to work on it.
I was so impressed by how they presented Ted's mental health. I cried at how well they portrayed his panic attacks. I only ever experienced one myself, and it wasn't from personal anxiety but from a bad reaction to laughing gas at the dentist, but what an awful experience. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Hard agree on Ted's panic attacks. I still remember two jobs ago when I was trying to prevent it coming and I instinctually hid my hands. Unfortunately, one coworker refused to speak to me for reasons and the other one outright said I wasn't about to have a panic attack when I asked for her help. Not even two minutes later, I was struggling to catch my breath on the floor. Fortunately, my sister was getting ready to leave (she worked in a different department) and helped calm me down. When I saw Ted have his panic attacks, it felt like he was going through the same issue
Yeah, panic attacks are the worst....they just creep up on you.
And especially with the first one, you don't know how to react and you genuinely think you gonna have to die....it's the worst feeling.
There’s a scene in which Ted addresses his ex wife about her new relationship. Jason Sudekis took some stick for that, the criticism being that it validated his behaviours off-screen in his divorce. But that’s why I loved it. That was such an honest depiction of the emotional weight, panic, anger, everything that a divorce with children can have on someone - even the most optimistic of people. In all of the fantasy of Ted Lasso - and of course it’s fantasy - there’s some genuine moments of realism that many other shows would shy away from.
I love when the players all take out pieces of the BELIEVE poster. And I love the little touches about where people store them: Isaac under his Captain’s brassard; Jaime _in a book_ -Colin behind his shin guard. So well thought out.
Not just *a* book, but the copy of The Beautiful and the Damned that Ted gave him at the very beginning that Jamie tossed but clearly took out of the garbage because by the time we see it again in season 3 it’s very clearly well loved and well read.
Let's not forget that at the end of S3 Nate fixes the BELIEVE sign with gold glue, Kintsugi , or Kintsukuroi. Such a beautiful detail. People may call this show cringey but I loved it.
Honestly I could not agree more. Ted Lasso is one of the greatest shows I’ve watched in a while. It is perfect, each episode was the perfect length, the right amount of comedy and heartfelt moments.
It was the first show in a while that had me upset when it ended.
I shall miss watch Ted Lasso ❤️🙏🏾
It’s gonna get another season, right?
I think one of my favorite moments was the christmas episode, when most of the team ended up at the home of the secretary and they had to extend the table to house all of them.
@@yugiboy578 I wish, but the season 3 finale seemed like the show finale. The story was complete.
@@yugiboy578There are no plans for another season. It was written as a 3 season arc.
That doesn't mean there can't be a spin-off.
1) Ted coaching an American team.
2) Rebecca and a female league.
3) Roy and/or Nate coaching.
Lots of possibilities.
Do Meg 2 please🙏🥺
Ted Lasso is the show that brought my father and I closer together after the death of my mother. For years, we both felt the loss of her, but thanks to Jason Sudeikis’ incredible comedy and emotional story telling, it helped bring a smile back to my dads face. Recently I moved away from the UK to San Diego to be with my wife and the finale of Ted Lasso helped make the farewell between my dad and I much better because we know that just like Ted and his family/Richmond, we will always love each other no matter how far apart we are. This series is incredible and I hope that it gives everyone else who watches it the same joy it gave to my father and I.
It's important to note that Ted doesn't just use positivity to cover his pain, that just makes it seem toxic, fake and a defense mechanism. But Ted chooses to be positive, regardless of the circumstance, and it's the choice that makes his positivity so IMPORTANT!
'I promise you there's something worse than being sad, and that's being alone and being sad.'
That scene is better than half the shows out there.
And the fact that it happens immediately after Ted sees Jamie being berated by his father when he had intended to congratulate him is one of the many examples of brilliant writing on the show. So little is by accident. People do the things they do for reasons that appear plausible to the nature of the character, not because they drive the plot forward.
Beard forgiving Nate was probably my favorite scene of the whole show (even if I felt his redemption wasn't fully earned). And I will never forget the "loaf of meth" joke 😂
As I saw it possibly happening I hated the idea of the Nate redemption. But those damn writers made me love it.
IMO that was the point though. Sometimes people feel backed into a corner through circumstance or their own doing. Even if they haven’t EARNED another chance, the only thing standing between them & redemption is someone to forgive them so they can have hope again. Beard went to jail, Ted gave him a place to stay & he stole his car. Logically, Ted had NO reason to forgive him & Beard had NO expectation of being given another chance/forgiven. Ted knew Beard was capable of good but he was stuck in a self destructive cycle. Nate is a good person who (because he had been bullied & ignored most of his life) was very protective of his relationship with Ted. When the one good thing in his life was threatened (e.g. when he feared Ted would pull away from him) he succumbed to negative emotions & as a method of psychological self defense, tried to hurt Ted because he felt like he couldn’t take it back/earn forgiveness.
The platonic relationship point is so well said. Those interactions are so valuable but I can’t recall other shows that did them so well without even the slightest bit of romantic undertone. With Camry and Syd and Rebecca and Ted there’s never even a question but you always leave each scene feeling like they have a real connection beyond what we see on screen full of conflict and ups and downs those relationships are core to both shows and without them the other stuff just can’t work as well
Parks and rec - Leslie and Ron!
Great platónico relationship
Ted is DEFINITELY not perfect. He’s just lovably imperfect. Seeing his struggles and panic attacks were so validating to me seeing how kind and determined he is so often.
I am not a football fan and Ted Lasso absolutely absorbed my attention span. It's so, so sweet and warm and kind. Every single time I expected the show to jump the shark and cash in for some cheap jokes - it didnt, and the character writing is incredible, every single character deviates from cliche behaviour and that really makes the show feel real.
Ted lasso is probably the worst, most unrealistic football shows off all time.
@@malakupearson1725 didn’t ask don’t care and you missed the point entirely
@@malakupearson1725 I guess you’re right! 😊 And it’s probably also the worst historical fiction show, the worst action show, the worst thriller show… because it’s not a football show, that just happens to be the context for where the relationships takes place and where all the dynamics play out. It’s not about the sport itself 😁
@@malakupearson1725 I guess you’re right! 😊 And it’s probably also the worst historical fiction show, the worst action show, the worst thriller show… because it’s not a football show, that just happens to be the context for where all the relationship dynamics take place and play out. I know you cautioned us about the slight change in format in your previous video, but it's still so resoundingly you in your delivery and observations (even if it doesn't have the counter). Thank you for such a succinct, thoughtful, and warm-hearted celebration of this amazing show that caused me to tear up at every episode for every possible emotion along the spectrum between joy and heartbreak.
Love this show, props to all the writers for a really tight and affecting narrative.
Ted Lasso is perfect. As someone who has suffered from panic attacks for 19 years I commend it on being the most realistic depiction of anxiety (for me) ever put to film. I appreciate that everyone's experiences are different but Ted's anxiety attacks are 100% like mine. And that's about the millionth reason why I love this show!
❤❤❤ yes!
Couldn't agree more.
The line in the finale from Rebecca to Ted always gets me: If I sell 49% of the team, I can afford to make you one of the highest paid coaches in the league. I still think I’d be underpaying you for what you mean to this club.
I so love how both of them developed and how it was Rebecca who was the first to help with Ted's panic attacks. but still, her new lover is a pilot (and she's filthy rich) so they can meet up to drink coffee, tea and Ted's home made biscuits often.
This is fantastic but we definitely need a part 2! This felt like a defence of Ted lasso against its critics. We need a full on legit list of the many good point!
So many iconic scenes I can think of right away. The darts scene, when Rebecca comes clean and apologizes to Ted, when Roy hugs Jamie after he confronts his father and SO many more. This show means so much to me and I can't be more grateful for the amazing actors, writers and the entire production team!
I had to stop this video after the first four minutes and watch Ted Lasso as soon as I had the time. While four episodes in, my only wish is that I could have seen it sooner. The darkest days of my life, so far at least have passed, Ted Lasso could have been a shining moment of enlightenment, joy, and wholesomeness during that time.
I don't comment on anything really, but I wanted you to know that you have introduced something that may be a corner stone of joy in my life. I already love the show. And I would like to think whatever my future holds, I can always bring a bit more wholesomeness with me. Thank you for sharing!
The best thing is just how genuine each characters’ growth feels. Each season starts and ends with a character (season 1, Rebecca, season 2, Nate, season 3, Ted) and each season shows these characters’ changing along with everyone else. In season one Rebecca owns and accepts her mistake of setting up Ted for failure while Leslie starts being more “chill” as he says, or Nate slowly developing that confidence that would then destroy him, or Roy finally softening up for seasons to come. Season 2 is Nate’s downfall along Jamie’s redemption and sam’s personal journey. Season 3 are the loose ends getting tied, ted accepts his place in the US, Roy opens up, Nate has his redemption, Rebecca gets her revenge on Rupert and so much more (like Collin, keeley, Trent, Beard and so on) and I just love to see these characters grow before your eyes (literally phoebe grows up between seasons)
"There's something worse than being sad, and that's being sad and alone." I used that line when I was consoling my friend after she told me about a loved one's suicide. And then I jumped in a plane (we live on different continents) so I could be sad with her. Thank you, Ted, for giving me the words.
One of the greatest series to ever be put on screen. And we need more of its message. The world needs to listen to its message. Just a fantastic, once in a lifetime, amazing amalgam of kindness and the results of simply doing your best to be kind and helpful to everyone you contact.
As I said before - I never seen in a show a genuine forgiveness - the one that is not another plot hook for another season. Ted forgives Rebecca and... it never comes back actually (not seriously at least). That is why I loved it so much after the first season. And for me second season was amazing. Third season was also really freaking good.
I mean this with no hyperbole at all... this show changed the way I view life. I watch a lot of movies and shows and some stick with me and others don't. This show....grasped at something on a core level that made me just view life differently from that point on. Im going through a real low point right now, but I just keep moving forward. Feels like it's going to be okay. Believe!
still the most emotional scene to me was when Ted was talking about why he treats people the way he does when he is talking about his dad with the therapist
Shoutout to Jamie for the best character arc with genuine personal growth from one of the most unlikable characters to one of the most endearing.
Hey Lee, this is one of the best videos you have made, and if you worry about people's reaction to this video. Take pride in this absolute piece of art you have made.
Seconded
Nate never changed. His character was revealed more openly in season 2&3 but he was always who he was he simply had no power and did not feel like he could express what he wished. When given that power he did but he did not change. He eventually grew from it and became better but he was absolutely the same character until he did choose to grow from it.
In season 3 he did become a fount of knowledge for no reason. Like in season 1 he’s can’t grasp simple analogies but then he’s schooling Coach Bear. Was a genuine gripe for me in the final season.
@@Grantjohnmorton what are you referencing specificall? When it comes to soccer he knows more than both of them combined. As for general stuff when it came to things unique to the US I wouldn’t expect him to and for a lot of season 1 he was still not fully comfortable interacting with them.
@@adarkwind4712 ok not the sport side of it more like the scene in where Tart walks in and Beard says that’s “Irony” and he corrects him by saying “hypocritical”. Tart wasn’t well read/educated in the first two seasons and then he just became a fount of knowledge from no where.
@@Grantjohnmorton pretty sure that specific scene was to show Jamie was more than just a face and was used as such. But he didn’t just become a genius he grew up from being a brat and became much more empathetic to others and their struggles. But what does that have to do with Nate
@@Grantjohnmortonyou're replying to the wrong comments, they're talking about Nate
I started watching this series three weeks ago and could not stop watching it. I just finished watching it today and it is every bit as fantastic as I wanted it to be. Every main character is lovable, the moments between characters are some of the best interactions on television, and this show conveys a wide range of emotions masterfully! I’m so glad that I watched the series and I can easily recommend it to anyone. It is a truly special show!
My wife and I are just about to watch the finale tonight, and I'm having a mini-crisis over having no more new Ted Lasso to watch. I wasn't sure about it going in, as I'm always skeptical of highly hyped shows. But god damn it, this one hit me hard. I freakin' love this show. I love the characters, the humor, the sincerity - it's uplifting, and that's just nice.
Honestly, I think Ted Lasso nailed it. As an American who follows the EPL (Arsenal forever!) they get the majority of the football stuff right while pointing a mirror at the sport and addressing many of the issues that athletes, fans, and sports all struggle to address either individually or as a whole. Plus it's just good television that took risks and they paid off.
Hearing you say Patriot was THE perfect tv show brought the biggest smile to my face in at least a week. I absolutely adore both Patriot AND Ted Lasso. And I absolutely agree. Patriot is THE perfect tv show. It's fantastic.
YES! Absolutely! Both are great, but I find so few people who love Patriot. It was amazing anyone who has not checked it out should. If you are in past the first 5 minutes you are in for a treat!
13:15 the quote about being alone and being sad being worse than just sad is hella true, dope show
This show is an example of perfect television in the perfect time to air. Covid was gut wrenching around the world and Ted Lasso took part in really helping so many people. Can’t thank everyone who was involved with this show enough. It genuinely saved my life.
I only started watching Ted Lasso because I live in Richmond where it was filmed and just wanted to see the places I grew up. Turns out it was a great show and I turned as many people on to it as I could. Loved almost every minute of it (Beards Wembley walkabout was a bit much for me).
It’s truly a brilliant programme that as a football fan, I ignored until I got a year of Apple TV with my new phone. Started watching just after the second season finished. It’s my favourite show for years and rewatched gives me so much joy. It doesn’t follow traditional comedy dramas creating problems where there aren’t. Ted and Keeley are both the most positive people. They influence everyone.
10:49 fun fact, the singing along to frozen wasn't actually scripted. the actor genuinely couldn't stop mouthing along to the song during filming, but the reason for doing so is the same reason Roy would have done it so it fits perfectly.
when he tells the story about his dad, why he loved him, it him me so hard because literally the same happened to me :( and man i miss him, but such a real story that felt close to home, loved the show
My wife, and mother of our child, ended our relationship during the pandenmic. She had her reasons, some of which were valid and reasonable. I ended up staying with my brother and watching the first season of Ted Lasso.
It hit a little harder than other content at the time, and I've been reluctant to return to its later seasons. I think I might be ready to get back to it.
Thanks for staying positive.
This is the one .... This "Everything Great About..." episode is OFFICIALLY my favourite. Not only because; you're saying everything that I thought about this awesome show, but this episode is where you really allowed your optimism to shine through and it is infectious. So, Thank you for making my day. ❤❤❤
Roy hugging Jamie really connects with his press conference remarks about not knowing what other people are going through. I’m certain seeing Jamie and Jamie’s dad’s relationship firsthand reminded him of that. I could be grasping straws here
Recently binged through all 3 seasons. I absolutely love this show.
Goddamn I loved this show!
Special mentions to Jamie Tart (do-do-do) & Roy Kent (He's here, he's there, he's every f*king where). They both have solid arcs developing them as people, but also maintain this odd frenemies relationship where they constantly piss each other off but are also there for each other.
I would kill for a full, proper cinemawins video for each season of this show. It's the epitome of this channel fr.
This show genuinely changed my life. I related so much to both Ted and Rebecca in different ways and even though I am in the camp who was depressed about the ending, I still think the show was incredible and everyone should absolutely watch it.
I'm really glad you talked about both of these shows! I've been in love with Ted Lasso since I started watching it during season 2 and The Bear since season one. Both some of (if not) the best shows I've ever seen, with so many feelings and amazing moments packed into every episode. Can't wait to see where The Bear goes from here but I know both shows will stick with me forever
I love how in 2026 season 4 is coming out and I'm already excited
Here is the thing. This show came out during the pandemic, which means the whole thing of it being feel good really helps considering the times. Man this is the best show I have seen on Apple TV.
Absolutely in love with the "1989 era was over and our reputation era had come back". CinemaWins / Taylor crossover is all I ever needed
Oh, also this video is perfect, Lee never stop doing what you do. The Ted Lasso of my heart ❤
I love Ted Lasso, and I just ignore the nay-sayers. Love who you love, and love _what_ you love, without apology.
I’ve watched the finale at least 4 times. And I still cry.
I like the shoutout to “Patriot”, a great show that a lot of people sadly have not seen and never heard of.
I like it too, It’s double great!
@@sureshotjohnLOL I love your username & pic!
I’m pretty sure Ted's first panic attack was during the press conference in the pilot. The audio recedes, the ringing fades in, Ted's hands start shaking, and there are several really short cuts between his face and the reporters.
I have caught all of your Ted Lasso references over the past few years and have been waiting for this video to come. It has not disappointed. What a show, and what a channel.
Cinema Therapy draws attention to that apology scene very well. Jason Sudeikis shows every emotion you would expect some to have in that situation in the course of 10 seconds. You can see Ted's shock, betrayal, anger, understanding, love, and acceptance on his face. The character clearly experiences all of that and just gets to where he needs to faster than the average person.
love everything about this show and i am looking forward to having forgotten enough about it to watch it all over again.
Everything about Ted Lasso Reminds me of this channel. Finding positivity and wins in everything. You both have that in common.
Wonderful commentary. I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned but in particular how they don’t stretch out the drama for the the sake of it. They handle it like….um… Adults!! Bravo.
I love how Ted Lasso breaks expectations, at the end of the first season (spoiler for those who didn't watch) Afc Richmond was almost falling and just needed a draw against City to save itself, normally you think the team will make it but not them they concede the goal and are relegated, they simply surprised me a lot because I was sure they managed to stay in the Premier League
I love the little change in the video title here! I don’t know anything about Ted Lasso, but I know I enjoy hearing your passion for things you enjoy!
I didn't think this video was ever gonna be made but im sooooo happy it is! One of my favorite series of all time
Absolutely one of the best shows I have ever seen. And yes...for at least two weeks afterwards, Wednesday evenings were just a bit sadder and emptier.
I was so excited for what the video was going to be this week and this is perfect. I'd been looking for videos about Ted Lasso but I hadn't thought we'd get one from you!!
"Good times aren't always god times" hits different in the re-watch. That said, this show has almost unlimited Re-watch potential.
The early panic attack foreshadow in the press conference. Roy watching Issac every time he did something that made him the to-be-chosen captain. Jamie growing closer and closer to Sam, damm, the whole Jamie journey.
Gold, pure gold. This series is a solid 5/7.
what kind of ranking system is that 😭
@@sarah-gl8cy Oh, search "solid 5/7 meme" it's a really Good old joke, a solid 5/7-
Thank you for doing this one! It's my favorite show and has meant absolutely so so much to me! I'm gonna miss this show so much!
I just finished watching this series last weekend, perfect timing!!!
Ted Lasso is a show I know that I will watch the whole way through again. More than once.
The whole reason I watched this show is because you said about it in the last video. It was on my watchlist for ages but just didn't get around it until then.
Whilst watching it, I actually forgot I was doing it for this video. I finished the show yesterday so seeing this upload today got me excited all over again.
I guess my angle of watching the show must have been different to a lot of you on the other side of the pond.
I really liked the first 2 seasons and was surprised to hear that apparently people didn't like the second but with me being British, I guess that makes sense. It was relatable to me. It's the hope that kills you was a quote that really hit home for me. Nate being a dick was kind of a relief for me as it gave me more of an antagonist to dislike. I enjoyed hating him and seeing his miserable guilt.
Then with season 3, I had trouble with it. It was showing too much of the side characters and not enough Ted. They were trying to get us to feel sorry for Nate and giving him way too much screen time which was bothering me a lot. I'd say like the last 3 episodes saved the season though. They were absolutely phenomenal. I cried like a baby at the end, so much so, that I'm sure Keeley would've liked to have seen it 😉😅
The best quote is when Ted said “ im a work in progmess” and I like Ted am a work in progmess
I've watched this show about 5 or 6 times by now, I always tear up at the Roy hugging Jamie scene. Something I noticed my 5th time watching this video is that Jamie flinches when Roy hugs him, even Jamie didn't think Roy was going to hug him. Also Behind the scenes, Brett Goldstein and Phil Dunster are great friends, and Brett said that Phil made him laugh in every scene, except that one. Incredible Acting from both men.
The best thing about this show is Roy always screaming whistle🤣🤣
I agree with you on all counts. Some parts of Ted Lasso could be better, but there was such a sincere attempt in the series to be something not just good but positive. I can get behind a series like that.
One of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I don’t think I’ve ever walked away from a show a better person. It taught me so much about growth and mental health. I saw myself in a lot of the struggles and eventual growths of many characters.
i just watched the whole show after seeing you upload this video - in order to watch this video.
i have never cried more to a piece of media, the show is one of the best things i have ever seen, thankyou so much
Yes! This show is the ultimate feelgood show and I genuinely FEEL like it’s not an unrealistic story while I KNOW it totally is
Cinematherapy made a psychology of a hero video about Ted Lasso recently, is a good watch, I’d recommend
I love videos like this that aren't just EGA videos. I need to get Nebula eventually
Watched this video. Binged all three seasons in four days. Walk around saying “poopah” all the time. Now watching this video again to remember the good times. Your videos honestly get me to watch all sorts of things and I really appreciate it.
This show is a masterclass on how you do character arcs and why they're important to any good story. They also don't all have to be big arcs. Some arcs are like Jamie and Roy while some a smaller like coach Beard, but the point is that unless you're doing a comedy serial like the Simpsons where everything is reset back to normal at the end of each episode you really do need arcs to get viewers invested in a character.
This show is so powerful that I was in tears just watching this video. This show is/was something else.
A few suggestions for after the Ted Lasso video:
1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
2. Jurassic Park III (2001)
3. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
4. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1981)
5. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
6. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Also, thank you so much for making these videos, CinemaWins!
Oh and please don't worry about this being a change of content! It was still a very fun video to watch, and I'm pretty sure most people here agree that it's not the *ding* and the win counter we come here for, it's you. So feel free to keep spreading positivity about any form of media the way you want. Hell, if you want to do your Todd in the Shadows impression and tell us about your favourite pop songs of the year I'm sure most would still watch that.
I especially liked that you didn't feel the need to explain each plot point in detail - I find that sometimes bothers me with these video essay structures, the creator will explain simple plot points that I already know about because I wouldn't watch the video if I didn't know the show.
Im glad Im not the only one who feels that way about patriot.
❤️oh man same.
Honestly I love this format and I’m so down for more
I’m a big fan of Parks and Recreation and for Christmas my grandma got me a card game based on Ted Lasso because she thought it was Ron Swanson. To be fair they do look similar. I still have the game. I never told her the mistake she made. I played it off very well because I immediately knew what was going on.
I know it sometimes went a little over the top with some things...but this was a truly good show.
A genuine attempt to make the world a tiiiiiiiny bit of a better place. And it did it's job.
Ted Lasso is probably my all time favorite show, ever, period. It is one of the most real shows I've ever seen and it was a perfect show. I didn't want it to end, but they wrapped it so beautifully I can't be mad or sad at it's ending. This will probably be a yearly rewatch type of show for me.
One of my favourite shows. Trent Crimm is is one of my favourite tv characters of all time
I've not seen season 3 yet, but honestly agreed - it's a great if genuinely affectionate romp on English football/soccer, and while the nods to real life clubs and players they're basing this on are a great plus if you're aware, you can know about as much about the game as Ted did on first landing and it all just Works. It loves being what it is, while taking on so much more in each episode, both outside of the game and inside of it
I love that in the Amsterdam episode rebecca meets “the Flying Dutchman”
Hard agree about Patriot. That vid needs to be done!
"You talked to God!?!?" Kills me every time. Perfect delivery.
This show makes you cry in the best way. It makes you sob and laugh all at the same time
Even after all the stuff that happened with Nate’s betrayal, I couldn’t help but root for Nate when Jade came through.
