      @@baqcasankeHey, both the H4n and H1n have line inputs. On the H1n, it has a combination mic/line jack, which appears to auto detect the signal type. Here are some settings to keep in mind: 1. Turn off the limiter. 2. Turn off the Low Cut filter. 3. Turn off auto gain adjustment. 4. Set the audio quality to WAV format. Now set your levels so they are peaking between -12 db and -6 db. Verify these settings before you try to record. I hope that helps!

    Hello Ollie Loops, I recently discover your videos about OP-Z and it is very helpful. About OP-Z as input in a DAW, I didn't find the way to select it. It doesn't appear on the list of inputs. I'm on Windows 10 and Live 9, maybe this is why. I also made the update and I actived the usb audio monitor mode, but no results. Do you a idea how I can resolve this ? :)

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victor Douay hey, thanks for your comment and question. Have you checked the settings in Windows Sound Settings? You will need to select the OPZ as an input both in Windows settings and in the preferences of Ableton Live. If you have done this, but it still doesn’t show up as an input in Live, then it could be a connectivity issue. So try connecting the OPZ directly to the computer with the TE USBc cable. You could try going into content mode on the opz to test connectivity. If you have good connectivity, then it is likely a settings issue in Windows. Let me know if that helps.

    This is awesome! I’ve been trying to record via the camera kit onto my iPhone. I’m using the camera app (I want a video of me playing the opz). I’m getting loud buzzing that cuts any audio, especially when I use punch in effects. Any idea why this might happen?

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I just ran a quick test and it works for me. Assuming you have the Apple camera kit connected to an iPhone with a lightning connector, connect the OPZ via USB-C to USB-A to the camera kit. Then, you can open Voice Memos on the phone and run a test to make sure audio is properly recorded to the phone. Press record in the app, press play on the OPZ, press stop on the OPZ, and press stop on the app. Does it record properly? If not, you may need to troubleshoot this further. If so, next, open the camera app, go to the video setting, press record, press play on the OPZ, press stop on the OPZ, press stop on the app. Hopefully that works for you. Let me know.

    • @MrDubDz
      @MrDubDz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ollie Loops thanks for responding! It didn’t really record properly onto the voice memos either. Any suggestions of how to troubleshoot?

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrDubDz That seems odd. Ok, to start the troubleshooting process, you want to eliminate variables. First, check that you're on the newest OPZ OS (1.2.26). And it doesn't hurt to be on the latest iOS. If that doesn't fix it, then try connecting to your computer to see if it's the phone or the OPZ. The OPZ is an audio interface, so you should be able to send audio from the OPZ to your computer. Make sure you select the OPZ as the input on your computer. Then use an app that can record audio. Garageband comes with Macs and is free. Or you could use Audacity which is free and cross platform. If the signal coming into your computer is still distorted, then it is likely an issue with the OPZ and you will want to contact TE's tech support. If the computer can receive a clean signal from the OPZ, then the issue is likely with the camera kit or the phone. You could try someone else's iphone as a test. If it works on someone else's iPhone, then it is an issue with your phone. If it doesn't work on another iPhone, then it is likely an issue with the camera kit itself. I hope that helps. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

      @OllieLoops  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrDubDz I have not experienced clipping when using punch in effects. I just checked via camera kit and iPhone and it all worked just fine. Try running through that list of troubleshooting items and see if you can narrow down the issue.

  • @philphilphil

    Hi! Does this also work for the OP-1 regarding the advice given in how to record to an iPhone? Thanks!

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. To record into the OP1, you would need to use a stereo 1/8” to 1/8” cable. Come out of the OPZ’s headphone output and into the OP1’s line input. Set the level of the OPZ around 60% - 75% and set the input gain on the OP1 so it’s not clipping nor quiet. To record an entire song, you would need to record into the OP1’s tape section. I hope that helps! Have fun.

    • @philphilphil

      Ollie Loops Thanks for your reply! I think my question was written awkwardly. What I meant was recording from OP-1 into the iPhone.

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see. I do not believe that it does. The reason that the OpZ works with an iPhone over usb is that the Z can be an audio interface which the OP1 is not. To record into an iPhone from the OP1, you would go from the headphone output of the OP1, into an audio interface and then into the IPhone. With an additional device like the iRig Pro you could record into the iPhone from the OP1. I hope that helps.
