thanks for doing a very cool test. Particularly interesting given the public discussions of the army looking for a round to penetrate Russian armor at longer ranges. What type of ammo were you using? And what was the armor rated for Level III or Level III+? Beautiful rifle too. Keep posting more!
If you get into reloading for 6.5 creedmoor try: 41.5 grains of IMR 4064 100 grain FMJ I tried it and it pierced a steel target i have that looks to be the same thickness
Think you'd get penetration from a 100gr pill? 6.5 Grendel & Creedmore seems more like precision ammo that won't have the natural velocity to beat armor but still have great bc. Need a hardened steel arrowhead design bullet like M855A1 or M80A1 or a tungsten core bullet to see if AP is even possible
Glendale gets about 2650 fps in a 16 inch barrel creedmore gets about 3000 I think the velocity is high enough but do u know what kinda plate they using 3 or 3+ thanks
This is not how ballistics works... It depends on the projectiles composition and velocity a 90 grain projectile moving 3100 ft/s that is made out of copper jacketing and a tungsten core in a sharp profile will punch through that plate no problem.

hand load some 90g speer's .@3400+. then pop it.
50m with 6.5 creedmoor , that's ricochet territory, stay safe and keep the good videos coming
what was the barrel length
27" is almost ~15% more energy at 50yards vs 18" barrel

saintsinningsword Well if the army adopts 6.5 creedmoor they will make a tungsten core round
I think it has more to do with weight in this case, my 308 with 180gn sn craters that same steel

6.5 Creedmore is too slow, that's it.
You guys shoot'n at the dump?
