1/200 Sovremenny Class Destroyer RC Conversion Tutorial

- As an entire upgraded RC conversion plan for Trumpeter 1/200 Sovremenny Class (Type 956) Destroyer, this video is a general guidance for relative series of products.
In this tutorial, a single rudder plan with modification produce would be emphasized, instead of original dual rudders setting. We believe our plan is truly reappear the real design of the ship.
Utilizing the initial structure of the gear box and Y-support, the installation of shafting is much friendly for beginners handle the most crucial section. Dual propulsion shafts design is also convenient for adjustment and calibration.
The concept, general approach is also suitable for Trumpeter 1/200 series of modern destroyer.

This is really nice, but seeing it in action had me thinking a nice addition would be some sort of inertial counterweight system to level the boat when it turns. I know that the real ships "flop over" on fast turns, especially the really big ones like aircraft carriers, but I think this model would look a lot more realistic if it did not tip quite so much on turns.
The model is very beautiful, its sailing fools you because the video is at normal speed, also the warships because they are very narrow and with large superstructures, they have the tension in the fast turns to take a big tilt in degrees.
This thing is going 200 scale mph!

Hellow Hugo, greetings from Rio de Janeiro, i am really into constructing my very first rc destroyer, and at this time i wanted to begin with this sovremenny which is beautiful. Do you know if i can begin with sovremenny 1/350 and put rc system? What would you recomend?
Fully understand your requirements on assembly a 1/350 version. Personally, 1/350 destroyer is much challenging comparing work on 1/200 one. One of the key aspects is lighten the loading on ship. So, the original plastic kit is even a better choice. Making a brass set is not cost effective yet no many requirements.

Hello. What battery in the boat?
Hi, a pair of 18650 Li-ion battery in series connection with 2200mAh capacity each. Weigth of the battery could be control around 90 gram, our plan is 43~45 gram X2. The 180 motor is quite low energy comsumption, 7.2V 2200mAh is pretty enough for a hour uninterrupted sailing.
