I know you’re uncertain about climbing San Jacinto. It will give you experience that you’re going to need when you get to the Sierras. There is still 15 maybe 20 meters of snow even at mid-elevations, and most of it will be there when you arrive in June or July. San Jacinto will be a piece of cake compared to what you’re going to face.
Just have to tell you. My cat was looking at me as if I hadn’t already put the food in the bowl, and when I pointed down to it, I said “This here food right there” and then I laughed thinking I’m picking up Julianne-isms. :-) Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. 😊
Outros withoutros intros withintros it's all good! ...your videos are the best ever since Dixie, Darwin, IBTAT and Feathers. You've got the personality girl. What ever you do keeps us coming back! Love following your journey! You make it very real for us! You're doing perfect.
Man, your vids make me hardcore YEARN to be on trail. Love ur humor! Always makes me smile. Not to mention how amazing it is to have Lil Chap as ur adventure buddy. Im sure yall will be lifelong friends. You're very blessed 💕
The post offices along the PCT are notorious for losing packages. If you are going to run into a lot of snow, a 9" square cake pan makes a handy snow scoop/base for stove. Have fun. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Oh, also also- Outros are helpful. Many times i think ive accidentally skipped forward or missed something when you just end. Its nice to have a warning that ur ending the day.
Roadrunner, I am thinking "outros" are a great way for you to wrap your day, or express anything that you haven't already expressed during the day to the camera, it's also a chance for you to look ahead about the plan tomorrow. So I will vote FOR "outros". Hope you and Chap are well and strong. Have a great weekend. Jack NYC
The desert is really dry! Much more lotion IS necessary. The San Jacinto is where many folks get lost and the weather can be aweful. Use extreme caution. 7:47 You two clean up nice!
Great nero. That is a cute cabin or whatever. Glad you got all your chores done. Tomorrow you can take care of you. Remember, chicken soup is good for colds. Julianne, I had to laugh. Yesterday, I watched your video about you and Li'l Chap coming down with a cold. Then, late afternoon yesterday, I started sneezing. My nose started running (more than usual), and my head feels huge, just feel miserable. I think I caught your cold. Lol. Take care of yourself. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
It's Spanish. So it's San (Ha)cinto. Hopefully your summit was successful. I'm guessing it's after the fact, but approach with caution. I know others have made it up with microspikes but it's not recommended. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the zero in Idyllwild. Happy Trails!! :)
Actually not. It’s Jacinto, one of the few Spanish words that use a hard J. I’m sure there’s some reason for it, but all Southern Californians call it San Ja-cinto.
Regarding outros, I actually miss the music you used to do at the end of your AT videos when you posted the mileage! I find that I'm playing it in my head out of habit!
Kolonialmensch. Americans have such a giant equipment advantage! Jus Sanguinus- We never became US citizens. Left us behind. Wonderful scenery. You too seem to be feeling better and everything must be filmed. Less wildlife with no deer, bear, and no boar. Potsdam- Slavic- Under the Oaks- acorns. In youth the Vanderbilt lands and Cradle of Forestry were Schwarzvald or Black Forest construction.
Hey HkD, u all look much healthier than last post. I was getting worried, but nah u good. Nice to see everyone washed, rinsed and dried. Good luck crossing Mt. Jalepeno. Never u mind the naysayers. Common sense, strategy and mother nature will guide. Btw, show us some trail dancing. U know. Slow, slow, qk qk, slow.
🚶♀️👟👟⛺ you're doing an amazing job roadrunner that was a very nice place you're staying at better than that one place some amazing looking food and a beautiful smile beep beep
did you ice axe get mailed insured? if so they need to file a claim to get paid by postal insurance. Ya’ll need to be hitting the trail just before first light not when the sun comes over the mountains because outside the shadow of the mountains it’s already heating up. Take advantage of the coolest time of day. Be safe on Mt San Jacinto.
Also, wondering how life as an introvert whos attempting to extrovert is treating you. Im sure Lil Chap pulls it out of you, but how often do you feel ready to "introvert"?
Well everyone's danger level is different. That why i never believe anyone that says o this is dangerous. Im all about safety but my danger level is super high. So it would take a lot scare me. So in your honesty opinion which is easier as of right now the A.T or the PTC?
This means "You sound good outwards" (with the conjugation of the verb "klingen" butchered) . You can either say: "Du siehst gut aus", which means you look good or "Du klingst gut" which means "You sound good", probably if you want to tell her that her voice sounds better after the cold. But in this case both sentences are still correct (I warned her months ago from all the dangers awaiting her on the PCT...). At least there are no cows up on the mountain otherwise she could still use the axe as tool for self defense.
sorry I just dont understand whats going on, German is not my 1st language neither English and now I am a bit confused (Sorry, I am an disabled old man, Lying in my hospital bed to keep me movited I following some Hikers on the PCT / AT, I keep hearing "Du Klingt gut aus" (yesterday hikingDancer had a cold) today she sound much better, it was a just a compliment to keep her sprit high (anyway thanks for the corrections I appreciate :)
Outros are cool, but not necessary. You may already be past San Jacinto, but there's more snow ahead in the Sierra if not along the trail. Please check in Idylwild for the guy who teaches mountain safety and ice axe technique. An ice axe is useful if you know the technique to use it and have a bit of practice, something we do each winter before climbing. The guy teaches safe use, people can be hurt using or just improperly carrying an ice axe and you guys don't need that dangerous premature ending to your hike. I hope you had a nice recovery in town.
Actually, it’s pronounced Ja-cinto, using the English hard J. It’s one of the very few Spanish words that use the hard J. Only easterners and Germans call it Ha-cinto. LOL
The police are acting correctly in stopping vehicles which have passengers in non seat areas. No seatbelts. Any collision will result in those people being ejected. It's fine to criticise police officers if they're over stepping their powers, but enforcement of the law is their job and stopping the transport of people in a pickup, thus not restrained by seatbelts, is what they should be doing.
Ice Axe money!
How are these type payments made?
So nice!!!
God bless the generous donor! How wonderful and kind!

You look like you are feeling better in this video! Great to see! Glad you had the opportunity to take a nearo and a zero to get some rest!
Leave it to the towns to be the most hectic and not quite everything going as expected!
LETS GO!

Really joyful to follow your adventures on the pct.
Trotsky and the Ice Axe in Mexico City. He's got the basics down.
I’ve watched all of these vids….. I need more!! 😂😂😂😂 love em!! Thank you!!

Tell Chap to be careful with that ice axe!!
I grew up watching Bonanza! Big Hoss and Little Joe. Vic is awesome!
OMG that burger looked amazing! 😋 well deserved too! What a busy day. Im sorry your ice ax got lost in the mail though.
Oh, also also- Outros are helpful. Many times i think ive accidentally skipped forward or missed something when you just end. Its nice to have a warning that ur ending the day.
I think you're in the same room the Codgers (or the Lathers, I can't remember) had last year.
I had to switch out my pack and I also went to Nomad. Such a great gear store.
Another great video! Looks like y’all enjoyed your stay in that nice little cabin. Hope your colds are better.
😂😂ear plugs that is hilarious . It looks like a neat little town with awesome food. Glad you finally found a washing machine 👍😊
Look at you guys goo!!!!! You're my inspiration! This helps till I get out on trail in the future ❤
Looked like you and Chap were recovered from the cold. Happy trails and be safe!

San Ha-sin-to. It's Spanish. Like pronouncing Jalepeno is Ha-la-peno. Keep trekking. 😀
Ha-la-pay-nyo 😉
Are you feeling better? 🤞
Ice ax woo!!!! I love to see em

Sahn Ha-seen-to. Saint Hyacinth of Poland.
Looking nice with your hair down. Look younger and beautiful.
Un bon lit au chaud 😊 quel bonheur ❤

You must be incredibly fit, because your foot cadence is really high all the time.
If you want to give money to Roadrunner give via her other account choices listed in her vlog description. She’ll get more of it.
You might want to add a leash/tether to your ice axe so you don't lose it.A paracord wrist lanyard would be better than nothing.
The cabin is nice. The man who built out his truck to drive hikers around is super kind.👣🌼😊
Looked like a great place to stay. Enjoy your zero!
How have those trail buddy poles been holding up? i bought a [air but have not gotten them to a trail yet.
In Texas we’d say the “J” in San Jacinto

I love your slam finishes 👏
(Outros are fine but…)
I’m good either way. I like altros if you have time.

Outros are over-rated. Keep doing what you love to do on that particular day. Nice Nero little Hoss !
MARRY ME 😅
San Jac(k)!
I thought it was San J and San G (gorgonio)
Is it cheating to take the cable car up San Jacinto?
Btw I just wanted to say that the black snake probably forgives you for being so mean to him or her.
Du klingt gut aus , take care

Ok Karen.
Carrying an axe is not much benefit if you have not been trained in correct use. Have you had any training ? Not from Litl chap demonstrated...
