⏩ Wich musician has influenced your instrument setup/choice/playstyle the most? For me it is Jaco! I love the tone and notey approach he took on bass. For live content catch me on Twitch. www.twitch.tv/drumrolltony
He's very Anika Nilles like you know? Very fluid, very watery. I like the octopus reference. Anika and Vlad have very similar playing styles. Granted she plays Jazz Progressive Rock and he's Metal Progressive Rock.
One thing I’ve concluded about Jinjer…each musician is playing lead, in one way or the other. You notice, Roman never takes a guitar solo? Each of them is weaving together three separate lead lines, sometimes converging. Then, Tatiana adds the vocal melodies to complement the other three elements. They’re a fascinating, incredible band.
I feel like when Dmitry Oksen left they split his parts of the musical landscape among Eugene, Roman and Vlad so Vlad has room for and is responsible within their sound for aspects of their sound that's beyond what one would normally expect from drums. The interview Eugene did recently (out yesterday?) about their composition process is interesting too.
Eugene absolutely gushes over Vlad. He recently said, if Vlad wanted to play the trumpet, give him 2 months and he'd own it. He is an absolute musical beast.
Love Vlad's playing. Your reactions are so good. I worked with a drummer who had his kit setup like Vlad's. I asked him, "Why everything so flat"? Told me he could hit harder and be more efficient with less effort. Less arm fatigue also...
Hello from New England..@2:08...You can see Vlad's left foot move over to a third pedal that controls an remote hihat wihch adds so much texture to the song...Vlad is a multi instrumentalist who plays piano guitar bass and drums..More still..I've read in interviews that Vlad actually wrote all the music on Jinjers lastest album..which says it all about his abilities.. Peace from the Northeast...
This was awesome. Every member of Jinjer is so accomplished, it's impossible to fully appreciate any given part until you carefully study a playthrough.
Great reaction as usual. Glad to see you back reacting to Jinjer (Vlad play through). Please don't wait another 2 months before you check out some more Jinjer/Vlad. Vlad's Mediator play through is bananas and worth a watch/listen. More Jinjer please and thank you! 🤘🍻
hey tony, i wanted to tell you that watching your videos have made me really wanted to play drums! ive only been playing on a mobile drum set on my phone, so i havent really had a taste of a real drum set. my dream career of being a chef might be replaced with being a drummer, i never knew the drums could be so fun!
Can't wait for you to react to Eve! Every song is unique and have phenomenal drum plays. I'll recommend listening to: - Dramaturgy - Tokyo Ghetto - Last Dance - Don't Replay The Boredom - How to Eat Life - Night is Faint - Leo - Demon Dance Tokyo - Raison D'etre And much more!
Hi Tony, thank you for the amazing content you are providing us, and breaking down Jinjer's Vlad is only a part of it, so keep it up, I dig it ! May I request that react to Danny Carey playing Pneuma live ?
Do you know what I'd like to see, besides an endoscopy of Tatiana's vocal apparatus when she screams? A brain scan of Vlad while he's playing! I'm sure it'd be an interesting case study for those linked to discover how the human brain functions. And it doesn't have to be this song, it can be any song because none of them is simple. 🙂
I love following reactors Jinjer journeys. I’d love to see your reaction to Judgment (& Punishment) and the live performance of Who is Gonna be the One if you haven’t heard them yet
I'd love to see your reaction to Violet Evergarden openings and/or OSTs. Or just anything by TRUE. She also does A.I.C.O. which is one of my favorite openings.
Does anyone know if he has reacted to A Certain Scientific Railgun's openings? It's definitely an underrated series. All of the openings are performed by the same artist, "fripSide."
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Something I notice when listening to their songs is that people tend to say they all sound the same, but I pick up quite a few differences in each of them. They all have the same style I suppose, but I am definitely limited in my musical background to really analyze everything. I definitely appreciate getting your perspective on music because it expands my knowledge and allows me to identify things I could not previously. I look forward to future reactions.
Love your videos man could you please react to king gnu- ichizu. Its a Japanese rock song but it’s very unique and I think you would love it. Also if anyone is reading this comment I also recommend checking the song out especially if you like Japanese rock music. Thankyou and keep up the great content tony
I don’t know why but the dynamics of the ghost notes combined with the timbre of that cranked snare has always bugged me. You’re right that maybe they’re not ghost notes because they seem to be serving a different role in the composition than ghost notes normally would, but I think for me they’re too close to ghost notes while also sounding too “intentional” if that makes sense.

That's such a hard question. I think Yoko Shimomura really made me love string music and symphony

@@Virvum_Juggernaut The video you suggested goes live tomorrow morning. What a monster drummer. EPIC

@@j.f.fisher5318 I need to see that video
@@j.f.fisher5318 Have you got a link, I'd love to see that.
I have to agree, their music very much feels like 4 lead musicians working together.

Vlad is such a monster musician. His drumming is so musical and always serves the song.

Vlad took the lead in composing 9 of the 11 songs on Wallflowers

YES.
If he'd been born 50- 60 years ago he'd have been on a Steely Dan album. Highest drum compliment.
Or touring with the dead!

I get some serious Guano Apes vibes from this track. The vocal melody sounds very much like something Sandra Nasic would come up with.

It's crazy that he's a classically trained pianist playing drums lol.
I didn't know that gods wore glasses.
Having the drum kit on a flat plane makes a lot of sense considering his background on piano...and it's on a similar level too as far as height
I love the sound of those Ks.
Someone please tell him to do bleach special opening and the official one from yesterday and probably thr new quincy OST he will definitely like those
Love the songs and your reactions ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Playlist for a Kingdom Hearts ost! You should give these a listen too.

Vlad reminds me so much of Ginger Baker in style.
He's doing more of a grip between thumb and middle finger, works better for the open/close hand technique than thumb/index.
Just get Tony a Vlad playthrough dvd for Christmas..😄
You should do Domi and JD Beck - take a chance on me. It’s the best thing I’ve listened to recently.
Have you ever seen a Monster on Drums playing
