Finally you try Subnautica! Fire episode Davo. Hoping you continue the series, here's some spoiler free tips: *Make a scanner in the fabricator *Salt deposits can be used to cure fish for long term storage *Make a repair tool for your lifepod, the radio is important *If you’re low on titanium, you can find metal sheets near crash sites that can be turned into 4 titanium at the fabricator Good luck bro hope these tips are helpful
Some beginner tips (without spoilers): >You swim faster then not holding anything. >You'll want a Scanner, Habitat Builder and Repair Tool made as soon as possible so you can truly get your journey underway. >When exploring points of interest, keep your scanner in your hand at all times; there are all sorts of useful blueprints and important backstory you can only get by scanning things in your environment; bits of structures, interesting plants, animals, and even fossils! I cannot stress enough how important this is. There're 4 things in particular that will make building a base and getting reliable sources of food, water and electricity infinitely easier, and several others that will let you make your base awesome. >Each abandoned lifepod will have at least one abandoned PDA with bits of story in it nearby. >If you die, you only lose what you'd gathered since last time you were in your lifepod (or base), and you can go back to where you died to get it back, so don't be too scared to take risks. >Seriously, be brave. There's so much beauty in this game that many people never experience because they're too scared to go into a potentially dangerous area. >There's only one type of enemy in this game that can't be killed. They're about the size of a person and you'll know them when you see them. I promise you will know them when you see them. Literally everything else can be killed, and the big ones don't respawn. >This game is a masterpiece in environmental storytelling, much like the Dark Souls trilogy. It won't always be obvious where you need to go unless you actually read important data entries. Like, if you go through an entire giant adventure and your reward at the end of it includes some big fancy looking thing that gives you an entry in your log, it's probably telling you where to go.
It's not really that scary once you get used to it. By the end I was literally riding Ghost Leviathans like rodeo bulls while punching them to death with my own two (heavily mechanically enhanced) hands. Also if you just get the Seamoth Perimeter Defense System you no longer have to worry about anything attacking you because you have a panic button that makes literally any enemy in the game leave you alone.
@ way to ruin a joke, I know it’s not Scary. I was terrified in the beginning but I’m not scared of it anymore. It’s a blast to play and I wish I could finish it again
Ay so the first big tip I can give (pause) is make a Scanner, those allow you to scan those fragments and craft new recipes. Second is make the Repair tool so you can repair your pod and more importantly the radio transmitter.
Single biggest tip - no spoilers - is a simple one: slow down and read. In particular, read your blueprints and the recipes you can make on your fabricators. Doing this will tell you what you need at any given point, and basically where to go next.
Here are some spoiler free tips for Subnautica that I'm not seeing anybody else cover: - The exploding fish that chase you in caves leave behind a valuable resource in their den - You can craft items out of decomposed resources still, you just shouldn't eat them - The scanner is essential for this game, you need it to progress - The Rebreathers use isn't immediately apparent: But it makes it so you loose oxygen at the same rate, regardless of how deep you are. Without it, you loose oxygen faster the further down you go. - You can ping things that you need, the item is called a beacon and it is crafted using only one titanium and copper - You can orient yourself other than beacons, you just need to explore and this game will give you what you need - This strategy is niche and not overly useful, but if you craft multiple air tanks, you can swap them out to get more air underwater after one is diminished - When you die you only loose non-important stuff, don't be afraid to explore - Exploring Life pods and Wreckages is the best way to get new stuff, especially if you do it with a scanner This game will make you feel lost sometimes, but if you just look around and explore; There will always be something to do.
I love blind playthroughts of this game. There's more than a few things in it I love seeing people react to. Im sure you will be... reaping the benefits of not looking things up unless its just a recipe
Tips. Make the scanner, you can scan technologies scattered on the seabed with it to reveal new blueprints. You can pick up metal scrap (that the stalkers carry sometimes) to make it into titanium. Make the repair tool to repair the escape pod. This will set you on track.
I loved the video-it was so much fun watching a new player experience Subnautica! I’d recommend crafting a Repair Tool and especially a Scanner, as the scanner is incredibly useful for getting lore and unlocking blueprints. For those red fish in the caves that explode, check the spot they came out of-there’s usually an item there. Also, don’t forget to pick up metal salvage whenever you need titanium.
Definitely continue this as a series! Once the mechanics click, you'll have a blast. As others have said, get a scanner, habitat builder and repair tool ASAP, so you can start making progress towards new items.
Def continue Subnautica as a series, a ton of people love it. You haven't even begun to see even 1% of the games biomes, creatures, items or story. It is much deeper than you can even begin to think on first look. Of course, that's if you yourself are enjoying the game. But if you are going to continue, I would suggest making a repair tool and a scanner as soon as possible. Use the repair tool on the stuff inside the pod, and specifically listen to the radio transmitter for story related stuff, as well as giving suggestions on what to do or where to go. The scanner on the other hand is the most important tool to build in the game. You use it to scan everything in the game, from furniture and items you find in the underwater bases, to the creatures themselves. But the biggest thing is to find "fragments" of different items and scan them. For instance, you found a grav trap fragment earlier in the video. If you scan enough fragments, you'll unlock the recipe for the grav trap. Using the scanner to unlock new recipes is necessary if you want to continue and progress in the game. Hope to see you continue it, your reactions to just the stalker and manatee things makes me really excited to see your reactions to some of the actual predators
Might be your best video yet, im really hoping this becomes a series because subnautica is my favorite open world survival games of all time and was a hyperfixation of mine for years, this game played a big part in sparking my love for the ocean and next year im starting college with the hopes of becoming a marine biologist.
Im playing dark souls along side you and i don't wanna spoil the elden ring dlc for myself. So it makes me sad that i can't watch all ur vids 😭 but it's all good bc every other video is a banger and you're quickly becoming my top 3 fav youtubers
You went crazy with the progression this episode, quick note you need the scanner to progress in this game. I’m so excited for you to play this game, it’s one of my all time favorites.
Let’s go I just finished binging the Elden ring videos and was thinking that you should play this! Also definitely build the scanner and repair tool. That should help give you some direction
-The pathfinder tool is basically breadcrumbs trail. If you entered an extensive cave and you don't wanna get lost, you can periodically use pathfider tool to leave a marker. That way, when you wanna go back, you can just follow the glowing trails you left behind -Craft scanner. This allows you to scan creatures, so you can read their lore, or debris, which gives you new tool and technology to craft -Craft seaglide. This allows you to swim MUCH faster to go where you want or escape hazards -If you're short on titanium, you can pick some sheet metal scraps on the seafloor and bring it to fabricator. This can be turned into 4 titaniums
The absolute BALLS to go that deep with that little oxygen absolute respect o7 My advice is to take a look at all the crafting recipes, there's some pretty important stuff in there that might help you out! Enjoyed this a lot, have just subscribed and am excited for the next one!
Digging the enthusiasm! You have met the true Subnatica fabricating experience: no matter what you are making, you will be short one material. Usually titanium, somehow. I'm impressed that you managed to visit the Degasi base (in the deep pink cave) well before finding any way of going deep easily :) Brave soul. Ok since you explicitly said tips: build a repair tool and a scanner. Repair the radio and it'll feed you story bits. I firmly believe this game is worth the purchase price any day, I hope you enjoy the rest of it. Even if you decide against streaming/uploading it, give just playing it a shot :)
Davo u r actually the perfect person to play this 😂 i cannot wait to see more if you decide to continue. What you really need to do to really get the story started is get your radio working.
Really nice vid from a beautiful Game! I would love to see more of that, I played Subnautica myself and i enjoy seeing other people experiencing this masterpiece for the first time. I like the way you are playing that game ^^ at your own pace, just exploring, figuring stuff out and having (hopefully) fun 🙂 And i can agree with the comment from "EasyReefer" ... try building a scanner, you can analyze not just the fish and many plants, it also lets you get new blueprints so you can build new stuff... like in that base down where the snakes are, or in litte containers on the seabed, it says something about "fragments" ... and with a scanner you can obtain that stuff for yourself ^^ like that thing in your Fabricator, the "Seaglide". I just hope you are having enough Fun in that Game to make some more Videos (or better, complete the Game)... i like the good vibes ^^ and if there are questions... i am SURE the good people here will help you out, and I hope there are not tooo many spoilers. Just keep exploring, it´s absolutely worth it! I wish you a great Time!
I adore this game! i'm totally sticking around for this!!! Btw, I've started diving in real life kinda recently and it reminded me that the character you play as, is a madman, constantly in the water on limited air. Newfound respect for what that takes
Great video, don't worry about it man being lost in the ocean is half the fun of this game, my best advice is to make a scanner tool and a repair tool for your life pod.
quick tip: the scanner is the most important tool in the game, you can scan literally anything (ex: the grav trap part you found, alien lifeforms, etc) and get blueprints after scanning enough pieces of certains toold/items. It will also give you necessary information on the use of each lifeform, tool and item
1. Make the scanner - it unlocks new recipes which are vital and lore of anything you scan 2. Make the repair tool and repair the radio in the lifepod - required for story progression and quests
The place the crashfish come out of has cave sulfur which is needed for the repair tool, all fragments are obtained with a scanner. Fragments spawn in different biomes to promote exploration. The story is amazing and the gameplay is great... ps amazing editing!
Subnautica is one of my favorite survival games if you decide to continue it you need to make a Scanner as well as a Repair Tool. Having a Scanner allows you to scan damn near everything in the game and vastly opens up what you can craft such as it allows you to get blueprints to build a base or vehicles. Meanwhile Repair Tool allows you to fix your base or vehicles and you can fix the Lifepods ventilation and Radio as well.
Most of the tools you can make at the start of the game remain the most useful throughout, you already got the knife and flashlight but the scanner and repair tool are just as useful. The scanner will unlock the more advanced item blueprints if you can find them and the repair tool will fix up your pod and get rid of the power issues, also yeah the pod can run out of power but it'll recharge over time and I'm pretty sure it's only an issue at night really. If you didn't, make sure to check in the nests of the exploding fish for cave sulfur, you'll need it.
Man is really out here living in a broken lifepod yet still ahead of the curve in that he twigged he didnt need to make a second tank. I've seen so many people make two oxygen tanks.
not sure if anyone has told you but there's a feature in the game that allows you to pause the game anytime the pda is up and if you're interested it's located in options> accessibilities> pda pause
When he was near the ship and you could hear IT roaring in the distance 💀💀 my flight or fight response kicked in on instinct Real talk this game is one of the greats please keep playing 🙏🙏
You should have gotten the scanner before the flashlight. Scanner is def the most important beginning game item you can have along with a repair tool for your life pod.
to like explain the limestone outcrops, there is a system called "buckets" so when you break an outcrop the loot bucket has 1 titanium and 1 copper, so there is a 50/50 chance of getting either. But then the next outcrop there is only the one you didnt get left in the bucket. so that means every 4 outcrops you are guaranteed to get two of each, and you can never get 3 in a row of the same ore (if you get two copper in a row the next one is guaranteed to be titanium)
Keep playing bro ur real entertaining a. You’ll feel lost right now but just look at the tips in the comments and eventually it comes to u. One tip is to make the scanner because it is the most useful tool I. The game and is how u get blueprints to make other items 👍
He’s literally copied everything from the TH-camr Jettro Jettro. His edit style, thumbnail style, his character (the hat and glasses). I would have far more respect for him if he was original and doing his own thing. At least he doesn’t play every single game Jettro plays.
@@NeakMeakk i honestly don't really care, I don't know who Jettro Jettro is and Davo seems more entertaining to me. I can see the similarities in the thumbnails and the shape of the facecam, at a glance. But most big youtubers start by copying the style or format of youtubers they're fans of. I'm not saying he shouldn't diverge in terms of thumbnails and editing eventually, but for now there's no real issue with it. Also let the man wear his hat and glasses lol, that's just a thing people wear
Pls make a scanner and repair tool. They're the most essential items in the game. U can't get anywhere without them. The scanner is used to scan fragments like the beacon u saw so u can make them later. Also u swim faster when not holding anything. U should use salt and table coral samples to make bleach for better water. And those creature eggs r completely useless rn so u should get rid of them and free up some storage space. Once u repair ur life pod with the repair tool the story gets started so that's a must
It's actually pretty smart to not think of surfacing rapidly, if you did that in the real world you'd likely the bends and die from sudden pressure change
AY I RECOMMENDED THIS GAME DURING THAT ONE LIVESTREAM. So glad to see you finally playing this game 😭. Also, if you TRULY want tips, build a scanner and a repair tool. Those will give you access to so much stuff, trust.
Oh brother, here we go. You are giving us PEAK after PEAK after PEAK. GIVE THIS DUDE A RAISE!!!
The truth
For real I have been telling him tobplay this for forever
I hope he does more, and soon😂

(The base building tool is a good project to work on too)
You need a scanner so you can scan broken equipment to unlock new blueprints. Usually around wreckage or outofplace boxes

I love watching people play subnatica!
which is mostly because i played it for 16 hours and was never brave enough to go below 50 meters deep
Nice game selection!
i was like”this ain’t dark souls?!” but decided to watch only beginning, and end up watching the whole thing.
Yo I just got done playing Subnautica and I see this CRAZY TIMING 🤣
i recommend listening through the voice logs and the lore as its really well dubbed
Yes yes yes yes you have achieved greatness
HYPEEEEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should have gotten the scanner before the flashlight. Scanner is def the most important beginning game item you can have along with a repair tool for your life pod.
Love when content creators use Undertale/Deltarune osts for their background
to like explain the limestone outcrops, there is a system called "buckets" so when you break an outcrop the loot bucket has 1 titanium and 1 copper, so there is a 50/50 chance of getting either. But then the next outcrop there is only the one you didnt get left in the bucket. so that means every 4 outcrops you are guaranteed to get two of each, and you can never get 3 in a row of the same ore (if you get two copper in a row the next one is guaranteed to be titanium)
when you get further into the game and find different outcrops the buckets get too big to keep track of, but for limestone it is very useful
One tip I can give you is make a Scanner, its suprissing that you ignored it so much, and you are doing a good job fugiring things out on your own
Dark Souls with some Subnautica spin off? I'm here for it
Bro davo i am begging you to make this an entire series and not just an episode plz
I had fun watching you but at the same time I was like DUDE! you need tools! lol
LEEETS GOOO 🙏🙏🙏
38:00 remember that. knoledge is power. scan everything ;))
Oh yeah. I LOVE this game!!! THIS MAN DOES NOT MISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
holy peak my brother, always playing the W games
Those fish that blow up have sulfur in the cocoons they exit out of
AY I RECOMMENDED THIS GAME DURING THAT ONE LIVESTREAM. So glad to see you finally playing this game 😭. Also, if you TRULY want tips, build a scanner and a repair tool. Those will give you access to so much stuff, trust.
You haven't build the most important tool yet....build the scanner, start scanning stuff and read all entries in the PDA.
yo you should make the scanner and the seaglide ASAP they're pretty essential
This game freaks me the hell out and I am not going back. Literally gave me thalassophobia.
