- The Detectives find themselves hunting for a person who cut off a man's genitals and left him to die.
Season 5, Episode 9 'Control': A man is found castrated and bleeding profusely at a subway station, but because of the victim's prior history of abusive behaviour, it's tough to narrow down which victim could be a suspect.

The old man Olivia was interviewing was Mariska Hargitay’s real-life father Mickey Hargitay. For those wondering, his accent is Hungarian. Fun Fact: he was a professional bodybuilder in his younger days.
No kidding. I obviously didn’t know that until now.
That is so cool - thanks for sharing!
I knew it from the start from his features
A masterpiece for one man !
Thanks for the info
I was expecting this to focus mainly on the repercussions of Olivia not listening to the victim the first time and how that shapes her approach later on, so you can imagine my bewilderment in the first half watching a homeless man praise Satan for the offering of genitals
The show can get very wild. There was one episode with a cult of young women led by a man claiming he could “clone” them to avoid human extinction.
Come now, SVU never showed any repercussions for detectives screwing up.
@@ajvanmarle Yup this show is the television example of qualified immunity. OG L&O as well in a lot of episodes.

Whenever you see B. D. Wong it's going to be a good episode
Right?! I miss him so much in the newer episodes. He was one of my favorite characters.
"He invented the game you find underneath bottle caps."
"I never win at that."
"They're rigged, it's a scam to sell soda."
I love the writing for this show to BITS.
People tend to often miss one fun thing on this episode , Munch's crazy internet use in this case🤣
it's been established ages ago he has some weird internet trips. so we just sorta go... ooh munch. you are so adorable. when he says or does outlandish things. cause we are so used to it. that's why we love him.
It was so awesome to see Mariska Hargitay share the screen with her own real-life dad, Mickey Hargitay! RIP Mickey Hargitay! 🙏❤
And her mother Jayne Mansfield. She died way too young in a car wreck.
@@dannythomas417 Yes, Rest in Peace to her as well! 🙏❤
I have to admit, Munch was always a bit of the oddball and even I had to wonder how did he know that, but what's even more perplexing is his fascination with strange, deranged, and outrageous historical facts that he finds via the internet, but I suppose in his line of work, it does help to know about these things.
Honestly considering the stuff I’ve seen while on Wikipedia binges, that little rant of his is probably the most realistic thing about this episode
One of my favorite actors. He played the exact same character across how many series?
That charge on the mom would never stick giving the fact that the cops came in accusing the daughter which made her mother take the blame out of pressure.
Wrong 😑
Forgot how theatric this show always was. That subway dude came straight from Skyrim 😂
And the way the policeman said "It's him",you'd think Samael was a prophet, thing of Evil.
Hey, you. Finally awake?
Pretty sure this came out before skyrim
@@BlaxkSun the elder scrolls in general. Oblivion, Morrowind etc
Bro looks like he's about to tell me I sleep rather soundly for a murderer
“So either Gorman was snipped by a homeless guy or had a voluntary penactomay which is not something I get to see everyday.”
You arrest the very person you was supposed to protect . She was a victim and that man wouldn’t be dead if Olivia did her job the first time! He would be in prison
That one time Nosferatu showed up
Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that woman, the blond one Olivia didn’t believe at first, the same as the one who tried to kill her husband with gold in House MD? I swear she looks familiar.
Yes
That woman needs to apologise, not start pushing the victim with questions.
They're trying to save another woman. So apology yes but also push with questions
Trying to calm him down to cuff him and she is flashing the light in his face making him act out more.
Love seeing Mariska & Mickey in this scene together ❤
I understand they were arresting the Mom for murder, but couldn't they at least have let her change into something more appropriate for jail and not a low-cut nightdress?
if cops raid your place while your on the toilet, you are not even allowed to finish wiping before cuffs are on you. as fucked up as it is.
Surely you would need more than just a confession to arrest the mother. She could have been lying to protect the daughter.
She WAS lying to protect her daughter. Granted, her reasons for doing so are completely understandable.
😂😂😂😂😂 Finn calling out Munch for knowing about castrating of the high priest for divine status . A mixture of concern and WTF 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I like how Olivia Benson almost arrested the daughter I did feel sorry for her the daughter she had no choice to do it so she has to pay the price. Am I right? But anyway, it was nice to see another video of SVU again love it. Love you Olivia Benson. I like how the mother stood up for her child to keep her safe, but she can’t save her now. Plus we saw both Mariska’s Father and Husband on the show
Which one is her husband?
@@NH-tb2smthe guy who plays Trevor Langham, one of the defence lawyers that they go up against sometimes.
i always enjoy Samantha Mathis when she has a role.
Mariska and her real life Father Micky.
Love you guys❤
The light it’s blinds us!!!
When we used to watch dystopian societies living in squallers, as this episode showed, we have come to realize people are living like this today. It is just sad to see
I won a bunch of times on those caps .it was only a free soda.
So she didn’t apologize to the victim about dismissing her claim? And then asked her to give a full story of the events? I expected better tbh, I thought her character had more integrity than that
Very good acting❤
I remember her❤ awesome acting
Dot was in Orange Is The New Black lol awesome ♥️
I kinda remember this episode
Talented people ❤
Well it's clear a makeup artist was paying attention to Harry Potter and did their take on Lord Voldemort
I wonder how many takes it took without laughing @ 1:14
Why confess? Why not be your daughter's alibi?
If I remember the episode correctly he was killed with a one of a kind antique knife that was taken from the mother's store, something like that where an alibi wouldn't have made a difference. And the daughter confesses in the end anyway.
hillary looks just like maria from silent hill 2
"How did you find me?" We're the fucking police.
This is why you never help the police
There are many reasons to never help the police.
6:39 ...uhh that dosent sound like a "come on in" why she leave the door open?
Oh look, subway officer is none other than Cash Cab's Ben Bailey!
What happened to me.. saying oh she was drinking.
At the ending there, why not arrest both?
One is suspected, but the mom obviously could have made it up to save her daughter just as much as she could have done it.
Dumbazzz, the 2 train does NOT come from Riverdale. Only the 1 train. (2 train is Northeast Bronx). New Yorkers gonna call out flubs
A mom would go to jail❤ for her child. But not for other people as easily ❤

Does Jacqueline Bissett age at all?
That women a suspect to protect her daughter, man i gotta say enjoy the prison while you can !
How do they film this???
On a set?
Sometimes on real locations with permission I guess
@@minejager1818 I was being sarcastic. I already know the answer!!!
Omg Mariska’s daddy ❤❤❤

It might be the mom, but don't know for sure ❤
