- You are one of Professor Clemmons' most trusted associates sent to check in on The Tinkerer, who is working on something of great importance for the sanitarium's Director. You soon learn that Dr. Corvus D. Clemmons, resident Plague Doctor at Arkham Sanitarium, has made special arrangements for his beloved brother.
This is a monthly Patron-contributed video, where I create something based on their input. This is a one-off idea that I had fun with, so don't take it too seriously nor too strictly as Rift World "canon", unless it happened in an alternate timeline..

What is ASMR? It is both a sensation and a medium.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect. - บันเทิง

I Wear A Fez Now He basically makes his own lore inspired by the following (that I have noticed): Yarnham (Bloodborne), The Call of Ctuhulu, The Shadow Over Innsmouth (probably a couple more books by H. P. Lovecraft), The plague doctor, Several holiday figures (Santa, Easter Bunny, etc), Fallout games (I think, I'm not so sure but his Candy Man character seems like he would be of that part), and lastly from what I can recall off the top of my head, various original characters which have very interesting quirks, aaaaaaand being able to travel through the rifts which could be also said as a portal between dimensions/realities

The Tinkerer reminds me of my old girl scout leader, Patricia. Like, minus the beard and the hat, add a perm and bifocals, and there is Patricia. Whenever I watch the Tinkerer I can't shake the thought of her, so eventually her voice just pops in instead of Ephemeral's. Not a voice that soothes the soul sadly, nasally and high pitched. She also paused a lot when she was talking like, " Okay girls.. we uh, need to sell..... 30 boxes if we wanna, uh... reach our goal." But at the same time it'd be really fast. Patricia was a trip.

So it's a possibility that all of these characters are alternative personalities of one man with a mental disorder in the Arkum Sanatarium right? Spending his days being different people he's created and talking to someone who isn't there. Maybe The Professor is actually the dominant or strongest personality that the others spawned from but the real man hardly ever comes out. Also like the sanatarium is actually very normal and no one like these characters work there.

I think The Professor was the first stage of the disorder, and the evil one: he keeps twisting the real man's mind, driving him insane even more and creating more alter-egos. Once one of them becomes "sentient", he commands the real man to "kill the professor" - in fact, he is the doctor alter-ego. He understands that killing the professor might kill all other personalities, but if the real one's brain won't be able to handle all the characters, he would probably die. One of the relatives/friends of the real one might be so shocked by his loss, that they'd go insane, and this would be the new host for The Professor. Now that I think about it, the Rift might be a dimension beyond the reality we're used to - it's a spiritual/subconscious world, linked between the minds of all the people, perhaps even some kind of purgatory - scrapped soul storage, a place where all the souls, that won't be born or reborn, go. Professor tries to either break out of it, or damage people's souls, so they suffer his fate.

All lines could be whispered in an 'ASMR mode', and certain treatments could boost points, whilst the Harvest costs such, yet unlocks treatments:3

I love how he has so many different characters that all act different and he puts on all these different costumes and even acts/speaks slightly different for all of them. Not only that but they all have a backstory, and they're all connected. As someone with a raging imagination I love this and find it so interesting. I live and appreciate all the work and time that goes into these. It shows that anything can be an art

I think almost everyone overlooks the fact that this man was sitting at a desk looking at a camera for almost hour so I congratulate you for this awesome video and taking almost an hour out of your day for our relaxation

I think the best part of the video is how he tried to get the lense bit onto his glasses for a solid minute before giving up. You can also tell there were cuts in the video where he probably either got frustrated with it or took even longer

alright, a while back I commented on his last video with the tinkerer, I honestly didn't expect a reply but uncle E actually replied! I love the content he puts out and the lore he's created. Ephemeral Rift has taken ASMR and twisted it into a complicated and beautiful art. I would love to see a movie on this, nothing big but, a short film at the least. Jessica Landwehr That really got me laughing for some reason! Well, both Margaret and the Professor are clearly insane, so why not! Would that make Corvus Raoul, then? Or maybe the Persian?
WHAT THAT WOULD BE GREAT!
Considering that both the Professor and the Doctor are either Eldritch Abominations or categorically insane (possibly both!), plotting to 'kill' either one is more like pulling a good prank, even if successful. Death is an irritant for these kinds of beings but certainly a good way to get even with someone who last night refused to have your favourite to programme on in favour of their own. That's how I'd argue this is canon.
Especially as the Rift World set-up means that it has canon in the same way Doctor Who has, it does, until it changes when time, space or the universe does.
Daniel Yates we already know the professor is Nyarlathotep and he is considered the god of many forms in the Cthulu mythos. He is probably one being playing many characters with a few genuine ones sprinkled in.
