50 grand for a 4 cylinder engine regardless if it has turbos is completely ridiculous turbochargers are going to ruin that small engine over time and in the long run you're going to end up paying out of your you know what. Usually these things will break down just slightly right after the warranty. And then you're screwed. You gotta keep making V8 pay the government fine because in the long run if people get what they want in this country they'll sell enough of those V8 trucks and they'll be able to pay the fine. These Japanese companies don't get it and don't give what the American people want then just don't make a product at all. Humans will survive without Toyota trucks.

All valid points, but another sinful blight against today’s Toyota is their allocation-only sales model. They milked the COVID shortages as long as they could (to maximize $$), they’ve kept inventory levels low as long as they could (to maximize $$), and still they have the audacity to decide **for us** which vehicles get tossed our way, if they feel like it. No special orders, no requests, just take what WE give you and say thank you. Huh?? Those trucks and everything else they try to force-feed us the customers can sit there and rot.
Who asked for a complex turbo engine that nobody can fix? They killed the lifespan and are charging the highest prices. It may look good but I’m not spending ridiculous money on something that won’t last like their products of the past. The lack of quality control and further issues get in the way of confidence and trust that was built from ownership of previous models. A 9-Toyota history of ownership and I can’t see another one at this point with all their problems, pricing and changes that have made no sense.
The world is full of turbo diesels running for decades without significant trouble. It just depends how well implemented they are, and whether you avoid known ways to kill them. Basically don't run them hard when they are stone cold, or switch them off when they are glowing. Modern engines, like the Chevy 2.7T take care of the hot shutdown with separate cooling and lubrication which stays on even after switching the engine off. Starting your car in North Dakota on a cold winter day and immediately revving it hard will also result in turbo failure. 200,000rpm and oil like treacle don't mix well.
@@mibz1117 Really? So nobody could have got a million miles out of a RAM 3500 Cummins diesel in the Athabasca oilfields of Alberta. Hoovies Garage bought one and it was still working pretty well. Neither small nor a car. Diesels aren't magic, they just have correctly specified turbos.
As a three time previous Taco owner fanboy myself (most recently a '19 TRD-OR), Toyota successfully sold me on a Ranger Raptor....it was cheaper, it has a V6, it has a usable rear seat, has real bump stops, both front and rear lockers, live shocks, no stupid "port add-on's", and it doesn't look like it's dented under the side rear view mirrors. If I wouldn't have gotten a Raptor slightly under MSRP, then a ZR2/AT4X wouldn't been my next choice. Shocking that both GM and Ford have more compelling products at lower price points. Toyota is coasting an blind brand loyalty, but that only goes so far...
I 💯 agree with you. I was also a 28 year loyal Toyota fan and customer until the new CEO made the decisions to cheapen the brand across the board and charge outrageous MSRP for low quality parts and cheap labor out of Mexico. I hope Toyota watches these videos and reads the comments of their old customers or else they will be in big financial distress.
Who doesn't want more HP, more torque & better towing capacity? However, NOT at the expense of durability, reliability and affordability!!! The very thing that makes a Toyota a Toyota is rock solid durability! Very disappointing. I'm 100% fine with my Gen II Taco!
Whose gonna buy that over priced 2024 Tacoma when there is a Nissan Frontier at a cheaper price and less trouble. Toyota needs to drop the price in 1/2 😂. 😅
$60 grand for a four banger engine ( first year engine, I might add). Give me a break! I can see tacoma dropping to number three or four in the next couple of years.
I doubt it. Too many brand loyal fanboys. Last couple of new owners I've talked to at a gas pump said "it's a great truck, nothing happened yet", meaning they know not IF something happens but WHEN.
Sadly they seem overpriced and likely less reliable than previous versions. The gap between Tacos and their competitors has narrowed. I'm not sure they still have superior reliability.
Dude! Toyota Fan Boy here...I'm holding out for the 5th Gen Tacoma, 2 cylinder, twin turbo, wind turbine hybrid. Why? The gas mileage will be incredible and rumor is that it will be built at the El Tahara Factory in Mexico!
😂😂😂😂😂😂. Love the over the top sarcasm and rip on Toyota. They really thought all their loyal customers would just accept and buy these piles of garbage.
I got a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road with the premium package used in 2018 with 7k miles for 33,000 on a private sell… if in 7 years later similar trucks are close to 60K, imagine how much they will cost in another 8 years…
I don’t like full size trucks because they don’t fit on most of the trails. And I want a manual transmission. So I’m left with 2 options……Gladiator or Tacoma. It’s pretty bad when a Gladiator is the best option over a Tacoma! I wish the Frontier would bring back their manual transmission. It would be a no brainer for my pick
In credible, just crazy, prices of full size trucks for mid size. I can’t think of a single good justification. But Toyota will find a way and explain it like I’m stupid. No way $50k is a starting point but here we are. You want a ford fiesta? $50k You want a Mitsubishi Mirage? $50k You want a Mazda3? $50k You want a huffy? $50k
1.) Toyota hybrid cars? *chefs kiss* 2.) The hybrid Tacoma gets Ford Ranger mileage - I don’t know how it’s some carbon credit play 3.) the Ranger and S-10 once ruled this segment until they let the Tacoma take it over - this is a huge mistake that will allow the Ranger, Colorado, and Frontier back into the race. The days of Tacoma dominance are over. So, no - I don’t think that this Tacoma will be beloved. The only way they get a death grip on this segment is offering a 4x4 SR5 with a NA V6 for about $38K
I 💯 agree with ya bud. I hate to say it, but I don’t think Toyota will go back to the V6 days. That means they will double down on advertising and internet bots to sway people’s perception and negative press about Toyota. Toyota is using bots on TH-cam right now to convince people they are wrong about the brand.
I can’t go down the street to another Toyota dealer, I would have to fly to Maui and ship my car back to O’ahu. But I am glad I was able to buy outright my 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 Access Cab January 27, 2024 before the 4th Gens landed at the docks.
B-52 😂😂😂 that’s a big gap. I don’t think I could ever go back to Toyota at this point. I don’t trust their vehicles, and they are outrageously priced. The dealerships still have the balls to add markups on them as well. 😂😂😂
i couldn't agree more with your comment. Toyota dealers are the worst. Toyota as a brand has also become a greedy fat corporate pig. Cheap components and cheap labor means high profit margins and low quality parts and fit and finish. Bye bye Toyota.
$55K for a decently equipped midsize pickup (Tacoma Limited) that is still not as wide as a Ridgeline interior, nor wide enough to carry 4x8 sheets flat. Not to mention very very rare Limited editions. Assembled in Mexico. Turbo engine. Top of the line Black Edition Ridgeline is $49K and assembled in the USA 🇺🇸and still has a V6 VTEC DOHC and can haul drywall and plywood flat.
This is my complaint 100% of the time. These manufacturers make "trucks" that can't even haul building material. It's ridiculous. Especially when you look under the truck and see 3-4 inches on each wheel well that's empty space between the tire. Not to mention payload on the Ridgeline is 1500 lbs. I just wish Honda would bring it up to date.
Until you own a new Tacoma and live with it everyday you really are nothing but a bystander speculating on it. The fact is people have been complaining about every new change on cars/trucks for as long as I can remember. People complained about going from bias ply tires to radials, from points to electronic ignition, manual transmissions to automatics, drum brakes to disc brakes, vacuum/electrical engine controls to computer controls, push rods to overhead cams, V8 to V6s, steel bumpers to body concealed bumpers, incandescent lights to halogen lights, and list goes on and on. Really you’re just the current generation complaining about this or that and “if they only hadn’t changed this”. The good thing is you’re monetizing it and earning some cash off it. I’m sure over time you will warm up to your twin turbo hybrid Sequoia with the dreaded 3.5 V6. Finally, the 5.7 V8 had its share of early problems and Toyota did what Toyota does and worked through the issues.
I couldn’t agree with you anymore. instead of complaining about things being new just don’t buy it. I guarantee you in a few years. Everybody will love the new Tacoma, including this guy, considering the fact that he bought a new sequoia.
I like the looks of it, I test drove a couple and love it… but I just simply can’t get myself to buy something that is 20+ grand over priced. I just simply won’t. Regardless of all the problems, 4 cylinder turbo engine etc. I still would have bought one if it wasn’t for the ridiculous price.
That’s a fair comment. It’s all of the above issues and outrageous MSRP that has me upset and no longer interested in anything Toyota produces. Toyota needs a big change in leadership and focus on what they did best, make reliable cars and trucks that are affordable. They missed all those marks and then some.
Toyota clownsville Mexican made 4cylinder turbo with a battery for 60k is a joke!!! GMC Colorado AT4 50k or the Chevy ZR2 48k and both of those rigs are much much nicer than the Tacoma!!!
Hey Untamed I think you know this already but for the viewers, this is a natural progression of the current business model across America. We live in a throw away society now, the corporate business model is profits above anything. Its all about quarterly profits for investors. Toyota has a brand that took decades to build, they had to be better, they had to build quality. Now they can syphon billions off that reputation to please Wall Street. Profits above all! Unfortunately they went too far and cheaped out and consumers are seeing in. The fan boys dove in head first and will be sorry. I recently test dove a 2024 Tacoma a 2021 Tacoma on the same day. 87k on the 2021 and it drove so much better than the bell and chime queen 2024. Im out!
Yeah, the way to fix it is bring back the naturally aspirated V6 as an upcharge option at least. Then you can offer a twin turbo charged V6 for the TRD Pro, with no hybrid.
Had a brand new 2024 off-road and within the first 2000 miles, the transmission was having problems. The radio knob fell off. It was just a myriad of things never again will I buy a Toyota!
I just recently purchased a 2024 Tacoma SR5. So far, I have had no major issues. There are some quality control issues, none of which affect the performance of the vehicle.
Good video. Another issue with Toyota these days is that there are too many trims. We do not need a Limited in the line-up., and the TRD is mostly for show. Look at the Camry TRD, it looks silly and ridiculous.
3rd gen didn't receive as much hate, but it still received a lot of hate. People are always going to hate. The 4th gen pricing is the real bummer, if it was priced accordingly, it wouldn't be as hated as much. Even with the loss of the NA V6.
@@TH-camuser1aa I love that because car dealerships are back to pre-pandemic inventory we assume nothing is being sold. Full car dealership lots were normal 5 years ago, have you forgotten?
@@TH-camuser1aa for the last 4 years people complained and complained about how dealerships were using low inventory to price gouge. Now you are complaining discounts and higher inventory levels are because no one wants to buy their cars. Do you just like complaining?!
Wall Street doesn’t seem too impressed. Hopefully they will figure out that they need to offer some non hybrid non turbo engine options for these models in future years. But it’s bound to be a long wait if ever as they waste their resources producing new squirrel wheels to replace all the old squirrel wheels that have been recalled for replacement.
Toyota Tacoma Fails as listed: catastrophic failure on Auto/Manual Transmissions and over heating on Automatic Transmissions (my co-worker has experienced this the first 2 months of ownership), suspension top hat failing and breaking through to the frame/body, CV axles snapping on light duty off roading, transfer cases failing, whining and failing rear differential, interior climate controls/knobs breaking, infotainment screen breaking or needing rebooted after a couple of months, interior gloveboxes rattling and center console is flimsy, fit and finish is very cheap plastic and thin. A few engine problems have been happening like fail turbos or an issue with check engine light coming on (unknown’s at this time I’ll keep reading the forums). Way overpriced MSRP for a Mexico made low quality and problematic issues. Toyota also recommends changing the spark plugs every 40K miles on the new turbo engines, the cost to replace the spark plugs is close to $1,000. This truck hasn’t been out very long and the list of problems and added maintenance just keeps going up and up. Toyota, you really failed big time.
Toyota shit the bed with the new Tundra and Tacoma pricing. They were smoking the Covid crack pipe when they came up with the pricing. Some middle management clown thought this pricing up and Toyota exces were seeing $$$$ signs. Both of these trucks have been major flops. They are sitting on the new 4Runner cuz they know it's gonna be strike number three when that over priced turd hits the showroom. Just because Toyota can produce 250k units per year doesn't mean they can sell them. As a long time Toyota fanboy I am "meh" about the brand now. That is a crazy reversal of brand loyalty, forged over 35 years. Way to go Toyota!
I couldn’t have said it any better. After 30 years of Toyota brand loyalty, I am done with their overpriced and overhyped new Turbo and Hybrid vehicles. Tell your family and friends to stay far away from these new Toyota models. Absolute junk Toyota.
Hate it? Questionable engines, garbage strut towers, extremely questionable front axle, garbage transmission. So, currently, no sale. I don't hate the new engines, but if the afore mentioned parts are failing on new vehicles then it doesn't matter how many of what they produce, I won't buy it. Their problem is that if they get a reputation for lacking reliability they won't sell. The Stelantis lots are full. That can happen to Toyota too. Toyota sells because they have a reputation for reliability, not because they are Toyota. If the new engines and transmissions had been reliable they might have been able to justify the cost. But I can get a mid spec Silverado 2500 for well under $60k. If I was buying tomorrow I'd probably buy the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X for a shade under $40k. For what I do the extra $10k for a 4Runner isn't worth it. 25% extra to enclose the rear end.
I am keeping my 2012 Nissan Altima which has bulletproof after almost 13 years of driving my car. It still has the original CVT transmission. In my opinion NO 12' Camry is better than my car. Toyota Camry better than my car? Not really.
What's going to happen to that secondary market with hybrid platforms? Most consumers seeking a used Tacoma or Tundra would probably find it prohibitive to repair these platforms, especially to obtain new hybrid batteries. I think this is a whole lot of "happy horse [blank]" projections by Toyota and other OEMs. It's planned obsolescence as you've said in the past, which I think will do long-term damage. And those panel gaps are outrageous. I remember the fender (over the right rear wheel well) on one of the Toyota trucks you showed in an earlier video. It appeared to have little bumps throughout. Who's doing quality control in Mexico for Toyota?
Recently leased a 24 Taco off road. Always respected Toyota but have never had a Toyota truck before. I really like how the 24 Tacoma drives, plenty of power and tons of torque from the turbo 2.4. Trans shifts nicely and the truck feels very responsive. Suspension is good for light off road and routine daily use in all conditions. I don't understand all the hate for this truck. It was about $45k selling price on a $50k MSRP. High Toyota residual values make the lease attractive. But I agree these trucks, and all new vehicles really, have gotten a lot more expensive. Before you pass judgement, go drive one, you might like it.
I just rented a 24 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Drove it 1200 miles so far. Likes: - Good power. Towed a 18 foot boat with it. Handled it well. - fancy features. That's a like and dislike. Would rather my truck be simple. - looks! - bright headlights? Idk I'm really digging for Likes now. - mostly comfortable. Dislikes: - when the engine is first started, there was a persistent squeak which sounded like it was from the drive belt. Short, but it would squeak once a minute. It would go away after the engine was warm. - after driving 800 miles straight, the engine temp was above the centerline. Don't know what that's about. - transmission felt like it was jerking back and forth when in heavy traffic (about 10 mph on and off). - engine is whiny, grumbly. Does not instill confidence. - shaky at low speeds.
Come to New Jersey, Your head will explode when you look at the $47,000 SR5s or the $57,000 TRD Off Roads, When I bought my 2022 my dealer never had a Tacoma sitting on the lot, just the one in the showroom, today there was 13 on the lot and they have been there a while
Those of us who do our homework on the vehicles we want to buy , will not want to buy the new Tacoma especially if it's going to be used offload. As of now there are better choices for mid size trucks than Tacoma.
That’s the message I got from Toyota as well. Screw all the loyal customers and fans and give them a cheap and unreliable truck that is so expensive no one can afford it except the unknowing Toyota fanboy who loves cool commercials and useless gimmicks. LOL
I had a '91 dlx 2wd extended cab, 4cyl - 5 speed pickup, (before they became "Tacoma's") that I sold this summer after 32 years of ownership.... I drove the wheels off of that thing, and it never gave me a minutes trouble.... I like simple, so my replacement search found a low mile 2015 access cab, 2wd 4cyl - 5 speed Tacoma.... It's the last year of the 2nd generation, and also the last year that you could get a 4cyl - 5speed.... Also the last of the 15" wheel and a low bed-side height.... You can reach in the bed to get a shovel without needing a step ladder, and I get to pick the gear I want..... I love it, and it gets 25mpg..... Regardless of 4wd or not, all trucks anymore have these skyscraper bed-heights, that you can't even work out of.... My 2010 5.7 Tundra is rock solid, but has that limitation.... I knew the whole turbo /or hybrid thing, and increasing complexity, was going to be a step backward for their trucks..... I retired from being a Tool and Die Maker with Toyota for 26 years, and it's rather heartbreaking to see their quality going downhill.... 😑
Ranger Raptor- 55k. Called Confirmation Bias. MSRP was way way over inflated, it's still overpriced even with the discounts. Plus the made in Mexico, Uhg. Slap in the face to the American truck buyer. Sad.
If the transmission in the Civic was a CVT I wouldn’t be surprised, I’d favor a standard 6 spd or a regular automatic any day, but I’ve leased Honda’s for the last 11 years & haven’t had a lick of trouble with any of them.(3 Accords, a Pilot & my present Ridgeline).
24 Tacoma is ridden with problems, my neighbor bought one earlier this year and said, it's been nothing but a headache. He actually has it listed on FB marketplace, he is selling at a loss, but at this point, he just wants out.
I don’t see many on the road at least in my neck of the woods. Ok I’m not in a big time city but with past models I’ve see them all over the place Also I’m wondering how bad the new 4 Runner is going to be..
The 2025 4Runner will be like the New Tacoma’s unfortunately, so do not buy the new 4Runners either. Toyota is a greedy corporation now and it definitely shows since 2022 models came out and the new CEO came into the picture.
I don't think people are buying them just because they are there, but they have a stellar reputation and hands down best resale value. A vehicle doesn't have to be less reliable simply because it's more complex.....but it seems as if all the manufacturers have found ways to deliver poor quality at every turn.
Ppl should do their research before spending 60-70k on a truck. I don’t mind buy an expensive vehicle if it is a reliable vehicle that last. Most tundras blowing engines
Well..unfortunately the list of things we wanted is short. Truly it looks great. They nailed the style. …That’s about it. The power train and price increase takes away from the looks of the truck.
I own a 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 Barcelona Red made in Mexico (I bought it brand new) and I love it! I lucked out in being able to buy it (it was covid and there were no new trucks on the lots), I was at the right place at the right time. It's a great truck. No problems with it. It runs great has enough power to go on freeways, and in the city driving. It's my work horse. Best of all it fits in my garage. I can't say enough good things about my Toyota Tacoma. Personally I don't like the little turbo engine "modern" current trend on 2024 and later models. I wish I had bought a Toyota Tacoma years ago.
I have a 3rd gen as well but the 4th gen is growing on me. And prices are starting to come down. My local dealer has a TRD off road for 42k. And they also have a prerunner for 37k.
Nobody wants turbos…you take a inadequate engine and boost it so its basically always running at peak…as in with a NA v6/v8 they’re hardly ever working at peak = lasting forever!…
Discontinue the entire model? That’s just dumb lol. They should bring back a NA V6 and build it in Texas or Japan. Drop the price to respectable numbers….. and boom it’ll sell like hotcakes.
Honestly, Toyota‘s been doing hybrid for almost 30 years so I don’t understand why they could not have just hybridized a 3.5 L V6 it still get the EPA Café credits for hybridization, but then you would keep the simplicity of a naturally aspirated V6. To me that makes more sense
Hahaha, presenting the changes sarcastically as a 'positive', actually made the point even clearer how far they've fallen. It shows how absurd it sounds to talk about these changes in a positive light.
Toyota can go under. Maybe then they will bring back the V6 and lower the trucks back to a decent price fully optioned. I test drove a 24 TRD Sport to replace my 22 TRD Sport and was not impressed. Keeping the V6.
Seeing these in person I'm not a fan of the styling at all. It has some weird angles going on, especially the bed side panel. That combined with how cheap the build is and how many problems they're having is a no go for me. Sucks because I've always wanted a tacoma and after 17 years of holding on to my old beater I was planning on getting one.
I feel the same frustration and let down as well. This was the year I was going to buy a Brand New Toyota Tacoma or Tundra and now I’ll buy a used Toyota or a New Nissan Frontier.
Toyota corporate is trying to lower their emissions at the cost reliability, and the durability of their vehicles. I think it’s more about profit because all the tech they put into vehicles now
Bring back the NA V6, fix the quality issues, transmission and bump stops... and drop the price by 10-15k and I'm in!!!
They won’t drop the price because people can just finance it over a longer period of time
Nah, bring back the 3rd gen style, get rid of the Tundra line, and put a V8 in the 3rd gen.
Then you are out as it's not going to happen... nice try though.
You can still buy a slightly used 3rd gen.
Lol everyone cried the v6 was underpowered, always hunted for gears going uphill 🤣🤣

Love that Ranger Raptor!
They need to come down 10k across the line if not more. I'd honestly give Nissan a shot at this point to save the 10 to 15k easily.
Was thinking of getting a 2024 Taco… but I decided to pay off my 2019 and keep it. Made in Texas, 5 years of ownership with absolutely no issues 👌🏽
I'm in a '19 4Runner. I've been waiting on the 6th gen for a few years now. To say I'm disappointed with this trend is an understatement 🙄
Yesterday I (Toy Fan Boy) spent a little time at GMC & Chevy and wow those mid trucks are super looking.
And the $50K price tag of Taco TRD Sport with upgrade package puts you in a Colorado ZR2. No brainer to get the ZR2.
But they’re absolute garbage sadly. Read the reviews. It’s comical how badly built they are.
There is still the Frontier, and the Ridgeline
The Frontier is a truck. The Ridgeline is a big car with a bed....
Ridgeline? Lol ok
3G Frontier improved every sore point of 3G Tacoma, while staying old school Nissan, except no stick shift. Nice job all around.
I hear you. My deal breaker is them dropping from the reliable V6 to four banger engines. I like the instant power of a V6, no lag.
By then it will be built in a new plant in Beijing, and every body panel will have solar cells implanted. Fanboys will gush over it.
I got a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road with the premium package used in 2018 with 7k miles for 33,000 on a private sell… if in 7 years later similar trucks are close to 60K, imagine how much they will cost in another 8 years…
There wont be a US Dollar in 8 years. Inflation is exponential. Not linear.
My small town tacoma dealer has almost 20 trucks piling up on the lot....they cant sell them
I don’t like full size trucks because they don’t fit on most of the trails. And I want a manual transmission. So I’m left with 2 options……Gladiator or Tacoma. It’s pretty bad when a Gladiator is the best option over a Tacoma! I wish the Frontier would bring back their manual transmission. It would be a no brainer for my pick
Got lucky & bought a new 22 TRD OR 4x4 loaded with manual trans 2 years ago.
$38,500 out the door - Tampa area.
Even if they were priced between 35k and 40k I still wouldn't want one!
Lots to pay later down the road after warranty expires!
In credible, just crazy, prices of full size trucks for mid size. I can’t think of a single good justification. But Toyota will find a way and explain it like I’m stupid. No way $50k is a starting point but here we are. You want a ford fiesta? $50k
You want a Mitsubishi Mirage? $50k
You want a Mazda3? $50k
You want a huffy? $50k
You want an “actual Barbie(c) Dream car” toy? guess what?
$50k!!!!!!!
1.) Toyota hybrid cars? *chefs kiss*
2.) The hybrid Tacoma gets Ford Ranger mileage - I don’t know how it’s some carbon credit play
3.) the Ranger and S-10 once ruled this segment until they let the Tacoma take it over - this is a huge mistake that will allow the Ranger, Colorado, and Frontier back into the race.
We got options now. Rather get an American made colorado zr2 than a mexico made tacoma OR for the same price
Whoopie for you
I can’t go down the street to another Toyota dealer, I would have to fly to Maui and ship my car back to O’ahu. But I am glad I was able to buy outright my 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 Access Cab January 27, 2024 before the 4th Gens landed at the docks.
Not paying mortgage money for a car I want to eat Toyota want us to eat air only 😂
You're spot on about Toyota!! I always planed on keeping my 22 Taco.
It’s a slap in the face. Used to be made in Indiana or Texas. Now its all outsourced to Mexico where they’re paid $4 an hour to put these together.
Not the fault of the Mexican assembly works, but the Quality Management, or lack thereof of Toyota manufacturing.
They only make $4 if they’re on overtime.
Blame Trump,he wants to kill free trade
Toyota de Mexico!
I love my 23 4runner Pro. Not paying 75,000 for a Tacoma Pro or 4runner Pro!! Tacomas are sitting on lots by me.
Let them all Rot on the Lot! Tell your friends and family members not to buy them either. These New Tacomas are junk.
It came time to upgrade and after having 4 Toyotas (2 Tacomas and 2 4Runners), I made the switch to Ford.
Im out!
Spot on. You are correct about our current greedy corporate takeover and the government is no better with their EPA laws and regulations.
@@Slammingutzyes!
People should remember this when voting
Have a 2024 taco 6 foot box sports premium truck is gold no problems. Live in Canada
Yeah, the way to fix it is bring back the naturally aspirated V6 as an upcharge option at least. Then you can offer a twin turbo charged V6 for the TRD Pro, with no hybrid.
60k for a 35k truck = no deal!
Toyota is just like Chevy and Ford now, but Chevy and Ford provide more value and are arguably more fun & premium to drive
Had a brand new 2024 off-road and within the first 2000 miles, the transmission was having problems. The radio knob fell off. It was just a myriad of things never again will I buy a Toyota!
It seems to be a trend of poor quality and poor decisions made by Toyota the past 3 years.
Those massive air dams are really hard to look at
Matches the rest of the truck, and Toyotas in general. Especially Tundra
3rd gen didn't receive as much hate, but it still received a lot of hate. People are always going to hate. The 4th gen pricing is the real bummer, if it was priced accordingly, it wouldn't be as hated as much. Even with the loss of the NA V6.
So many people hate the Tacoma, it has double the amount of sales or more of every other midsize truck in Q2. 🙄
They’re sold when they get shipped the dealership. They’re not moving after that.
@@TH-camuser1aa that’s incorrect.
@@benjaminzie whatever you say. Inventory is piling up.
Love it.. keep them coming *keep it real videos*
Exactly. Spot on.
For every person that criticizes these, there are 4 people who will buy them. Its the way things are these days
The new Tacoma is a great truck for a mechanic.
Or the Tundra
Ken Garff’s salesman of the year……….
Maybe it’s reverse psychology
Bag the Tacoma so the curious will go look at it and buy it?😅
Leave the high prices alone, you have to warm up the car and cool down the car on each drive! Also change the oil every 5000 miles !
I just rented a 24 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Drove it 1200 miles so far.
Likes:
- Good power. Towed a 18 foot boat with it. Handled it well.
- fancy features. That's a like and dislike. Would rather my truck be simple.
- looks!
- bright headlights? Idk I'm really digging for Likes now.
- mostly comfortable.
Dislikes:
- when the engine is first started, there was a persistent squeak which sounded like it was from the drive belt.
Toyota keeps going backwards. I’m ready for them to start doing things right
The bump stop is not really the issue. It’s the top hat / plate they use on top of the shock. It’s plastic or cheap cast. I forget.
A few times these past couple of months I get "Let me know if you want to sell your truck" notes for my 2018 TRD off-road Tundra
I am no longer interested in Toyota and Toyota is no longer interested in me.
Nissan pro4x,,, nuff said!!
I’m sorry he’s taking a hit… don’t wish that on anyone. But glad he realized it early on so he can get out of it.
@@UntamedMotors Thank you, I enjoy your channel, got my friend to subscribe as well, good luck.
I don’t see many on the road at least in my neck of the woods. Ok I’m not in a big time city but with past models I’ve see them all over the place
Also I’m wondering how bad the new 4 Runner is going to be..
V6 no turbo drop the price for base models and really all models and I’d be considering a Tacoma. I’ll just keep my V6 forever
Offer it with a v6 option, easy. And bring back the 2.7. Problem solved.
Ppl should do their research before spending 60-70k on a truck. I don’t mind buy an expensive vehicle if it is a reliable vehicle that last. Most tundras blowing engines
When they get it right I will add one to my 2nd and 3rd gen
Back in Nov 2015 I Bought a 2016 Tacoma TRD OF 4wd loaded for 37 k
I am waiting for the 2025 Frontier if I can get one for the right price. I never have and never will buy Toyota.
You're in my town. I bought my slightly used 2020 AG Tundra Pro there. Man, do I love it so far.
Nobody wants turbos…you take a inadequate engine and boost it so its basically always running at peak…as in with a NA v6/v8 they’re hardly ever working at peak = lasting forever!…
Your tundra looks great untamed, that’s a keeper.
I just had the oil changed at the dealership for the Land Cruiser. I bet they had 10 new tundras and 15 new Tacoma’s. 6 months ago the lot was empty.
@@supersoup5509 man that’s crazy… they can’t even discount them enough to move em.
A four cylinder Tacoma can't compete with a six cylinder Frontier. Toyota should cut it's losses and discontinue the Tacoma.
It's almost like they don't want us owning heavier vehicles. The "You'll own nothin' and be happy" sort of thing. But it's probably just greed.
4 BANGER hahaha😂😮😅😂😮😂😮😂 for 60k
4 banger is not an issue. Tacoma has always had a 4 cylinder option.
