Viltrumites are constantly at war in a state of fighting and survival. They’ve never experienced what it’s like to be loved or wanted and needed in someone’s life they don’t know how important and how greatly that can affect you, so when they come to earth and have that for the first time it’s a huge deal. Before Debbie Nolan had never felt loved before. He never had someone who relied on him or cared about him that much which later involved into him caring about her to and then having a Mark and watching him grow up on earth, and experiencing how humans share families and how we expressed love and relationships and take care of each other, completely changed everything. It’s just like how a soldier coming home from war wants nothing more than just to be with his wife to experience love again instead of violence.
I love Nolan’s character so much. He just keep peeling off masks showing the true motives behind his actions. He pulled off his first mask in season 1, showing his loyalty to the viltrume empire. In season 2, it gives more context to Nolan’s character, and shows how he really cares for the people of earth, but didn’t want it to be destroyed by the full might of the empire. It doesn’t make his season 1 choices okay, but it gives more context behind them
@lawlessx9 To me, THAT'S top-tier acting, when you can't just know from hearing them speaking, when it's not supposed to be them in the movie. It does have to still be good at the role it was supposed to be, though.

Character development makes for good stories. It feels like a no brainer and yet shows like this with descent character developments seem so few and far between nowadays.
