I have owned every new stainless steel razor that’s come out in the last five years Rockwell 6s is the best!! smooth as hell great shave every time...perfection.
The knurled finish on the 6S will feel more pronounced as it's not chromed. The chroming takes the sharpness away from the knurling as its coating it and filling it in. Dave.
Initially I thought the R1 plate was “useless” ... but after a very close weekend straight razor shave, I was afraid my face would have been too sensitive for a regular Monday morning DE shave. Decided to try the R1 plate... it was fantastic. Did the job very well without irritating the face, still got BBS. Rockwell is my #1 razor to date, model T should be in my den soon.
Plate 1 is the only way for me to shave against the grain under the nose and under the chin. Anything else will cause bloodpoints. Plate 3 for WTG/XTG, Plate 1 for ATG is my way to go.
Hey, I'm an Aussie who's just declared war on Gillette and handed them the raw prawn. Just ordered a 6C in white chrome as I've seen many good reviews. I didn't have much to choose from on local sellers on Ebay (American postage costs are a real deal breaker here). As you can imagine, it cost an arm and a leg but love quality gear. Looking forward to that nice clean shave you guys are putting out there. Great Video.
Hello, fellow Rockwellites... I have the 6S. And I also settled on setting 3 as the ideal configuration. Occasionally, for larger bristles or for a head shave I use setting 6 (which, as we all know, still does not feel aggressive). I'm thinking about buying a 6C to have one on 3, the other on 6. Then I'd be set for life, hehe...
al mall ahoy fellow Rockwellite! If you have the coin that's not a bad idea. There is(as shown) minimal difference between the two.....but if it makes life easier then go for it!

I find the white chrome 6c glides over the face better as there is less drag than with the 6S stainless. Obviously the 6S will last a lot longer. Very impressed at the moment with the all stainless 3one6 Edwin Jagger. A beautiful razor and a good bit more aggressive than the DE89. Stay safe all, Dave.
Just a 'bye the way', but Zinc doesn't rust, but it can corrode. It's usually used because it's easy to cast where as stainless steel would probable have to be milled from a billet.
Hi, please, what do you recommend between the Matte black Rockwell 6S and the natural color (Inox)? I’d be curious to know how the PVD coating is holding up Thank you
Hi! Unfortunately I don't have the matte black one. I personally think that the original color one(INOX) likely will keep its color and look best over time even if treated roughly or gets dinged. Just personal opinion. Matte black looks amazing, but anything that's painted or coated has a chance of chipping over time.
@@thecanuckshaver922 Thanks I like the look of the steel version, looks great...I've already a crome merkur 34 so I'd wanna go stainless I think. But for now I'm just enjoying de shaving.
Ya.... still can't get my head around that gunmetal "chrome" 😣 Just doesn't look right. "Chrome" is silver/white, not gray 🙄 Gunmetal is a dry, matt finish... like charcoal, or graphite.... pencil led gray. That would've looked great 😉
I'm looking to get my first Rockwell Razor. I think I will star with that Gunmetal 6C because it looks amazing. If it isn't twice as good then I probably can't afford to spend twice as much right now.
I think the 6S is great. I don't have a 6C to compare it to but I assumed being made in the same place by the same people it should be as good. I was interested in the new adjustable model but it's been delayed so many times I don't care anymore.
I say all this as someone who ADORES his 6s, but Rockwell shot themselves in the foot with these delays. And now they want 200$ for a ZAMAK/pot metal razor with some steel and brass components? Get the fuck outta here! for 50$ (or the same price when matt runs his promos) You can get an all machined steel adjustable Rex Ambassador! Hell, look on the buy/sell/trade groups and find one under $200, I just got one for $150!! Check out Ruds' review on the Model T, he (very politely) destroys it..
Chrome finish 3 piece razor problem is screw thread stripping. How long duration of the Rockwell 6C do you think compared to stainless steel 6S? And no problem with 6S?
You have a great point. I doubt you would ever have an issue with 6S, where the the 6C could possibly develop a compromised finish in time if not cared for.

I don't think these zinc alloys rust, do they? Instead the problem is that they are more brittle, like they could break, right?
Zinc alloy doesn't rust but can suffer from corrosion.

Lol....not sure how to take this comment.
