Elvis Presley's Palm Springs Home: Iconic Chino Canyon House Where He Recorded 9 Songs

- Join The Spa Guy on a tour of Elvis Presley's Palm Springs home, located in the Chino Canyon neighborhood. This iconic house was purchased by Elvis in 1970 and remained one of his favorite homes outside of Graceland until his death. Notably, Elvis recorded several songs in the living room of this home, including "Sweet Angeline". Designed by architect Albert Frey for the Jurgens family, the house was later owned by Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald's, before being purchased by Elvis. The house features an outdoor jacuzzi for privacy and comfort, and at the time of his death, Elvis was having a new master bedroom built on the property. I'm so glad there was someplace Elvis could go to have some peace and relax without people begging for his attention.
When Elvis was doing movies early 60’s him and entourage were at staying hotel. There was disturbances by him and his entourage in hall way complaints and then he decided best to get a house out there while doing movies. He average 3 movies a year
Imagine being in that living room listening to the 9 songs that he recorded right there. It's like having a private concert for you only.
My parents lived in Palm Springs for many years. Elvis was listed in the phone book. The house was under construction when Elvis died and it was broken into that night with a guitar, clothing and some personal items taken.

Wow!! This is the style of home I always pictured Elvis as owning. He bought Graceland for his mother and honored her there but I always thought he would want this style for himself.

My girlfriend and I (from Maryland) visited Palm Springs a few years ago,...and went to see the former stars' homes including Elvis's honeymoon house. We then (previously not known to us) went right up the street to see this house which almost had as much(maybe more )Elvis history to it. There were landscapers there,...so the side gate was open. My girlfriend was able to take pictures of the pool area,...and into the home from the pool deck. Also,...the Frank Sinatra ''Twin Palms' home not far away had some workers going in and out,...and we were able to get some great pictures of that home too,....among many others including the Dean Martin home which was very small,..for sale,...and in disrepair.
Very Cool. Elvis only rented the Honeymoon house 1 years this house was over 7 years..

Spa guy. I think this is the best video you have done. I was absolutely captivated on the history of this house. I had no idea Elvis recorded 9 songs here. The details of previous owners, the inside shots of the home, the info on the new addition he didn't see completed, waving to his friend. I mean it came alive. You always tell an excellent story. Your voice was meant to be heard as it is so clear and I can understand every single word. You never rush through your videos trying to get it over and done. What a thrill it would be to rent this place..You definitely have to rent this place and hold a Christmas party there. That would be the #1video on you tube if all time. Just an excellent job only you can do. Good luck with the Tiger Man escapade that happened during Elvis week. Hope those people get their just reward for what they did. Keep up the good work.
Are you sure he recorded nine songs here? I have several books about his recording sessions and all of them show just two or three songs.

Wow, this place has such a different vibe than Graceland or any of the other homes Elvis lived in. I almost feel like the walls of the rooms would need to be lined with curtains in order for it to have that “Elvis was here” feeling! It’s also amazing that he could have his privacy here when his fans literally knew everywhere else he was or was going to be and would be waiting outside of the gates of Graceland or Peruvia Way.
Never heard he owned this house or spent time here. I would love it if you would rent it and show the inside! Play his songs he recorded in the living room. Wow!

Was there 2 weeks ago, crews were working on the outside and a film crew was doing a documenery on the work, I got to the front door which was open and saw the pool, then I was told to leave.

Another phenomenal job by you guys. I learned something new about Elvis. I know his financial situation was tenuous at the end but surprised EPE hasn’t acquired this property in the past to take advantage of it’s history. Especially since he owned it when he passed away and spent so much time here

Absolutely fascinating. An interior tour would be amazing.
This must have been prime real estate in its time. The previous owners had buying power and chose this house above others as well so must have had a special vibe for a getaway bolthole.
Never been to Palm Springs but loved the drive up with the mountain backdrop.
Would be great to see a compilation of all the properties in the order Elvis bought them.

Great Video as always, some interesting facts about where Elvis lived and how much he loved this home. I love the fact that Elvis while on stage was lavish and extravagant in his persona, he certainly liked a more understated home life. He could have had a sprawling mansion out there but choose a more modest home. He was really a down to earth southern boy and I assume the cosy feel of the home made him feel secure and at ease. Hope you do decide to rent sometime I certainly would watch that video inside the home, great job thanks.

Hi Billy. Elvis standing at the door waving in June 77 shows he was comfortable and relaxed being there. However I still feel that him dying at Graceland Memphis was so much more acceptable to his family and friends as it was his real roots home. Great video. Palm Springs was really the only other place for Elvis to have Graceland 2. Dry rocky hot and a complete contrast to Memphis. He loved Christmas in Graceland and the snow. Thank you for sharing this.

Wow! I had no clue about this house,, maybe that was the point lol! The history is really interesting. Was it fenced in like that with the wire when Elvis lived there?,,looks kinda harsh with that and the cinder block. To each their own but I prefer green moisture than brown dry. Love the palm trees however 🌴🙂 It would be cool to spend the night 👍
